Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 Necklace

Finally breaking the silence, she suggested, "Let's take a walk. It's beautiful out here."

"Isn't it dangerous…? In the forest at night?" he replied, glancing around. "This place is safe for some reason. The Warcraft doesn't come here." He didn't mention that they likely sensed his aura and didn't dare to wander too close.

"Did you forget I'm pretty strong? I can protect you," she said, slowly taking his hand.

Hun Yu's heart skipped a beat as Yun Yun's hand gently wrapped around his. Her touch was warm, grounding him in the moment, though his gaze instinctively flickered to where their hands met.

As they walked through the forest, the gentle sound of rain started to fill the air. At first, it was a light drizzle, but soon the drops grew heavier, drenching them both. Yun Yun laughed softly, her hair sticking to her face as she glanced at Hun Yu, who was clearly trying to hide a smirk.

"We should head back," Yun Yun suggested, tugging gently on his hand. "Before we get completely soaked."

Hun Yu nodded, and together they made their way back to the cave. The flickering light of the campfire greeted them as they stepped inside. Yun Yun shivered slightly, and Hun Yu, noticing, added more wood to the fire, bringing warmth back into the small space.

Hun Yu's gaze drifted toward Yun Yun, her hair slightly wet from the rain, glistening in the firelight. There was something captivating about the way the damp strands clung to her face, accentuating her delicate features.

She looked even more beautiful, like a scene painted in soft, glowing hues.

Yun Yun pulled her knees close, resting her chin on them as they talked late into the night.

They shared stories, memories, and even a few quiet laughs, while the sound of the rain pattered outside, creating a cocoon of peace around them. Hun Yu couldn't help but admire how effortlessly graceful she was, even in the simplest of moments.

As the night wore on and the first hints of dawn began to color the sky, Yun Yun's expression shifted, a soft sadness crossing her face as she looked out at the still-falling rain. Her voice was barely above a whisper when she spoke, "It's still raining. I wanted to see the sunrise."

Hun Yu glanced at her, noticing the hint of disappointment in her voice, and his heart tugged in response.

After a moment of thought, he spoke gently, his voice carrying a soothing warmth.

"You know... if it's Yun Yun who wants the rain to stop, then I will pray to god wholeheartedly to stop the rain," he said with a gentle smile, his tone sincere. "I've heard that if you pray with all your heart, sometimes your wishes are granted."

He gazed at her fondly, knowing full well that instead of praying, he would discreetly use his powers to clear the skies, ensuring that her desire to see the sunrise would be fulfilled.

Hun Yu's gentle words lingered in the air as Yun Yun glanced up at him, a soft smile tugging at her lips, but there was skepticism in her eyes. She shook her head lightly. "I don't think that'll work, Hun Yu," she said, her voice carrying a quiet laugh. "Praying doesn't change the weather."

"It will if we do it wholeheartedly," he insisted, his gaze warm and earnest. "Let's pray together, Yun Yun. Trust me."

She blinked, caught off guard by his sincerity. His confidence, however, made her hesitate. After a moment, she let out a soft sigh, closing her eyes. "Alright," she whispered. "But don't be disappointed when it doesn't work."

Hun Yu smiled, watching as her lashes fluttered shut, her expression calm and peaceful. His heart stirred at the sight of her, her damp hair framing her delicate face, the subtle firelight making her appear almost ethereal.

As Yun Yun's eyes remained closed, Hun Yu focused his thoughts, quietly gathering the vast power.

Being a Fighting Saint meant he had control over space itself, and manipulating the weather was a mere flicker of effort for him.

He reached out with his mind, carefully bending the space above them, moving the clouds that had shrouded the sky. Slowly but surely, the rain began to ease, the dark clouds parting to reveal the first light of dawn.

Yun Yun, unaware of his silent intervention, kept her eyes closed, her lips moving in a soft, hopeful prayer. When she finally opened her eyes, she gasped.

The rain had stopped, and the soft glow of the sunrise began spilling over the horizon, bathing the world in gentle golden hues.

"It… it stopped," she whispered, her voice filled with wonder.

"Hmm, see? I told you," he said, trying to appear nonchalant, though a glint of amusement flickered in his eyes.

"Yes..." she muttered softly, her gaze slowly drifting over the beautiful morning, made even more breathtaking by the fresh scent and gleam left by the rain.

As the sunlight poured through the cave entrance, Yun Yun winced, her hand moving to rub her lower back. "Ah… my back feels a little sore," she admitted quietly.

"You need to rest properly," he said. "Let's go inside."

They moved deeper into the cave, where the warmth of the lingering campfire welcomed them.

Hun Yu gestured toward a simple bed made from thick blankets and cushions. "Lie down for a while. You'll feel better."

Yun Yun felt a sudden flutter in her chest, but she gave a small nod, trusting him. She lay down on her stomach, her face brushing against the soft cushions.

As she settled, she couldn't help but notice the faint, masculine scent clinging to the fabric—Hun Yu's scent.

It was a mix of clean earth and something she couldn't quite place, but it sent a warmth coursing through her, making her heart race just a little faster.

