Chapter 20 - Explosion.

Paragus' POV

As was my habit, I roamed around the broken ship that could be the only key to get us off this planet, only to be disappointed a few minutes later, just like every other day. It was my curse, trying to fix something that was beyond repair, driven by the stubborn hope of escaping this wretched place.

But something had been bothering me lately, Broly. He seemed to dislike the food more than usual and was eating less than he used to. He was also wandering off more frequently, and for longer stretches of time.

'He must be hiding something from me,' I thought, suspicion gnawing at me. But what could Broly possibly be hiding? This planet was desolate, a wasteland except for the vile creatures that roamed within it. I couldn't fathom what secret he might be keeping, and that frustrated me. He had never kept anything from me before.

So I decided that today, I would follow him. Of course, this wouldn't be simple, I had trained him myself and knew how sharp his senses were. He'd easily pick up on any attempt I made to trail him if I wasn't careful.

First, I would confront him directly. Perhaps by doing so, I could gauge his reaction, observe his demeanor. Being alone with me on this planet for decades had made Broly rather naïve in some ways. He had no reason to lie to me, or so I thought.

Paragus waited until the time was right, when Broly had finished eating the little portion he'd taken and was about to wander off again. I approached him, trying to keep my voice casual.

"Broly," I called out, and his head turned towards me, those innocent eyes looking at me with curiosity. "Where are you heading off to? You've been... disappearing more often these days."

Broly hesitated, his eyes flickering to the side, a sure sign that he was hiding something. My suspicions flared, and I took a step closer, my eyes narrowing. "You know you can tell me anything, don't you, Broly? We're in this together, remember?"

He opened his mouth, then closed it, his gaze shifting away again. My patience thinned, and I could feel my heart pounding in my chest, a mix of fear and anger. What could he possibly be keeping from me? Was there someone else here? Was he in danger?

"Broly," I said, my voice firmer now. "Tell me the truth. What have you been doing out there?"

Broly finally spoke, his voice barely above a whisper. "I... I've been training." He paused, his eyes meeting mine, and for the first time, I saw a flicker of something new in them, a kind of determination, but also fear. "With someone."

My blood ran cold. With someone? My mind raced, and a surge of anger coursed through me. "Who?!" I demanded, my voice echoing across the barren landscape. There wasn't supposed to be anyone else here. We were alone, we had always been alone.

Broly flinched at my tone, but he didn't back down. "His name is Gohan. He's strong, and he's been helping me train. He... he gives me food too."

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Another Person? Here? And Broly had been meeting with him, hiding it from me, eating food that wasn't the disgusting creatures we'd always had to survive on? My vision blurred with rage.

"How long?!" I snapped, my voice trembling. "How long have you been meeting with him?"

"A few days," Broly admitted, his voice still calm, almost as if he didn't understand the gravity of the situation.

I could feel my heart pounding painfully, my mind clouded with a mix of betrayal and fear. Someone was influencing my son, my way of revenge. Someone had come to this planet and managed to get close to him, to manipulate him. Who was this Gohan? What did he want?

"Take me to him," I ordered, my voice cold. Broly's eyes widened, and he hesitated, which only fueled my anger further. "Now!"

Without another word, Broly nodded, his face conflicted, and began to walk, leading me toward where he had been training. My hands clenched into fists at my sides as I followed him, each step making my anger boil hotter. Whoever this Gohan was, I would deal with him. No one interfered with my plans. No one.

We moved across the jagged terrain in silence, the weight of what was to come heavy in the air. As we approached a clearing, I saw him, a young man standing tall, his eyes meeting mine the moment we entered. He wore strange attire, his expression calm, almost as if he had been expecting me.

"So, you're Gohan," I said, my voice dripping with contempt. "What are you doing with my son? And how did you come to be on this planet?"

Gohan looked at me, his gaze unwavering. When he spoke, his voice was steady, filled with a confidence that only served to enrage me further. "I came to train with your son since he is quite strong, and how I came to this planet is none of your concern."

