I woke up in a small boat lying on the shore of an island. The blue sky and the rays of the sun that block my view. Looking at the turquoise waters. The view of the wide and blue ocean.
The hot wind was met by my long hair causing it to explode. Aboard a small boat washed ashore. My tears flowed abundantly when I remembered what happened to me.
I escaped from my father's plan. He wants me to marry a rich man to get a bigger share in their company and to merge our company with them. But I don't want to do that. I don't want people to say I'm a gold digger. I don't want people to talk about me being a gold digger.
Despite the circumstances, I don't know what to do. I don't even know where I am. All I know is that the waves and the wind brought me to this island.
I believe in luck, but luck is real. Despite my escape, here I am and alive. Lying in a small boat. There are wounds on my feet as a result of my running on the rocky part of the beach, where my father wants me to meet the man he wants. Those are painful.
I looked at the island. This island used to be a tourist spot because many people bathe and have picnics here. The island has white and fine sand, clean shores, and a hill where the houses and huts are located. It is really an island that attracts tourists, whether local or foreign.
I looked at the three men going to where I was. I heard them whispering. I heard footsteps approaching to the boat. I saw a tall man in his mid-twenties. He approached to the boat where I was. His broad shoulders looked more defined when he drew close to me. He was wearing only a white shirt. With his black board shorts.
He squatted and looked at me with concern in his eyes. I just looked at him and watched what he would do to me.His pitch black eyes, thick eyebrows, thick lashes, and perfectly angled jaw look gorgeous. The longer I stare at his eyes, the more I see it properly. I just can't remember when I saw him.
His vivid and deep-set eyes are pitch black like they don't want you to see more than what you're allowed to.
I stopped staring at him when I felt a rough hand wrap around my ankle. My hair stood up and he removed his hand that was holding it.
He let go of me and immediately stood up.
He looked down on me again with concerned eyes
''Call Tamara,'' he ordered.
A man in his mid-forties immediately left.
He walked backed and started running his fingers through his hair like he's in some problem.
My strength is very low because of the hunger, thirst I feel and because of the exhaustion of running after Papa's bodyguards chase me.
When I moved my body and was about to stand up, I screamed at the pain I felt because of the wound I got on my left leg.
He looked at me with a stern expression. His lips were in a thin line and his hair fell majestically just inches closer on his forehead.
''Did you call me, sir?'' an old woman in a maid's uniform appeared.
The woman looked confused at me. She's just there asking the man if he needed anything.
"Take care of him and treat his wounds." the man said coldly.
He left and turned his back on us after instructing the maid to do something for me.
The woman came closer and lifted up my dress so she could see the wound on my leg. She grabbed my hand and held it to help me stand up.
''Ma'am, take it easy and I'll take you inside so your wounds can be treated.'' she said calmly.
''I'm really sorry that I interrupted you.'' I cried while looking at my way.
''That's okay ma'am, what happened and you got this.'' the maid asked worriedly.
''Ah-h...it's a long story.'' I stammered.
The maid took me to a room. She made me sit on the sofa and got me some medicine to treat my wounds.
She took a piece of cotton and put betadine on it,she touched it to my wound. Her placement is just gentle. then an elastic bandage was applied to prevent infection.
I searched the whole room, it is modern looking. It has a complex design that really attracts the sight of people who enter the room. It has a geometric-shaped coffee table, a lampshade, it's just modern. There is a couch and a long sofa that I am sitting on now.
While I was looking at the furniture, someone suddenly knocked on the door. The maid stood up and opened the door.
The man who was in front of me earlier on the beach entered. He is now wearing a white vneck tshirt and a black shorts, and it looks like he just took a shower because his hair is still wet.
He looked damned fresh. He licked his lower lips and looked at me.
I stare at him and it's like I've seen him before in some place or in a party.
''Tamara is he okay.'' he asked worriedly.
''It's okay sir. I have finished treating his wound.'' Tamara said politely.
''Thank you Tamara, Sege, get him something to eat, he might be hungry.'' he ordered.
Tamara left.
The sofa shook because of the man sitting next to me. I immediately got nervous and felt like I was catching my breath because of the nervousness.
He looked at me.
''Miss, are you okay?'' he asked in a husky voice.
I just nodded.
''By the way what happened to you Miss?'' he asked curiously.
''Ah-h...'' my tears are falling,'' because my father wants me to marry a rich man and I don't know him so I ran away and this is what happened to me.''
''What? He's rich, why didn't you marry him?''
''I don't want people to think I'm a gold digger, and I don't know him and I don't love him. I don't want to marry a man without love.''
''What is your name?''
''I am Maia Fiona Montalban, daughter of a famous businessman and a haciendero, Mario Montalaban.'' I answered.
''What? Are you the daughter of a famous businessman and haciendero? What the-'' he cursed.
''Yes, I am the daughter of a rich haciendero and-'' I couldn't finish the last words as the door opened.
When we looked, it was Tamara who came back with a tray with only food.
"Sir, here it is."
"Just put it on the table, so Maia can eat."
''okay sir.'' she placed the tray on the table.
''What else are you going to order, Sir?'' she asked the man I had not known before.
'' Please prepare the guest room so that Maia can rest.''
'' Alright Sir.''
''Don't worry, I'll be here.'' I said shyly.
''No.'' he objected.
''But-''
''I know, It's just a simple thing, Maia, so don't be shy.''
I thanked him. He left and closed the door. I ate the food placed on the table. It is a pork menudo, the aroma, and the taste. I also drink the cold orange juice because I am very thirsty.
