Wren's hand buckled to percys as they walked down the halls
Ronin was slacking behind; the semester had ended fast, he hadn't bothered to learn anything, and he was pretty much high for what he couldn't remember.
Percy and Wren had settled into their new class, Percy's excitement lingered as he dug into his bag.
Wren sat silently behind him, she looked around the full classroom hesitantly, he heart raced as she quickly stared down at her desk, she didn't like crowds, avoided eye contact, and kept to herself,
As most of the school knew by now.
Ronin's class was boring as usual; his teacher's same old face greeted him at the front of the classroom, where his "special" seat sat right next to the teacher. He scowled as he settled in; the words the boys had said last night echoed in his head; he tapped his foot, looking down at his barely healed hands; the teacher's annoyed voice got louder as she interrupted his thought, " Ronin! She almost shouted, scolding him for who knows what
"Maybe if you spoke a bit louder the whole class could hear you"
A sarcastic grin spread across his face as he lit the cigarette.
Banned from baseball practice this week, the principal's familiar voice flared angrily.
Ronin glared, at the musty glasses that hung under his eyes.
The principal walked Ronin through the halls, stopping at the office, he ordered him to sit.
Of course, Ronin directed his attitude as he obeyed, stubbornly sitting down on the cold cement stairs. He was startled as a figure sat down near him, surprised by the wren's lone presence. Her eyes were squinted, and the same broken expression lay on her face.
" What did you do?"
Ronin asked curiously
Wren turned, Im not listening" her raspy voice replied.
Ronin chuckles his voice muffled as he lights another cigarette.
That principle a real pain in the ass"
Ronin continued the conversation, leaving Wren curious.
Want one Ronin asked, avoiding eye contact.
Wren's stiff arm waved it off, They were not drugged, ronin grinned.
There are miracle workers he said pushing it,
Wren held her hand back, hesitantly grabbing it. He placed it in her mouth, and. A bad feeling erupted in her gut as Ronin lit it. Her eyes crossed as she focused on the burning stick that was in her mouth.
Ronin leaned back on the stairs, exhaling a storm cloud of smoke; he could practically see his problems leaving with the cloud tricking himself.
Wren slid her elbows back in the steps, trying to copy Ronin's relaxed figure she was so jealous of.
Wren already knew she would be on these steps for the rest of the day, she had no hope her parents would come get her.
And as she envisioned, it seems she'd rather it didn't happen.
Ronin got up, wrens eyes gliding with him.
"W-Where are you going? Wren mumbled
Do you think I'm gonna sit on these shity stairs all day? Ronin replied stubbornly, I'm sneaking out the gym door if you wanna follow he said without looking back, he then began sprinting down the hall.
Wren's thoughts had caught up with her actions as she quickly spat the cigarette out, coughing vigorously; she slid it carefully off the steps, recovering the air she had lost.
It had been an hour or so before Percy met her by the stairs, helping her up kindly, their hands linking again.
Sorry," Percy said sorrowfully; I guess I probably should've informed the teacher.
Wren shook her head slowly
It's ok," she mumbled, hiding her breath.
Ronin sat outside the gym door spreading between the small wall of rocks against his back, his eyebrows were forced down in an angry expression as he sat up spitting his cigarette out quickly and stomping on it he walked away the loud leaves under his feet, insulting himself his eyebrows begin to bow as his expression changed quickly he almost felt sad,
He would've
"If he had let himself"
Exiting the school, a crowd of students around them, Percy could feel Wren squeeze his hand.
He looked down at her the dark bags under her eyes left him torn inside. Escaping the parameters of the school a shallow forest followed Percy's path home,
Percy"
wren said clearly which scared Percy as his eyes widened under his oval glasses.
"Y-yeah wren?
It's not getting better
I-it never does".
She sounded defeated as it grew more stuttering.
The two had eventually sat down on the hill overlooking the small town, a clearing in the tall grass where they sat.
Wrens' mouth moved slowly as she explained what she would've never wanted to tell.
But Percy's stature, his comforting touch, and his empathetic eyes made it easy to explain to him.
She knew he wouldn't exactly understand but he would make her feel like he did.
The kind of company she had hoped for the most. But she couldn't feel it this time"
"I- I can't keep doing this, Wren said as she gripped her head, her eyes beginning to water.
She could tell Percy was hugging her, but she couldn't feel the warmth she needed. Her mind was swamped with the demons she didn't know were there.
Wren walked silently behind Percy, she was embarrassed to call the RV Park her home as she approached the familiar ground.
Creeping around the back of the park, a small hole in the fence was their gate. As they soon arrived at the back of Wren's "home," a small window was slightly open, as they had done this quite often.
Percy had said his well-appreciated goodbyes before helping her up into the window.
Wren" he said softly
Her head quickly turned at his name.
Please," he said, his eyes filled with sorrow.
Wrens quickly copied before she shut the window slowly.
Percy stood outside the house before a deep sigh escaped him; quickly, he left, retracting the path they had taken.
Ronin lay in his bed, his eyes heavy. He was pleased as he hoped for sleep; suddenly, he whipped up at the sound of his window banging; he quickly opened it, looked outside, and met with the eyes of Noah's group.
Ronin wished it was a dream, his hopes depleted as he crawled out his window his body was tense as he came closer the the boys,
'what the hell do you want?"
Just get your ass down here!"
They respond.
Ronin slowly slides down the roof. He looks around before he shuffles his way off the roof.
Almost immediately, he felt a firm grip on his jacket; his eyes widened as the boys dug through his pockets, grabbing his only cigarette pack, 10 dollars, and some extra change.
What the fuck!"
Ronin snarled, pushing the boys off fiercely, not surprised by the returned shove. Shut up, the boys hissed; someone could hear us.
Hey!" What's going on here, Ronin's father demands as he walks out from the side of the house.
Looking at Ronin waiting for a que,
Ronin looked at the boys and back at his dad shoving his hands in his now empty pockets.
Friends from school.." Ronin lies immediately regretting it inside.
He looked at Ronin, trying to tell if he was sincere, which he failed to do before the boys vanished.
Ronin followed the group. His eyes glided up to the biggest boy; his arms were huge, and it wasn't long before they had reached back and dragged him forward. Ronin tensed up, and he quickly picked up his pace.
Ronin wasn't surprised when the bright neon lights of the bar blinded him, it was dark inside the sound of chatter spread around them.
He leaned on the counter as the eldest ordered. Taking Ronin's money out of his pocket along with collecting from the other boys and an ID, the man's eyebrows grew conspicuous as he glanced at Ronin.
"Yeah, of course, the boy said, reaching into his pockets again; Ronin was surprised when he pulled out a card.
Same was the man as he grabbed it slowly examining it carefully, and your "Hanson?
A grin bolted across the man's face, 32 the man said, chuckling, "Nice try, kids, now get out of here." Just then, the big, long arms Ronin feared slammed on the table in front of him; his voice was deep and demanding.
The bartender started to get stern. Just then, the doors opened aggressively as a tall strong man walked in; his white tanktop was stained and small.
Ronin looked hesitantly up at the man the rest of the bar following.
The man looked familiar; his messy hair and poorly shaved beard stood out to Ronin.
The clerk asked him for an ID, which he received quickly, along with his name and last name.
Suddenly Ronin's head perked up
I-its Watson?" his last name caught Ronin's his eyes wide.
Wren," he said softly to himself, looking up at the man. A haunting feeling eroded through him as the man's cold eyes glanced at him.
