The sun peeked over the horizon, its golden rays spilling into my room. Today was my first day at XORA Academy, the place where young users honed their abilities.
I felt a mix of excitement and nerves as I walked through the towering gates.
The campus buzzed with the sounds of laughter and the chatter of students showing off their skills.
"Hey, Shido!" a familiar voice called out. It was Hiro, jogging toward me, his face bright with enthusiasm.
"You ready for your first day?" he asked.
"Yeah, I think so! But it feels a bit overwhelming," I admitted.
"Don't worry! It'll be fun once you get into it," Hiro said, clapping me on the back.
"I can't wait to show you around."
As we walked through the academy grounds, I noticed a striking figure ahead. A boy with long dark hair stood confidently, surrounded by a group of students.
"That's Zuki Yamada," Hiro whispered.
"He's a rising star here. I've heard he's aiming for Constellation ranks this year."
Zuki turned, his piercing green eyes shining with curiosity.
"Hiro! And who's your friend?" he asked, a teasing smile on his face.
"This is Shido, the birthday boy from yesterday," Hiro said, grinning.
"He just activated his XORA. Adaptation, right?"
"Nice to meet you, Shido!" Zuki said.
"I'm excited to see what you can do!"
"Thanks!" I replied,
feeling a mix of admiration and nervousness. Zuki's confidence captivated me.
With a swift motion, Zuki raised his hand and drew his fingers through the air, mimicking the motion of unsheathing a katana.
"I activate my XORA with a simple ritual," he explained. "With this motion, I call forth my Lighting Katana."
[XORA: Lighting Katana]
[Rank: Mysteria IV]
[Type: Tool]
The sleek katana appeared in his hand, its blade crackling with arcs of electricity. It illuminated his features, making him look even more formidable.
"Wow!" I gasped. "That's incredible!"
"It channels electrical energy," Zuki said, confidence radiating from him. "I'm training hard to master it for the Constellation level this year!"
I glanced at my ring and felt a surge of motivation. "I'm still figuring out my Adaptation skills."
"That's versatile!" Zuki replied, his interest growing. "You could surprise people with that."
Hiro chimed in, shifting the conversation. "Are you two coming to the afternoon training session? That's where everyone really showcases their skills."
"Definitely!" Zuki said.
"You should join us, Shido! We can help you get the hang of your powers."
With my friends by my side, I nodded eagerly. The thought of training alongside skilled users thrilled me.
The training grounds buzzed with energy as we arrived. Students battled and demonstrated their prowess, while others practiced cooperative exercises.
I clenched my fist, the silver ring glinting in the sun. Today marked the beginning of my journey—a day of training, growth, and learning to harness my XORA.
Little did I know, this journey would test my limits and forge bonds that would alter my path forever.
