Chapter 4 - new life (2)

You know what I find funny about wizard magic? It's the squandered potential. I mean, I've reviewed my memories again and again, and even Voldemort's memories of magic got me depressed. What kind of idiot tears apart his own soul in hopes of immortality? Doesn't everyone know that immortality is just a hoax? Everything dies; that should be the first obvious rule. Even death dies in the end, and everything turns into nothingness just to be born again. It's called the cycle of life and death for a reason. It's in the name, but I guess there's no cure for human idiocy.

There must be so many ways to achieve long life as a wizard, and I've already discovered one. If you reach the state of trifecta, then the only thing you need after that is to keep your body healthy, and you can live up to 600 years, depending on how strong your body and magic are. Uh, I got distracted again; the idiocy of this fool just gets to me somehow. Anyway, what was I talking about? Ah, yes, wasted magical potential.

You see, wizard magic is a semi-structured magical system. It's like a bastard child born of a relationship between desire, wish, and reality magic. From the spells I have reviewed, it directly bypasses the concepts of white, dark, holy, and demonic magic. As long as you have the intent, imagination, emotions, and a little bit of arithmetic inclination to check beforehand, you can create and use any spell. Well, that's just good for me now that I'm here learning and modifying most of the spells I have with the help of my book of knowledge.

Oh, didn't I tell you why I created that thing? Well, when I was about to sort my memories, the idea just popped into my head: "Why can't I create a book that is directly connected to my mindscape, powered by my magic, to do just about anything I can do in my mindscape but bring it out into the real world?" Now, I know it's a crazy idea that many would think impossible and just brush off, but I lived in the void for a while, so I knew firsthand that anything is possible. And now I'm so thankful for creating it. This book feels like I have a new and fresh mind. It's not sentient by any means; I have to think of what I want it to do for it to function. Believe me, if you have a mind that doesn't get bored of simulating different outcomes for various modifications on spells, then you'd be happy too.

Now, on the topic of my body, it's being reconstructed from the ground up with the help of magic—void, or as I've decided to start calling it "null" energy because I feel that's a more accurate description—and the new natural energy. The natural energy itself started flowing through my core soon after its completion due to my sage skill activating, which began to passively use my energy to purify the surrounding natural energy before absorbing it into my core and then spreading it throughout my body. This created a domino effect that I dubbed "the great pain of rebirth." I'm just kidding; it merely started a simple energy revolt inside my body, where every ounce of energy began to do as it pleased. This led me to the idea of allowing my instincts to take over, which has proven to be the right call, if I do say so myself.

After a while, I entered the stage of what I call body reformation, due to the unified efforts of my energies in transforming my body into the best conductor it can be. It is a painful process, but when you can just enter your mindscape and take refuge in magic and study it, then it's okay. From my calculations, everything should be completed in about a week, and then I'm going to need a lot of food, but that's alright. I'm sure I can figure that out later.

Now, I have been trying to study natural energy, and all I could come up with regarding its properties was the word "nature." It's like someone is saying, "Start by doing your job of purifying nature before studying it."

Anyway, now that I have nothing to do, I'll just have to truly absorb the knowledge I have of magic, especially the knowledge from Voldemort. That piece of work has a lot of magical insights, so I'll need to thoroughly study and analyze it before figuring out a way to tweak them. You see, he's obsessed with what he calls dark and black magic, and to some extent, it's true. But here's the kicker: it's not truly dark magic. It's wizard magic that's inclined towards the desire and emotional aspects of said magic. You see, dark magic is a type of magic that is embedded with the aspect of darkness, and anyone who has such magic cannot use any other form of magic due to its corruptive properties.

Wizard magic can bypass the need to have the aspect of darkness in one's magic by relying on desire, emotion, and a little bit of the wish aspect that's embedded in wizarding magic. That's why I need to tweak the spells before using them. I just fixed my emotional center; I don't want to mess it up again.

You still don't understand? Well, let me give you an example. The death spell that wizards use isn't really dark magic. It taps into the desire and wish aspects of magic, which in turn feed on the dark emotions of the caster to fully charge and accomplish what you intend to do by using this spell. Now, how does it kill? It directly bypasses the need to have the death aspect in the magic and just slaps it onto the spell to kill the target of said spell.

Now, why is it dangerous to use this kind of magic? Because feeding your emotions to magic, be they negative or positive, has consequences like addiction and emotional imbalance, etc., etc.

Five days of hellish pain have passed. Even though I stayed in my mindscape, cut off from painful feedback, I still felt the need to acknowledge what my body has gone through. Now that everything is done, two days ahead of schedule, I feel the need to start working my plan and mess with a lot of people.

I woke up in my body, and everything felt new and different. The sensory feedback was disorienting, my balance was off, and I was famished. Let's get out of here first. Without wasting time, I waved my hand and cast a spell to open the door, beginning to walk through the corridor. Hearing the deranged laughter and heartbreaking cries did not matter to me, because right now, I needed food.

Seeing a man in a guard's outfit, I cast a mind control spell before he could react and ordered him to bring me to where the food is. The kitchen and food storage room here aren't anything to brag about, but they had a week's rations. So without waiting for an invitation, I started eating the vegetables first while opening the fire and letting my magic flow to help me cook the meat. It took me three hours and most of the food here to start feeling like myself again. Ahhh, now this is life. I'll rest for a few hours in my cell again before starting what I set out to do.
