The covenant
Solar, Eclipse, and Star dance around the kitchen happily, excited about going to a party with the pack of bears. I decide to stay back. I know I need to make a decision. I have to seek out the werewolf. I've spent all this time daydreaming about him, but I still haven't found the courage to approach him.
Cedric and I haven't been on good terms since our argument last week. Even though we had a crazy relationship, he was the closest thing I've ever had to a boyfriend.
"How come you don't want to go to the party," Solar asks.
"I guess I am not in a party mood."
"I think you should loosen up and have a fun time," Eclipse tells me.
I feel a smile hit my face. "I think I have other plans."
A few hours later, I say goodbye to the girls as they leave with Cedric, Colton, and Connor. Cedric seems disappointed that I didn't join them. I walk through the woods, knowing this is where the wolf pack resides. I reached this conclusion after using my locating spells and quietly observing him through the crystal ball.
Closing my eyes, I envision a spell that will disguise my scent. Today, I simply want to watch and observe, getting a closer look at his life and seeing how involved he is with the female wolf I keep noticing.
My eyes finally see them in full view, they seem to be having a meal together sitting around a picnic table. Their laughter brings a smile to my face. They all seem very close to each other. The aggravating part though was seeing her cling to his arm and the way he kissed her on the head. How lucky she must be to feel his touch. They were obviously together and I can tell by the way he looks at her that he was smitten with her.
I see a demon walk up. I heard about these creatures from the bear pack but I was under the impression that they were being destroyed. I cock my head to the side watching one of the wolf boys kiss her.
"Hey, Jane." I hear the alpha speak and just hearing his voice sends shivers down my spine. All my nerves are flying.
Suddenly I see one of the wolf boys and the demon run past the tree. Luckily they didn't notice me. I started panicking. I feel nervous and my palms are sweaty. What if they run back in the same direction?
Feeling a strong grip on my neck I know my suspicions are confirmed I whimper in pain and this gets the Alpha's attention.
He moves over quickly. "What the hell Atohi?"
"She was watching us behind the tree, how very creepy ".
I know I came across as a creep. How do I even explain this?
"I…. I was " I tried to speak but couldn't I started to cough because of the grip around my neck.
"Let her go now." The alpha's words are deep and loud.
I feel being tossed forcefully to the ground.
"Atohi back off." My eyes watch as the Alpha shoves the man.
Feeling soft grips on my arm I'm being pulled up by the boy I've been dreaming of. The one who has captivated my thoughts and my mind.
"I'm sorry, I saw you and got too nervous to say hi." I feel like a little kid trying to speak for the first time; I can barely make eye contact with him. Everything about him makes me feel anxious.
He smiles and gently rubs my face. "It's alright."
"What's your name?" He asked me after several moments of just staring into each other's eyes. It was the most awkward thing but on the other hand, I felt more alive.
"Saturn."
He smiles. "Why don't you be a good girl and go back to where you came from."
I nod.
"Alright." That was the last thing I heard him say.
