Being the only one who could use mana or chakra in my case, I was the only one who could do missions alone. Since not only could I defeat the baddies, but also heal myself after being injured.
After I'd shouted at those people in the Neutral Zone Plaza, I found most if not all of those thirty people had begun trying out various missions within their limits as they simultaneously tried to better themselves by pushing their bodies to the limits in the Basic missions.
A lot of people had attempted the mission to sense mana, but most of them couldn't even begin to sense anything. This worried them because the deadline Cinzia set was fast approaching and none of them could sense any mana.
It had lit a fire under the butts as people tried asking the maids around the Neutral Zone for advice on unlocking mana after they couldn't collectively figure it out. They even pooled a few points to bribe one of the more 'drunk' maids who had a particularly foul mouth.
But she was pulled away by Agnes before she could make the deal.
Cinzia had to change her timeline to reveal the premise of the false deadline a few days earlier and she did so by making it seem like she was taking pity on the people who hadn't gotten the thousand points required for leaving Neutral Zone.
"Since several of you want to learn about mana and try to get comfortable with using it well, I have a gift for you all.", Cinzia said with a lazy smile but everyone perked up at the mention of Mana.
Even I was anticipating what this energy would feel like, would my body store both mana and chakra or would they be treated interchangeably in my body? Allowing me to use the abilities accessible by both without having to do something special.
"The Chamber of Awakening will open in a week, in there you'll meet the seven gods who will decide on a class for you. That is also when you'll be able to use mana. So be sure to make the most out of your remaining time before you leave the Neutral Zone."
Everyone was excited about this opportunity to meet the Gods of this world.
A few people slacked after hearing about the extended deadline, but most of the people started working even harder.
The thirty people I'd beaten up had even organised a chart with a timetable of what they were going to do in the Neutral Zone for the rest of the two months.
They'd gotten it approved by Maria and Agnes after paying them with a few of their Survival Points and arranging a special meal for them in the cafeteria.
The seven days soon passed and there was a long line of people outside the Chamber of Awakening.
I stood along with them, but most people seemed to be annoyed with me. They looked at me like they wanted to beat me up, but they still held themselves back.
The line moved slowly, with warriors taking the least amount of time, archers taking a little longer, priests taking quite a bit of time and Magicians taking the longest.
After a while when it was my turn, I pushed open the grand doors of the Chamber of Awakening and stepped inside.
My body felt like it was surrounded by a soothing energy that started to blanket me inside a cocoon. It felt like I was being nourished as all the fatigue in my body started to fade.
That was when I heard a voice.
"Is this the one that ate up our future?"
"Don't be so negative and come to the point, he can't stay here much longer."
"He has talent as a Priest!"
"No way! I will not compromise on him being a warrior!"
"What about the other world he is connected to, he needs to be helpful there too!"
"That's not our problem."
"But it has already helped him once before."
"I say let's make him a magician! It would complement his abilities from the other world too."
As the voices continued to debate, the energy that was blanketing around me suddenly started to feel constricting. It seemed to cover my body in a thin spandex sheet that was getting thicker progressively.
In the beginning, I could barely feel it, but as time passed on I started to have difficulty breathing, it took an immense amount of energy just to pump my chest with air before releasing it back out.
The energy wrapping around me still felt good, it just felt like an overly excited dog that was as big as you trying to play with you by pushing you to the floor.
"He has great talent as a Magician! His innate ability will help him become a Unique Ranker in no time!"
"No! Warrior! His talent as a warrior is no less! And that would help him in the other world."
Just as the Goddesses were arguing, I forced myself to speak up even though I was becoming worried about the energy that was killing me with its 'kindness'.
"....Magic Warrior please.", I said as I barely controled my body to speak.
My words brought them to silence for a moment before a goddess with a voice that evoked the feelings of a mother spoke softly.
"How cute…"
"Magic Warrior?"
"But we haven't given anyone such a class as their first class."
"He isn't exactly ordinary to say…"
"He already has a fighting style and disturbing it wouldn't be beneficial."
"His naming sense is as strange as Gula's."
"What did you just say!!!!??????????"
"Magic Warrior it is!"
"Hello! How are you guys ignoring me after calling me strange!!"
"All in support of Magic Warrior let's vote!"
"Magic Warrior."
"Magic Warrior."
"Magic Warrior."
"Magic Warrior."
"Magic Warrior."
"Magic Warrior."
"..."
"Gula what about you?"
"Oh, now you talk to me?"
"Well, it doesn't matter what she says, the majority have agreed, Magic Warrior, it is."
As soon as those words were spoken, I was set free as I exited the Chamber of Awakening, covered in sweat with a strange sensation coursing through my veins.
It felt like I had just had a thorough cleansing.
As my eyes slowly refocused I found myself staring at the several people in front of me as they stood in the queue waiting for me to get out of their way so they could use the Chamber of Awakening.
I calmly circulated Chakra around my body to make myself feel better and stood up straight before walking away from them all and going to bed in the dormitory where I crashed and fell asleep almost immediately.
I thought of checking the class name I'd gotten but I left it for later, it's not like it'll run away or something if I check it a little later.