Those words were like a slap to my face. Rage exploded inside me, my body trembling with the force of my emotions. But then a thought struck me, if he came here, that means he must have a ship! A maniac grin spread across my face, my heart pounding with excitement. Was this my chance to escape this planet?

"Broly! Immediately eliminate this threat!" I screamed, my voice shaking with urgency. My mind was consumed with a singular hope, escape. This was my chance to leave this forsaken place!

Broly's eyes widened, his gaze shifting between me and Gohan. I could see the hesitation in his eyes, the conflict etched across his face. He didn't move. My command hung in the air, unfulfilled, and my frustration surged.

"Broly! I gave you an order!" I shouted, my voice cracking with desperation. My heart pounded in my chest, my anger laced with fear. I couldn't lose this chance—the possibility of finally escaping this hellish planet.

But Broly still didn't act. He looked at Gohan, and in that moment, I saw something that made my blood boil, trust. He trusted this stranger, someone who had no place in our lives, someone who had dared to come between me and my son.

Gohan stepped forward, his expression calm but resolute. "Broly doesn't have to fight me, Paragus. I'm not your enemy, and I'm certainly not his. You need to understand that."

"Shut up! You think you know anything about us?! About what we've been through!?" My voice rose with each word, my desperation slipping into rage. "Broly, do as I say! Kill him!"

Broly's fists clenched at his sides, his entire body tensing. His aura began to flare, a green glow emanating from his body as his power started to rise. I could see the struggle in his eyes, the internal battle waging within him, a battle between obedience to me and whatever bond he had formed with this Gohan.

"Broly," Gohan's voice cut through the tension, calm yet commanding. He didn't take a fighting stance; instead, he held his hands at his sides, his posture relaxed. "You have a choice. You don't have to follow orders blindly. You are your own person."

Broly's eyes widened, his aura fluctuating wildly. He looked at me, then back at Gohan, his expression torn. The ground beneath him cracked, the sheer force of his internal struggle manifesting physically. The air was heavy, charged with energy as the two conflicting forces within him clashed.

"No! You belong to me, Broly! You will obey me!" I screamed, my voice raw, desperation turning into something darker and more twisted. I couldn't lose control now—not after everything I had endured, not after all these years of suffering. I had sacrificed everything to keep my son close, to one day exact my revenge on the Saiyans and escape this forsaken wasteland.

But now, I felt it slipping through my fingers. I had always thought of Broly as a weapon, a tool that could someday bring me freedom. I raised him in this harsh world, molded him into the ultimate warrior. And yet, right in front of my eyes, my control was fracturing.

Gohan's POV

Broly returned with his father—Paragus, who had likely figured out what was going on. I knew a day like this would come, but it was happening sooner than I had hoped. I needed more time to reach Broly, to teach him to control his emotions, to be more than just a weapon of destruction.

As Broly stood between his father and me, I could sense the turmoil within him. The conflicted energy was palpable—he was torn between loyalty to his father and the freedom I had shown him. Unbeknownst to both Paragus and me, this internal struggle was tearing Broly apart, making him dangerously unstable.

Suddenly, it happened.

"OAAAAAAARRRRRGHHHHH!!!!" Broly screamed, his hands clutching his head as if he was trying to contain an explosion within. His aura flared violently, a blazing green that seemed to consume everything in its path. He had lost control.

'I knew this day would come, the day I'd have to go up against a monster like Broly. But at the same time, it excites me and at the same time terrifies me. Have I become a masochist?' I thought as I assumed my stance, preparing myself for what was to come. Despite my readiness for a fight, I had to try one more time to reach him, to prevent this loss of control.

"Broly! Remember what I told you! Control is everything! Do not let your rage consume you!" I shouted, my voice steady despite the fear clawing at me. But my words couldn't reach him. His eyes were lost, his pupils shrinking as his power exploded. The Saiyan was already too far gone, he was losing himself to his rage.

Paragus saw the danger as well, but his desperation pushed him to a cruel decision. He took out the remote for Broly's collar, his fingers trembling with excitement and fear as he grinned. "I have no choice but to use this," he muttered, almost to himself.

He pressed the button, and immediately, a powerful surge of electricity coursed through Broly's collar. The effect was instantaneous.