She felt a sudden heat rise in her cheeks. Why am I feeling like this? she wondered, biting her lip as the smell of him filled her senses.

Hun Yu knelt beside her, close enough for Yun Yun to sense his presence more keenly. "I'll help with your back," he said softly, his voice low and comforting.

Yun Yun's heart skipped a beat. She could feel the heat of his body near her, and as his hands gently touched her back, an unexpected wave of warmth spread through her skin.

His fingers were careful, skillfully massaging away the tension in her muscles, but each touch made her breath catch ever so slightly.

Her face grew warmer, a light blush creeping across her cheeks. She closed her eyes, trying to relax but unable to shake the awareness of his every movement.

His hands, firm but gentle, sent tingles down her spine with each slow, deliberate press.

"Is this better?" Hun Yu asked quietly, his voice seeming closer now, intimate.

Yun Yun swallowed, her lips parted as she tried to steady her breath. "Y-Yes... it's… it's much better," she whispered, her voice barely above a murmur.

The sensation of his touch, combined with the lingering scent of him on the bed, made her feel an odd mix of comfort and something else—something she hadn't felt before. Her face flushed, embarrassed by her own reaction, but she didn't want him to stop.

Hun Yu's fingers had just grazed a particularly tense spot on Yun Yun's back when the soft moan escaped her lips.

"Ahmm!~~"when the soft moan escaped her lips.

The sound was faint, almost unintentional, but it carried in the stillness of the cave. Yun Yun's eyes widened in shock at the noise, her face instantly burning as she quickly slapped her hand over her mouth, mortified.

Hun Yu froze, his fingers still resting against her back. His eyes flickered with a momentary surprise, though his expression remained calm, as if he hadn't noticed the sound at all. But Yun Yun knew he had. She could feel the tension in the air, the closeness between them now palpable.

"I…" Yun Yun struggled to speak, her heart hammering in her chest, but her words trailed off, unable to find any explanation.

Her entire face was burning, the heat spreading to her neck as she hid her face in the cushions, praying the ground would swallow her whole.

Hun Yu, after a long pause, resumed his massage, though his touch was now even gentler, as if mindful of not overwhelming her. His voice, when he spoke, was low and soft, "It's fine. You're just tense. Try to relax."

His calmness only made her feel more embarrassed, but there was a comforting warmth in his words.

Yun Yun squeezed her eyes shut, trying to ignore the way her body seemed to react to his touch.

Each press of his fingers sent tingling sensations through her skin, her muscles easing under his careful movements, yet her mind was in turmoil.

She bit her lip, willing herself to stay quiet, though the combination of his scent, the warmth of his hands, and the intimate atmosphere made it increasingly difficult.

Every part of her was overly aware of him—his nearness, the steady rhythm of his breathing, and the way his fingers moved expertly over her back.

After what felt like an eternity, Hun Yu slowly pulled his hands away, the warmth of his touch fading. "That should help," he said, his voice a little softer than before.

As Yun Yun stood up, her face flushed, no matter how much she tried to hide it. She couldn't conceal it from Hun Yu's sharp eyes.

Yun Yun felt heat rising in her cheeks. Why am I feeling like this? she wondered, biting her lip as his scent lingered in her senses.

Soon, they left the cave for a walk.

The forest surrounding them was eerily quiet, and Yun Yun's instincts immediately sensed something was wrong. Her hand hovered over the hilt of her sword, her eyes scanning the treeline.

Hun Yu, walking beside her, seemed more interested in the scenery than any potential danger. "It's nice to be outside after all that time in the cave," he commented casually, oblivious to the tension in the air.

Yun Yun's gaze flickered to him. He doesn't even sense them it makes sense after all he is not a cultivator

Suddenly, a low growl shattered the stillness. From the shadows, three enormous Warcraft emerged, their glowing red eyes fixed on them. The creatures' thick, armored hides gleamed in the dim light as they lunged forward with deadly intent.

Yun Yun reacted without hesitation. In a fluid motion, she drew her sword and stepped forward to meet the first creature. Her blade flashed, severing its legs in one graceful strike, sending it crashing to the ground before delivering a fatal blow to its head.

"Stay behind me!" she ordered, her voice firm and commanding. There was no time for explanation. The second Warcraft charged, claws raised, but Yun Yun dodged with the speed of a seasoned warrior, bringing her sword down in a swift arc that cut through the creature's spine.

Two down.

Hun Yu stood frozen. "You're... really good at this."

Yun Yun shot him a sharp glance, a mix of concern and frustration crossing her face. "Pay attention!" she warned. "There's still—"

A rustling from the bushes caught her attention. Her instincts flared as she realized too late that the third Warcraft had circled behind them, its eyes locked on Hun Yu, who remained unaware of the danger.

"HUN YU!" she screamed, heart racing.

The beast leapt from the shadows, aiming for Hun Yu's back. Without thinking, Yun Yun dashed forward, faster than he could react, and threw herself between him and the creature. Her sword flashed in an upward slash, severing the beast's head mid-air. Its lifeless body collapsed behind Hun Yu.

