The primary reason Anos chose to endure the hardship of implementing the kingdom's economic reforms directly was his desire to avoid over-reliance on external systems in the future.

Previously, the system handled all grain purchases, which gave Anos a sense of security.

However, now that the Tru Kingdom has advanced significantly, it is time to establish sustainable methods for economic progress.

During an evening meeting, Kaien, a middle-aged man in his forties, stood up.

Once regarded as the most capable aide to the former king, he is now a prominent figure among the kingdom's civil servants.

"Your Majesty, you have proposed numerous plans this time. How long should the Council take to provide a comprehensive response? Regarding many of the finer details, it will be difficult to reach a consensus quickly."

"In particular, national laws often require adjustments based on actual conditions. Furthermore, in terms of the people's livelihood, if the kingdom heavily subsidizes the restoration of traditional farmlands while moving away from flower cultivation, the short-term cost will be significant. Has Your Majesty considered this?" Kaien asked carefully.

This meeting, spanning the entire day, revolved primarily around these two key topics. While other policy standards could be approved as long as they were reasonable, the issues Kaien raised were far more complex.

Adjusting laws demands time to accommodate the kingdom's realities while shifting the economy involves considerable expenditures.

These two aspects represent transformative reforms for the entire kingdom.

Having deliberated on these matters beforehand, Anos smiled calmly. "Minister Kaien, your concerns are valid. However, the kingdom's weaknesses have become glaringly evident. It is critical to address them now, while the opportunity exists, rather than waiting until the kingdom's economy stabilizes and reforms could cause widespread disruption."

"Your Majesty proposes addressing shortcomings head-on, which indeed seems optimal. However, do you think the people will accept transferring a significant portion of the economy to Alabasta?" Kaien asked.

"Minister Kaien, there is no need for concern. The kingdom's industrial strength is sufficient to support the population. Overcrowding industries here aren't ideal for us, but Alabasta offers new opportunities. Expanding to their markets not only ensures growth but also strengthens our kingdom's stability," Anos replied confidently.

"I trust your judgment, Your Majesty. Upon my return, I will carefully analyze the meeting's details and draft a comprehensive plan for your approval," Kaien said with resolve.

Although the Senate holds the authority to decide on major domestic affairs, they hesitate to fully commit to reforms of this magnitude without thorough deliberation.

As the head of the Council of Ministers, Kaien sometimes struggled to understand Anos's strategies since his ascension to the throne.

However, the undeniable progress the kingdom had achieved under his leadership garnered widespread trust.

Despite occasional disagreements, few dared to oppose Anos's proposals. The Council's primary role was to refine his ideas, ensuring their practical implementation.

The kingdom's steady progress was a testament to this collaborative approach.

Even after the meeting adjourned, the palace buzzed with activity. Council members gathered in groups, eagerly discussing the 80 proposed reforms.

These changes promised to significantly benefit the people and marked a dramatic shift from past policies.

Anos observed the spirited discussions with satisfaction. While he outlined the general direction, it was up to these ministers to develop detailed plans.

However, implementing such comprehensive reforms would take more than a year. For example, the most critical changes regarding people's livelihoods alone would require at least six months of careful planning and public engagement to ensure understanding and acceptance.

A Week Later

Anos stood on the hill behind the palace, facing a massive spatial portal. The swirling black vortex emanated an eerie aura, its abyss-like depths striking fear into first-time viewers.

Behind him, a long line stretched down to the mountain's base, tens of thousands of people waiting to step through the portal. Standing closest to Anos was Zen, his expression stern and his posture disciplined.

The group behind him, clad in matching black combat uniforms, exuded an air of seriousness and strength.

Even experienced warriors like Abona were awestruck by the portal's ominous presence.

Carrying large black backpacks filled with essentials, the travellers understood that crossing this threshold meant at least two years away from home.

Yet none hesitated their resolve to protect the kingdom unwavering.

The concept of service and sacrifice had been deeply instilled in their hearts, and they were ready to embark on this journey for the sake of the Tru Kingdom's future.