"ARRRRRRGGHHHH!!!" Broly screamed in pain, his body convulsing violently. The collar was trying to force him back under control, to contain his immense power. For a moment, it looked like it was working. Broly's muscles relaxed slightly, his aura dimming as his pained screams turned into ragged breaths.

Paragus laughed, his eyes alight with triumph. "Heh! Now, just you wait. Once Broly recovers, he'll take care of you properly. And once it's done, we're taking your ship and leaving this forsaken rock!" He sneered at me, his voice filled with hatred and hope all at once.

But I kept my gaze on Broly. Something wasn't right, the air around him felt different. "You don't even understand what your son is capable of," I said, my voice calm yet filled with urgency. "Look at him."

Paragus turned, and his face went pale.

"N-No... No!" he stuttered, his eyes widening in shock. Broly had shattered the collar. The metal pieces lay scattered around his feet, and his aura began to grow even larger, the green energy raging like a storm. His power was far beyond anything I'd felt before, a chaotic force of pure rage and strength.

"OAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGHHHHHH!!!!" Broly roared, his muscles expanding as his transformation took hold. He was no longer just Broly, he was now the embodiment of pure, unchecked power.

I watched as his aura erupted around him, crackling with lightning-like energy that shattered the ground beneath his feet. The sheer pressure of his energy was enough to make the air vibrate. My heart pounded in my chest. 'I don't have the power of Super Saiyan God, let alone Super Saiyan 3. My only chance is to reach him or abandon him.' The thought of leaving him crossed my mind, but I couldn't, not now. If I fled now, I feel like it wouldn't be the same. I had to act quickly and go full strength from the start. I needed to finish this now!

Broly's gaze locked onto me, his eyes empty of reason, replaced by a fury that threatened to consume everything in its path. His growls rumbled like thunder, his breaths ragged, and every muscle in his body twitched with unrestrained power. The air was thick with his rage, and I could feel the ground beneath us trembling from his energy.

I clenched my fists, feeling the tension coiling within me. "Heh, seems like I really can't reason with you right now," I said, my voice tinged with frustration and acceptance. I had no choice—I had to go all out if I wanted any chance of matching his overwhelming strength.

Taking a deep breath, I began to concentrate, focusing all my energy to a single point. The power within me roared in response, surging through every fiber of my being. I threw my arms to the side, the energy erupting out of me like a tidal wave.

"HAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!" I screamed, my aura bursting outward, a massive column of golden light that shot up towards the sky, shaking the very atmosphere. Bolts of lightning crackled around me, the earth beneath my feet cracking and splintering from the sheer force of the transformation. My aura shifted, the dull grey light turning a brilliant gold, electrifying the air as it blazed with intense power. The energy coursed through me, filling every inch of my body.

This was Super Saiyan 2, my power amplified to an entirely different level. My hair spiked higher, glowing brighter, and arcs of electricity danced around my body, sparking and crackling with every movement. I could feel the immense strength coursing through me, my senses sharpening as the transformation took hold.

"I still can't master it like Super Saiyan 1," I said through gritted teeth, my voice strained with the effort of controlling this volatile energy. "But I have enough control... enough to make it work."

For a long time, I had kept this transformation under wraps, choosing to focus on improving my base form rather than relying on the power of a Super Saiyan. It was a hard decision, one that forced me to confront my limitations and grow stronger without shortcuts. But I hadn't neglected it entirely, I had trained at lost hours, pushing myself in the dead of night, in the moments when I wasn't exhausted from my sessions with Broly.

The air around us crackled as I stepped forward, my eyes locking onto Broly's. He snarled in response, his aura flaring like an inferno as he prepared to attack. The ground beneath him splintered as he lunged towards me, the force of his movement creating a shockwave that shook the very earth. His eyes held no recognition, no reason, only pure, unbridled fury.

'I have to do this!' I thought, my heart pounding as I launched myself forward to meet him. I had to stop him, not just for my own survival but for his sake as well. Broly's power was incredible, but without control, it was nothing more than a curse. I had to end this before he destroyed everything, including himself.