Hun Yu, startled, turned to see the massive creature twitching on the ground. He blinked. "Oh… I didn't even notice that one."

"And it was a rank 4 Magial beast"he thought

Yun Yun stood before him, chest heaving as she caught her breath, her sword still dripping with blood. Wiping the blade clean on her sleeve, she cast him a stern look. "You didn't notice because you have no idea how to protect yourself," she snapped, frustration clear in her voice. "If I hadn't been here…"

Yun Yun didn't continue her sentence, but Hun Yu knew exactly what she was about to say.

Trying to ease the moment, he smiled lightly. "Don't worry, Yun Yun. I know I'm not as strong as you, but I can handle these beasts. They don't come near my cave anyway. So, I'm safe."

Yun Yun's cheeks flushed slightly as she turned her head away, arms crossed defensively. "Who's worrying about you? I'm just saying," she huffed, her tone sharp with a hint of embarrassment.

Hun Yu raised an eyebrow, bemused. "Right… just saying," he echoed, recognizing the familiar edge in her voice that always surfaced when she was trying to hide her concern.

Yun Yun pretended to focus on something else, her voice softening. "If you got hurt, it'd just be… inconvenient. That's all."

Hun Yu's smile grew. "Of course, I wouldn't want to inconvenience you."

After Some more hours Yun Yun Finally said

"Hun Yu, I'll be leaving today," Yun Yun said quietly. Though a part of her longed to stay longer, her duty as the sect master weighed heavily on her. She was responsible for the Misty Cloud Sect—how could she afford to linger?

Hun Yu blinked, his expression faltering. "Oh… then I guess the next time you'll come back will be next year, right?"

Yun Yun shook her head. "No, I'll come back in five or six months. I'll need to gather some materials that only the Amethyst Lion King has, to make a pill for disciple."

Hun Yu's eyes widened slightly. "The Amethyst Lion King? I've heard it's terrifying."

Yun Yun smiled, just a hint of amusement in her expression. "might be, but it's something I have to do."

Hun Yu paused, then remembered something. "And your disciple... she's going to call off her engagement soon, right?"

Yun Yun nodded. "Yes. It was arranged by her family when she was born. I don't want her bound to something she didn't choose, so I gave her permission to break it off."

Hun Yu looked at her with a soft admiration. "You really care about your disciple."

Yun Yun brushed it off, though a small blush touched her cheeks. "It's just my duty."

Hun Yu grinned, then asked teasingly, "And how's your sister Yun Zhi, the great sect master of the Misty Cloud Sect?"

Yun Yun's shoulders tensed for a brief moment at the mention of her supposed sister. She had once told him that the sect master was her sister to avoid revealing her true identity.

But Hun Yu knew the truth. He played along because he understood why she hadn't told him—perhaps she wanted to be treated normally, not as the lofty sect master.

She quickly composed herself, trying to sound casual. "She's... fine, busy with sect affairs as always."

Hun Yu chuckled, a knowing glint in his eye. "I'm sure she is."

Yun Yun's lips pressed into a thin line, feeling a little flustered. She could tell he wasn't buying her story, but she didn't want to admit the truth just yet.

Instead, she turned her gaze toward the horizon. "I should go."

Hun Yu's expression softened, and for a moment, there was silence between them. "Take care, Yun Yun."

She nodded, her heart feeling a strange pang of reluctance as she turned to leave. "I'll see you in a few months."

"Wait…" Hun Yu said, suddenly stopping. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a beautiful silver necklace that glimmered in the sunlight, capturing Yun Yun's attention instantly.

Yun Yun turned back, surprise evident in her eyes as he approached her. The necklace was elegantly crafted, featuring a small golden crystal that sparkled like a captured star. It felt both delicate and powerful.

"I wanted to give you this," he said, his tone earnest. "It's not just a necklace. Just keep it around you at all times."

Her brows furrowed in curiosity. "Hun Yu, what do you mean?"

"It's a good luck charm," he replied, his voice steady despite the unease bubbling beneath the surface. "I thought it might help you stay safe during your travels."

Yun Yun's heart raced at the gesture, and she felt warmth spreading through her. "You didn't have to do this…"

"I know," he said gently. "But I wanted to. It'll protect you. Just… keep it close."

As he fastened the necklace around her neck, Yun Yun felt nothing unusual about it—it seemed like any other ordinary necklace, resting lightly against her skin.

There was no surge of energy or mystical feeling that she had half-expected after his words. It was just a simple, elegant piece of jewelry.

"Thank you," she murmured, her voice soft and sincere, genuine appreciation shining in her eyes.

She wanted to press further, to understand what he was really hinting at, but something in his gaze stopped her. He was hiding something, that much was clear, but she could sense it wasn't out of malice—perhaps, it was just his way of showing care.

"Well," she finally said, smiling warmly, "if it's from you, I'll trust it." Her hand brushed lightly over the necklace, it felt no different from any other jewelry.

Hun Yu's expression softened. "That's all I ask. Just… keep it on, alright?"

"I will," she promised, still curious but unwilling to pry further.
