Chapter 1 - A New Day

It was nine in the morning, the sun already rose, and the sleepy Rossville area of New York was quite awake. A cool breeze coming from the ocean flows through a beautiful community. Few people can be seen walking, some doing morning exercise. Others are already on their way to their respective jobs.Peter is doing his usual routine, jogging with his best buddy, Tom, a beagle. While jogging, he just crossed a red, beautiful house. While passing, he missed a silhouette of a small structure by one of its windows. A boy between five and six years old with silky raven hair, deep ocean eyes, and a sharp facial feature is seen standing in front of the window, seemingly lost in thought. Anyone will be lost looking at those aquamarine eyes."Richard, wake up. Breakfast is ready."

The sudden intrusion snapped him out of his thoughts. Richard took a deep breath and blew out some mouthful air.

'huuhaaaa... it's the second of January 1980. What a fine day to start a new day. Here goes nothing.'

With that thought, he took the stack of pages from the table and left his room.

At the kitchen table, a couple going on with their work. A fine, beautiful raven-haired woman in an office suit going about serving breakfast. Meanwhile, a fine-looking man with sharp features sitting on the breakfast table reading today's newspaper.

They're Hanna and Davin, also known as the Jackson couple. They have very successful careers and are well-known among their respective circles. One of them is a lawyer, the other a financial investor. Richard is their only son. Being a child of this kind of family is both a pressure and a blessing.

After finally entering the kitchen, Richard greeted his parents first and put the paper stack on the table.

"Morning, Mom and Dad."

"Morning."

After returning the greeting, they gazed at the stack of paper on the table and then looked at Richard with such intensity that their gaze could poke a hole in his body.

Richard got stiff and nervous- like he did something wrong seeing their look. With a bit of hesitation, he says

"ummm... Dad, can you look at this."

Ricard pushed the stack of papers in front of his father. Curious, both parents looked at the papers only to be surprised. This stack of papers was manuscripts. There must be multiple writings in it, looking at the size.

"Did you write this?" Hanna asked with a slight skepticism in her tone.

He just bobbed his head up and down. Now interested in what their son has brought, they carefully go through the manuscript.

The Scrpit is a long story about an adventure of a clown fish named Marvin looking for his lost son Nemo with a blue tang companion named Dory. Besides that, there are a bunch of short stories centered around the main story, creating a beautiful marine world of taking fish.

The theme already hooked them, but the more they read, the more they are pulled into the story. Sometimes, they laughed, and often, they got shocked. All in all, they were mesmerized.

After they finished reading, it took some time to get out of the zone they were in. The first thing that came to their mind was that it was an excellent piece of writing, and the author did a fine job writing it. Suddenly, their mind blew away by an epiphany. It's their son. It's their five-year-old son who just wrote a novel, a beautiful one at that. And let's not forget about a bunch of short stories, too. And what's even more head-turning is that all of these wonderful stories together from a beautiful world.

The fact that their son had crafted an entire world through his writing was truly astounding. As they gradually calmed themselves, doubts began to seep in. Was it truly possible that their five-year-old son had written all of this? Or could it be that their son was somehow possessed? Then again, considering his exceptional abilities, perhaps it was within the realm of possibility for their little prodigy to achieve such a feat. Subverting expectations was his forte, after all.

"Son, my god! They are very excellent. But did you write this?" Davin asked. His voice is full of surprise with a sprinkle of tension and confusion. If you can taste emotions, you can even identify a touch of wonder.

Richard blushed, "Ummm... Yeah.... " in a shy manner, he replied, then with a little bit of voice, he continued, "You see, papa, I always had these fun stories in my head, but after a few days, I tend to forget about them. So, out of frustration, I thought why not write them down." he paused, to put up a show that he is thinking and formulating words.

"Then one day, I got an inspiration, and I started writing it." he continued with a cute act. "It took me a long time to write this. It was hard even for me to find the perfect words to describe what was in my head," he added while bobbing his head like he went through a great experience,

"I have been writing it for a few months and finally finished it today." he concluded, while on the side note adding, "Oh, and those short stories are the inspirations I had while writing the story."

There was a pause after Richard finished his explanation. His parent looked at him unblinkingly for several seconds before David let out a small chuckle and shook his head.

Meanwhile, Hanna asked with a small smile,

"It's a fine story, Richy. I am very much proud of you for finishing it."

He beamed at the compliment. Then Hanna added, "But if I am not wrong, you want to publish it, right?"

" Hmm, hmm." Richard nodded. "I would like to publish it."

"Hmm, I suggest publishing the main story in segments and the short stories in a newspaper first. Once the stories gain enough traction, we can apply for publication to gain maximum popularity. How does that sound, honey?"

Jumping in the air with three claps, he excitedly replies, "Great idea, Mom!" not before giving a thumbs up to his mother.

"By the way, what is the name of the story?" Hanna asked."Its name is 'Finding Nemo'," answered Richard.

"Well, Richy, it's a very nice name," David replied, entering the conversation. "Thanks, Dad!!!"

"And you're in luck; I have a friend at The New York Times. He can help with publishing these stories," David added.

"Really!!!" Richard cheered and rushed towards his dad, "I love you!!!!" he continued while hugging David.

"Ha ha ha... but I have to say you have quit the imagination there. I have no idea how you came up with these stories." laughed David.

"That's very true, dear. You have a great mind, son," replied Hanna.

Richard can only laugh warily. After all, he can't say that he has seen it in an animation with this story 13 years from now.
