Chapter 5 - Accepted!

'I can understand her words somehow.'

'Is it because of the translator blessing of the seven gods of paradise?'

'Whatever it is, I cannot let this chance miss!'

'I need to grab it! No matter whose thigh I have to huh!'

"No! Please let me thank you!"

"No, no, it's alrig-"

The door slammed open with a sharp *thud* and inside the frame lay a beautiful blond woman who was glaring at Shizune.

"If the man wants to compensate us for saving his life then let him!" Tsunade shouted causing Shizune to take on a teary face.

"But Tsunade-sama you'll only end up gambling even more with the money you receive!"

"I'm sure we'll win again! Like I won today!" Tsunade said and then turned towards me without letting Shizune respond, "How much do you have?"

Tsunade's appearance had only hastened my plan, and now I was happy that I could bring it to fruition.

"Tsunade-sama, I support your argument! I must compensate you for saving my life!"

Tsunade nodded while Shizune felt a little sad watching her master being drowned by her greed for money.

"Since my life is very valuable to me, I must compensate you with something of equal value!"

Tsunade's face showed a smile as she nodded and looked at me with her expectations rising.

"...and so to repay you, I shall pay with my life!!!"

Tsunade nodded out of habit but froze mid-nod. "What!?"

I stood up from my bed and deeply bowed to Tsunade as I reached the climax of my short plan, "Tsunade-sama! Take me in as your servant! I promise to carry all your burdens and become the best servant there is to walk by your side!"

"...bu-" Tsunade visibly deflated but before she could become disinterested seeing I had no money on me, I spoke again, "Don't you like gambling Tsunaded-sama! Then I can become the servant who earns the money for you to gamble!"

Tsunade's eyes gained a little life when I mentioned that so I hit it home.

"Just imagine! I earn money and you spend it all away! Isn't that fantastic! What if you'll win using the money I earn for you!? Then you'll have even more money to gamble! It is the best salted-fish approach where you have to do nothing other than gamble!"

Tsunade seemed to ponder over my words as Shizune on the side became stunned. There was a soft silence for a few seconds before Shizune spoke, "No sensei! Slavery is illegal in all the nations!!"

But I had a counter to that!

"It's not slavery! It's my devotion to the person who saved my life!!"

Shizune gave me a not-so-amused smile as I poked my argument into Tsunade's mind but after a few seconds she asked the key question, "How will you earn money?"

"Ah…that's the most simple part! You can teach me healing-" as soon as the words 'teach' and 'healing' left my mouth Tsunade frowned and spoke up, "No, that won't do. Isn't that just more trouble? I must teach you for years before you can do anything useful for me."

"No Tsunade-sama! Worry not! You can make me Shizune's disciple so that I can learn how to heal people and then heal everyone to earn some money that I can give you!"

Tsunade gave it a little thought before looking at Shizune who was shaking her head.

"Hmm…Shizune people say you learn better when you teach someone else! From today I want you to take this boy as your disciple!" Tsunade proclaimed much to my satisfaction.

Even though she said that both Shizune and I could roughly see what she was thinking.

'She just wants to get rid of Shizune to gamble for longer without getting dragged out by her disciple.'

Shizune glared at me, but then I tried to reason with her, "Isn't this nice for all of us? I'll give you more coins and will never ask for a salary! Wouldn't this take off a little burden from you too!?"

Shizune still kept her frown before she walked to Tsunade and pushed her away into another room.

Third Person POV

"Tsunade-sama! Why did you accept a disciple!? We don't even know which village he is from or what his intentions are!" Shizune complained.

Tsunade's eyes sharpened but she spoke calmly, "I know he wants to use me, but I also want to find out what is happening, is there someone behind the scenes who wants to get close to me? I want to know his purpose.-"

"-I haven't seen a plan like this where someone puts themselves in the sights of death just to get to me by using the coincidence that our paths crossed and you healed him. And he somehow even knew that you healed him despite knowing that I'm Tsunade."

"Does he know about your condition sensei!?"

"I don't know, it's too early to tell. But he's very suspicious."

Shizune admired her sensei for thinking so much before Tsunade said, "And I need some free time for myself too! You've become too strict in dealing with me when I gamble! This is your punishment! So reflect on your mistakes!"

Shizune frowned but then with a soft *sigh* asked politely, "What do you want me to teach him?"

"Just give him a few advanced books, I'm sure he'll end up revealing his true reason to be here once he learns the difficulty of learning medical ninjutsu."

"As expected of Tsunade-sama, your ideas are out of this world!" Shizune cheered with Tonton by raising one of the piglet's legs into the air.

But then she frowned and muttered under her breath, "I wish you were this intelligent about gambling too."

"Say something?" Tsunade asked with a smile that didn't fully reach her eyes.

"Haha~ no way Tsunade-sama, you must be hearing things. I only praised you for how awesome you are!"

"Hmpf. Get ready to torture him with facts and information about the human body. Don't teach him any ninjutsu yet, but tempt him with a target, for example, tell him you'll teach him a basic healing jutsu as long as he finishes a few books first."

Shizune nodded and once inside their rooms, they lay on their futon to rest calmly wondering about the secrets of the man who had approached them out of nowhere with unknown intentions.

First Person POV

'Shizune didn't bring me any leftover food…'

'Is this a test to see how determined I am?'

'Well, whatever, all I have to do is pass them and I'll be learning from one of the three Legendary Sanin!'

'I can't believe my luck!'

'Even after being the lowest possible grade, it has brought me to one of the strongest characters I know and love!'

'Tsunade did say she won today…maybe her bad luck is worse than my bad luck?'

'Is it even possible to go lower than low - low?'

'Perhaps this is destiny!'

With nothing left to do, I sat on the bed and began to meditate in hopes of feeling either the mana flowing within me or the chakra that was supposed to be the energy of this world.

And to my disappointment, I could feel nothing.

I did enter a state of zen where I could feel my body better but I felt nothing else other than that.

I kept at it until the next morning when my stomach sounded a loud *growl* indicating my terrible hunger.

*Swish*

The door to my room slid open and I saw Shizune looking at me with a little embarrassment.

"Sorry Mister, I forgot you didn't have lunch!"

"Don't worry about it. Do you accept me as your disciple?" I asked with my eyes practically sparkling.

"Ah…" Shizune's words hung in the air, but after a few seconds she *sighed* and spoke calmly, "Yes, by Tsunade-sama's will and blessings I accept you as my disciple!"

I grew happy.

'Hahahahahahahaha~ This is the start of my plan to dominate both worlds!'
