Chapter 29 - Chapter 28 - Curiosity {part 1}

Leonardo De Von Montreal, The Current Crown Prince and the future Emperor of Rodwine… he surprisingly had no expectations of what he expected from his wife.

Whether she bore him children or not, as long as she knew her place by his side he wouldn't see an issue with it.

All the Duchess is meant to be is a political pawn for his plan to eventually conquer and take over the Eastern Region of Rodwine… That was under the Control of The Grand Duke of Murcadina, Elisabeth Valois Father…

He knew the Grand Duke – The old Man wouldn't let it slide if he dared to hurt his daughter or conquer the east. He knew to tread carefully on this path… if he wanted to make the empire larger?

A ruthless ruler… that is who Leonardo always wanted to be. An Emperor known for the fearful expressions he planted in the eyes of the citizens.

"..."

Leonardo, let out a small sigh as he glanced at the Concubine who lay beside him in his bed

If there was one thing that the Future Emperor of Rodwine liked?

Was it his wife's obedience? Quick to obey simple commands and not lash out at people… her quick thinking saved his own time solving Matters.

She was smart … too much for her own good? Too much intelligence for a woman…

"The Duchess…"

The Crown Prince muttered Elisabeth's title underneath his breath as a small smirk slightly crept onto his face. Something sinister inside of him as he thought of an easy way to take control of the Eastern region

"..."

"This is my world."

"And I? … I demand… The Princess? She's not meant to make any demands from me"

In The Crown Prince's world? There was an order to things. He didn't need a reason for his actions? Nor would he suffer the consequences of it.

Order? It's simple and clear in this world… you don't have to be bright to understand it.

You didn't have to be some genius Or scientist to understand the moral and immoral things that went on in the kingdom? You just had to simply stay up to date, especially when you bend the law to your own will.

Leonardo, slightly glanced at the concubine who was lying beside him on his bed… How many times had he done the deed with this concubine? … more than his wife for sure, he refuses to touch the body of an easterner.

"Hah!'

Leonardo spat, as he slightly Moved the hair Out of Rosette's face, his hand lingering on the smooth and soft skin of her face longer than it should have.

I did not want to see my husband, nor Speak to him… but I had to make sure I had one thing set straight with him.

That I am his wife? We may not act like it in private, But I'd expect that much from the Future Emperor of Rodwine That we act like a happily married couple in public.

Walking up to the guard who was tinned at the door to his part of the palace.

"I need to see The Crown prince, Is he inside?"

"Your Highness? I have been instructed by His Highness to not let anyone inside"

"No matter your position"

I slightly raised An eyebrow as I Looked at the guard, making the tone of my voice more stern as I demanded to be Let in. After all? I am The future Empress of Rodwine!

"I am the Crown Princess! You Can't just deny me seeing my own husband!"

"It's quite important!"

The guard, looking at me with Annoyed look on his face, Frustration maybe? I couldn't really tell beside the stony and gruff exterior he presented.

I ignored the guard trying to stop me, as I quickly stormed my way inside? I didn't want to be stopped, not when I was performing my own duties and making sure that As the wife of my Leonardo, we kept up our appearances.

Walking up the stairs to the chambers, I felt someone in my heart shrink… like something was dawdling and weighing on my heart. Quickly, I pushed that minor feeling aside as I walked inside.

"Your Highness?"

I called out as I slightly glanced around the empty chamber, so quiet that I was able to hear the calming sound of the wind.

"Your Highness!"

"Leonardo!"

I shouted for him as I looked through his chambers wondering where he was and why was that Imperial guard trying to stop me from entering? I practically Owned the palace with my status as The Crown Princess of Rodwine!

I was? After all… the future Empress of this Great empire.

"..."

Confusion??? I could tell, not when I felt that my heart was so conflicted with multiple issues and problems that needed to be desperately solved.

"Hah?"

"You really know how to test my patience, Your Highness"

I muttered under my breath as I felt my own frustration rise inside of me. Where Could this man even be? And why wasn't he in his own chambers?

"Probably walking around The Imperial Palace Grounds, with his concubine"

"Gosh!" I shouted out of frustration as I slightly gritted my teeth. I couldn't find him and I hated that, but I also knew there would be issues between the three Of us if I went to go find him and he was with Rosette.

I don't want to risk an argument or another quarrel With him, not after what happened a couple days ago. The violence in his eyes? The same malice I was used to seeing? I don't want to witness that again.

I quickly walked out of his chambers as I scavenged Throughout the grounds of the Imperial Palace.

"Oh Leo!"

"What do you mean you'll have to dance with the Crown Princess at the Ball?"

"I mean exactly that, My love"

"But I do promise… That I'll dance with you until the night ends"

Leonardo, curtly replied to Rosette as she tightly gripped ahold of his arm. Nuzzling her head slightly into his shoulder as they walked through the Imperial Garden.

"What about the Jewels I gave You?"

"Were they to your liking?"

Leonardo questioned as he looked down at Rosette, slightly stopping in his tracks as she looked back up at him with admiration in her eyes.

"The Jewels?"

"You mean the Amethyst and Emerald Ones?" Rosette said with understanding as she slightly struggled to say some words in the sentence.

A smile always present on the Concubines face as she pretended to be grateful And thankful Of The Crown Prince for his kind generosity.

"In All honesty?"

"I'm quite fond of both of them, Your Highness!"

The concubine, Explained with a gleeful Smile Plastered on her face as she gripped onto The Crown Prince's arm tighter than before.

"Ah? That i see you are my dear Rose"

"Rose?"

The concubine repeated, slightly confused at the prince as she looked up at him. Pretending to be caught off guard by his sudden care for her.

"Yes? I believe a nickname is in accord for my dear Rose!"

"You are — as they say…"

"As sweet as a Rose Petal aren't you?"

The pair let out a joyful laugh, as Rosette slightly leaned closer into Leonardo's shoulder as she rested her head on him as they walked throughout the gardens, the sun gleaming brightly with a sense of promise and hope for a better future.

"Leo?"

The concubine questioned as she looked up at the Crown Prince

"What Lovet… My love?"

The Crown Prince said with no hesitation as he looked down at her, slightly ruffling the top of her hair with his hand.

"The Ball? What do you plan to do then?'

"Ah"

"..."

The Crown Prince, Stammered… Seemingly caught off guard by the concubines questioned before he then Lowered His voice as he said with an ominous tone that had a sense of danger in it.

"You Will see my dear"

"You will see when the day arrives my love"

Leonardo repeated again as he looked down at the concubine, seeing those light icy Blue orbs glimmer with something. Interest? Fear? What was the primal expression on her face apart from innocence?
