"The Venomous Death Lizard is risky. If the case breaks during the heist and someone touches it, we're done for," one of them said.
"Agreed. But merely reporting it won't get us any rewards," another replied, frustrated.
"No bounty for snitching either," a third chimed in.
"We'll need a careful plan," Crafty concluded. "What if we pose as the buyer, snatch it, and extract the poison ourselves? It's versatile and could sell for a fortune."
"Good idea. There's always a market for poison."
Their scheming complete, they masked up and set off.
At the gates of the magic academy, Crafty's group lay in wait for Baron Mime. The baron approached with a swagger, oblivious to the trap.
"I'm the buyer," one of Crafty's crew declared boldly.
