Chapter 38 - Chapter 38: The Ending of the Last Episode Was Really Something, Am I Right?

As the credits played and the Nocedas stopped their screaming, there was great dread at what they had just saw especially the mother and daughter duo in the front row and their loved ones. "Someone or something came home to my house looking like my Luz and my future will be completely fooled! Mija, do you think who or what this is was responsible for sending me those letters that we saw in the Grom episode?" Camila asked Luz and she knew that it was more than a possibility.

"Probably but what is going on here? Is it some sort of shadow demon or something? A clone or an alternate dimension doppelganger?" Luz asked freaking out and she was not alone. Her friends were gobsmacked, Hooty was full blown freaking out and next to her Amity was wondering about the horrible implications here. If there was an evil fake Luz in the Boiling Isles then hopefully she would be smart enough not to be fooled or this fake Luz could manipulate her to convince her that it's her Luz.

Trying to lighten the mood, one of the human cheerleaders looked towards the blonde haired Samantha and asked "so if you were like crushing on Luz would there be another one mean that you could go for the 2nd one since the normal one is taken by Amity?" Samantha glared at her wondering why she would even think of asking such a thing at a time like this.

"How does this happen? Could this other Luz be an illusion if the Emperor somehow got a witch in the Human realm before he got his hands on the portal then could that be responsible Gus?" Willow asked her friend wanting to think of any explanation for this.

"I don't know, I mean I can get my illusions to talk but to keep this up for how much long it would need for the illusion to come home to Luz's mother and convince her that it's the real deal...." Gus muttered.

"Emperor Belos is bound to have witches powerful enough to do so working in the Illusionist Coven." Edric stated using his head and this was a rare moment where both he and his twin sister knew to take this serious and not try any of their usual jokes or antics.

"Wait a minute! How about a basilisk like the one posing as a school inspector and stealing magic? I know they are meant to be extinct or something but if there was one still alive somehow and wondering about then how can we say there aren't more out there?" King pointed out and they blinked as King had a good idea at the moment.

Steve was fidgeting in his seat from the ending having a suspicion on what was going on and remembering about how one was chased on the day that Luz would have entered the Isles, he had the idea when he saw and King pointing it out only made it more tense for him. "Are you alright there new friend?" Hooty asked and Lilith was quick to but in.

"Sorry Hootificer but Steve was always scared of basilisks ever since reading about them as a kid." Lilith said which seemed to satisfy the house demon.

"Now that we have a minute how about we go on to the next one?" Cornholio suggested and they all looked at him in disbelief.

"After THAT ending you just expect us to go on as if we are to forget about what we just saw? My surrogate daughter's mother is in danger from whatever this fake Luz is and we are supposed to just put it on the backburner until Luz can find Titan's blood so she can go to the human world in the show?" Eda asked outraged and there were mutters of agreement and most didn't notice the 'surrogate daughter' comment.

"You already had a break not too long ago and I am not spoiling you." Cornholio replied with his arms folded and childishly put his tongue out.

"Come on Corny, a good host would let us have some time to recover!" Luz asked and Cornholio glared at her.

"First of all favourite character or not if you ever call me 'Corny' again then I will make you watch the Cats movie and second of all: you are right in that a good host like Joey from earlier who brought you all here to learn from past mistakes and learn about eachother would most certainly give you the time you need to recover from the shocking ending of the last episode. I however am not a good host and brought you here for my own amusement so no you don't get time to recover." Cornholio replied and there were glares. "Fine two minutes." Cornholio said bringing out an hourglass and they guessed this was good as they were going to get.

They did their best to relax and clear their thoughts as the sand ran out and Cornholio went back to his seat and started the next episode.
