Vidal walked back into the room, a glass of water in one hand and a small bag of medicine in the other. "Here, Sofia, I brought you some water and some pain medication," he said, his voice soft and gentle.
Sofia's eyes widened in surprise as she took the glass of water from Vidal. "You're a doctor, Vidal. I forgot," she said, feeling a little embarrassed.
Vidal smiled and handed Sofia the medicine. "That's okay, Sofia. I'm used to people forgetting that I'm a doctor," he said, his eyes crinkling at the corners.
Sofia took the medicine and examined the label. "What is this?" she asked, looking up at Vidal.
"It's just some pain medication to help with the swelling and the pain," Vidal explained. "I also brought some antibiotics, just in case."
Sofia's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with questions. How did Vidal know that she needed antibiotics? Did he suspect that Liam had hurt her?
But before she could ask any questions, Vidal spoke up. "Sofia, I need to ask you something," he said, his voice low and serious. "What happened to you? You didn't get those bruises from just falling down, did you?"
Sofia took a deep breath and met Vidal's gaze. "I did it to myself," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Vidal's eyes narrowed, his expression skeptical. "What do you mean?" he asked, his voice gentle.
Sofia felt a surge of shame and embarrassment, but she knew she had to stick to her story. "I...I dug my nails into my skin," she said, trying to sound convincing. "And I bit my lip, that's why it's swollen."
Vidal's eyes widened slightly, and he took a step closer to Sofia. "Why would you do that to yourself?" he asked, his voice soft and concerned.
Sofia felt a surge of panic, knowing that Vidal wasn't buying her story. She knew she had to think fast, come up with a new excuse that would convince him.
Vidal's eyes locked onto Sofia's swollen lip, and his expression turned grim. "This," he said, his finger pointing at her lip, "this is not something you can do to yourself. This is a sign of physical violence, trouble. And I know exactly who could have done this to you."
Sofia's heart sank, knowing that Vidal was getting close to the truth. She tried to look away, but Vidal's gaze held hers.
"It's Liam, isn't it?" Vidal asked, his voice low and even. "He's the only one who could have done this to you. My third brother."
Vidal's expression changed, and he looked at Sofia with a mixture of surprise and amusement. "A hot kiss, huh?" he said, chuckling. "Well, I guess that's one way to punish someone."
Sofia smiled, feeling a sense of relief that Vidal wasn't angry or suspicious. "Yeah, I guess so," she said, laughing.
Vidal grinned and clapped Sofia on the back. "Well, I'm glad Liam's taking care of you," he said, teasingly. "Even if it is with a hot kiss."
Sofia rolled her eyes, feeling a sense of unease at Vidal's words. She knew that Vidal was just joking, but it was hard to laugh when she knew the truth about Liam's behavior.
He turned to leave the room, Sofia stood up to also go out. Vidal stopped in his tracks, he turned back to Sofia.
"Where are you going this early?" he asked, checking his phone. "This is almost 7:00 am."
"I want to see Liam," Sofia replied, her eyes locked on Vidal's.
Vidal's expression changed, a hint of surprise on his face. "He's already gone to the company," he said.
Sofia's eyes widened in surprise. "This early?" she asked, her voice laced with concern.
Vidal nodded. "Yeah, he left early today." Sofia's eyes dropped, and she muttered under her breath. "I just wanted to check on the wound I caused him yesterday," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Vidal's smile was tinged with pity as he looked at Sofia. "Get some rest," he said, his voice soft and gentle.
Sofia nodded, feeling a lump form in her throat. She watched as Vidal turned and walked out of the room, the door closing softly behind him.
Sofia let out a sigh and collapsed onto the bed, feeling a mix of emotions swirling inside her. She was relieved that Vidal hadn't pushed her for more information, but she was also worried about what Liam might do when if she cross him again.
During Afternoon.
The butler walked into Sofia's room, desperation etched on his face, and tears welling up in his eyes. Sofia's eyes narrowed in confusion.
"What's going on?" she asked, her heart beating fast in alarm.
The butler's voice trembled as he spoke. "Please, madam, save Young Master Liam. He hasn't gotten his wound treated, and yesterday he didn't let any of us touch it. Right now, at the company, the Young Master is terribly sick and hasn't been himself. He's refusing to take any medication."
Sofia's eyes widened in alarm as she listened to the butler's words. She felt a surge of guilt and worry, knowing that Liam's condition was her fault.
"What's happening to him?" Sofia asked, her voice shaking with concern.
The butler's face was etched with worry. "The young master is running a high fever, and he's become delirious. He's refusing to take any medication, and he's pushing everyone away."
Sofia's heart sank, knowing that Liam's condition was deteriorating rapidly. She felt a pang of regret, knowing that she should have taken care of his wound yesterday.
"We need to get him to the hospital," Sofia said, her voice firm and decisive.
She rushed up from the bed, her heart racing with worry. She quickly threw on some clothes and rushed out of the room, the butler following closely behind her.
"Get the car ready," Sofia instructed the butler as they hurried down the stairs. "We need to get to the company as fast as possible."
The butler nodded and quickly pulled out his phone to make the arrangements. Sofia paced back and forth in the foyer, her mind racing with thoughts of Liam's condition.
As soon as the car pulled up, Sofia rushed out of the house and jumped into the backseat. The butler followed her in, and the driver sped off towards the company.
Sofia's anxiety grew with every passing minute. She couldn't shake the feeling that something was seriously wrong with Liam. She hoped they wouldn't be too late.
As the car sped through the streets, Sofia's mind was filled with worst-case scenarios. She couldn't bear the thought of anything happening to Liam, despite their complicated relationship.
The car finally pulled up to the company building, and Sofia jumped out, rushing towards the entrance. The butler followed close behind her.
As they entered the building, Sofia could see the concern etched on the faces of the employees. They nodded to her as she rushed past, her eyes scanning the area for any sign of Liam.
"Where is he?" Sofia demanded, rushing up to the CEO's office.
The executive assistant nodded towards the door. "He's inside, madam. But please, be careful. He's...not himself."
Sofia's heart sank as she rushed towards the door, the butler following close behind. She pushed open the door and stepped inside, her eyes scanning the room for Liam.
