Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: Storm is coming, the clouds of war are looming

Li Boshui said, "Wei Chen believes that the palace incident was a necessary move. The letter states that Li Mufan secretly trained dead soldiers among the people and hid a large number of mortal weapons. This shows that he must have been concealing his capabilities and biding his time. If we wait until he has fully developed his power, it will be difficult to control him in the future."

Qin Yongjun chuckled and replied, "You've thought this through. Things have come to this point for a reason."

Changing the subject, he added, "Have you accomplished what I asked you to do a few days ago?"

"Back to Your Majesty, according to the spies' report, the Yasha tribe has had a fierce conflict with the Elf tribe in the eastern sea area of Yunzhou. Both sides are mobilizing troops. From my perspective, war is imminent."

"Well done!"

Qin Yongjun slapped the table and said, "Did you reveal any flaws?"

"The scene has been cleaned up. The elves and the Yasha tribe have always been at odds, so they will not be suspicious of us. It was merely an accident while escorting the elven princess back. The princess and our dead soldier were swept away by a waterspout on the Yuncang River. If they fell into the river, they would have a narrow escape at best."

"Oh? What do you think about the life or death of this princess?"

Li Boshui replied, "It is extremely difficult to survive a waterspout, and there are monsters lurking in the Yuncang River. If you fall into the river, your chances of survival are slim."

Qin Yongjun pondered for a moment and said, "Originally, I had this girl in my hands, and she may have been useful in the future. Since there has been an accident, so be it. Continue to send people to monitor the movements of the elves. Once a war breaks out, report it immediately!"

"As you command!"

After Li Boshui left, Qin Yongjun walked out of the imperial study and looked up at the blue sky.

"This Yunzhou has remained unchanged for thousands of years. It's time to make some changes..."

In the vast grasslands of the northern part of the Yunqin Empire, thousands of Huang-level tribes live. Among them, the most powerful is the Tauren tribe of the Barbarian Niu tribe.

As a semi-nomadic race, the Barbarian Niu tribe has never been settled. They usually survive by grazing or hunting monsters on the grasslands. In times of famine, they rob the surrounding tribes or even invade the territories of the humans to the south.

However, over the years, the Yunqin Empire has developed steadily, becoming stronger and establishing increasingly stable defenses. The Barbarian Niu tribe has not made large-scale movements southward for a long time.

In one of the Barbarian Niu tribes, a sacrificial ceremony was taking place before hunting a monster. Strong Taurens danced strange dances around the corpse of a huge beast.

The ceremony lasted for about half an hour. As soon as it ended, a Tauren approached the Great Elder, who was wearing a peculiar mask, and whispered something in his ear.

Upon hearing the last part, the Great Elder roared loudly!

"The human race has bullied us too much! Do they think all our warriors are dead!?"

A Tauren of high status in the tribe asked, "Great Elder, what has happened to make you so angry?"

"The despicable humans intercepted and killed our caravan. Niu Qiangliu and the twenty-five warriors we sent out were all killed! The ten crystal cores we worked so hard to obtain were all robbed!"

"What!"

All the Taurens present jumped up, waving their weapons and howling to march south and kill all the despicable humans.

However, the Great Elder knew that, given the strength of the human race, their tribe would lose everything by advancing south. He shouted, "Immediately notify the tribes on the grassland and let them come to our tribe to meet and discuss a plan to go south!"

"Go south! Go south! Go south!"

A deafening roar resounded over the grassland.
