The ball came back towards Sam. This time, Sam jumped high. He returned the ball using his head. Stuard took the chance and spiked the ball straight towards Sam.
The spike was too hard. Sam was blown out of the bounds. But the ball got back towards Suard in double speed. Stuard couldn't return it back.
The referee said, "Katsumi's service!"
Katsumi stood up. His head was getting a little fuzzy. He was feeling pain. But he didn't care. Such pain is what made someone a man.
He took the ball and got in position. He tossed the ball and spiked it. The ball aimed straight at Stuard's body. But Stuard turned aside and digged the ball. The ball was now up on the air.
Stuard lingered the ball. The ball was near the net. But Sam was at the back end of the court. He ran towards the ball. But, the ball touched the ground.
The wistle was blown by the referee.
"Stuard-1 Katsumi-0. Stuard's service!"
Stuard took the ball with a grin. Some of the people whispered, "See Stuard's face. That's when he is serious. And that too in service. It's not a good sign. There's no way he would win now. He had faint chance before. But now, no way in he'll would he win."
Stuard tossed the ball so high that it was not visible at all. When the ball came down, he jumped. He crashed his hands on the ball. He hit the ball so hard that the ball got squeezed with his force.
The ball went extremely fast towards Sam. Before Sam could blink his eyes, the ball was on ground.
"Stuard-2 Katsumi-0. Stuard's service!"
This went on. Sam could not see the ball and always lost a point. However, Sam was progressing. He carefully observed the ball. Upon every point lost, he was getting a better grasp of the ball.
Little by little, he was begining to understand the motion of the ball, the speed of the ball and every state of the ball. Unlike real life, ball here was a lot easier to calculate.
"Stuard-24 Katsumi-0. Stuard's service!"
Sam was begining to lose hope. He was begining to noticed that how bad he was and how far he has to go before he becomes a man.
Stuard said to him, "Katsumi, this time, I'll tell where will the ball land. If you can at least send the ball back at least once, I'll acknowledge your skill."
Stuard pointed towards a random spot of Sam's side of the court as he said, "There. The ball will go there."
The crowd began whispering, "Here goes his last shot. He does this to every newbie to show how much difference is there between him and that newbie. Even though he shows the point where the ball will land, he will use his full strength in that shot."
The shot came. The ball came to Sam's side. This time, Sam kicked the ball. His leg fractured. But the ball was returned. Stuard showed no mercy.
He shot the ball with full power again.
This time, the ball crashed on Sam's chest.
