Chapter 16 - Chapter 16

Lois looked up!

The sunny and handsome boy was Chu Mo!

"My God, you're finally here!"

She hurried over to him!

There was no time for chitchat; she got right to the point.

"The boss found out that I hired you, and now he's furious!"

"I have to fire you!"

Lois was very worried.

Chu Mo looked at her indifferently.

"Why should I care if he's angry? Do I have to go and calm him down?"

"My goodness! You may not care, but I do! This affects my job!" Lois exclaimed, helpless to deal with him.

After all, she was the one who begged Chu Mo to come!

At that moment, a middle-aged man with a large belly appeared, smoking a cigar, his face lined with wrinkles.

Suddenly, the entire floor fell silent!

"The new guy hasn't shown up yet? I'll give him ten more minutes. If he doesn't show up, Lois, you're fired too!"

The middle-aged man glared at her.

"Damn, so tough!" Chu Mo raised an eyebrow.

Lois quickly tugged on his sleeve.

"Shh, that's Perry White, Editor-in-Chief & Owner of the Daily Planet!"

"I don't care who he is. He's just a loser to me!"

Instead of lowering his voice, Chu Mo spoke even louder.

The staff glanced at Chu Mo, amusement flickering in their eyes as they prepared for the spectacle.

"It's over," Lois thought, her heart sinking.

The Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Planet turned his attention to the man standing next to Lois.

"Security! Remove this clown! How dare you let a lowlife like this in here!"

Three security guards immediately approached them.

A cold gleam flickered in Chu Mo's eyes!

The guards suddenly felt as if they were surrounded by a pack of wild lions!

Their bodies trembled uncontrollably, unable to make any sudden movements.

Their instincts were screaming at them: if they dared to move, the man in front of them would tear them apart in an instant!

"Security! Security!" Perry White shouted angrily.

He is the editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet!

Now even the security guards were disobeying his orders!

"This is rebellion!"

I will fire you all, damn it!" Perry kept yelling.

Chu Mo walked up to him.

"Hey, fat pig, who are you yelling at?"

The entire floor gasped.

"Fat pig! Oh my God! He just called him a fat pig in front of the boss!"

"That young man either doesn't know who he's dealing with or he doesn't care."

"Perry White has connections in politics, business and the Gotham underworld!"

"I don't think he knows what he's getting into..."

The employees looked at Chu Mo like he was a dead man.

"You're finished!" Perry's face shook with rage, his cigar trembled.

He was furious.

"Fat pig, let me ask you again, who are you yelling at?" Chu Mo took another step forward, his gaze piercing Perry.

Instantly, Perry's heartbeat quickened. This man has a terrifying aura.

He had encountered metahumans before, and although they had a certain aura, none had been as intimidating as this one.

This man was like a harbinger of death!

A voice in Perry's head kept warning him: if he dared to resist, he might be killed on the spot!

"I-I-I didn't yell at you!" Perry stammered, lowering his eyes.

"What?"

"Oh my God, what did I just witness?"

"Perry actually backed down!"

"Who is this man? Does he have powerful connections?"

"Perry White is one of the biggest players in Gotham, yet he backs down?"

"Who is this guy?"

The employees exchanged shocked looks, completely baffled.

Some even looked at Lois with newfound admiration.

"I envy Lois now. Who would have thought?"

Moments ago they had been ready to mock her, but now their eyes were filled with jealousy.

Lois hadn't expected this either.

She was well aware of Chu Mo's superhuman abilities and had feared that he might just kill Perry in a fit of rage.

But to her surprise, Perry had backed down, leaving everyone stunned.

Chu Mo tapped Perry on the shoulder.

"Boss, how am I supposed to work with you acting like this?"

"What? He's my employee?" Perry asked slowly, his face turning red with embarrassment.

He couldn't believe that he had been scared by his own employee!

He was just about to regain his composure when he caught a glimpse of Chu Mo's eyes.

He immediately decided against it.

"If I can't deal with him openly, I'll deal with him secretly," Perry thought, his mind racing.

"Chief, this is our new reporter!" Lois interjected, her tone now filled with a little pride.

Perry looked at her and then at Chu Mo.

As an old hand in Gotham's political and business circles, he quickly understood the relationship between the two.

"I've been wanting to make a move on Lois for a while now, but it seems this guy got her first."

A wave of jealousy for Chu Mo washed over him.

"You two, come to my office!" Perry ordered.

Chu Mo, still unfazed, followed with an air of indifference.

"I'll play along for now. But if things go wrong, I'll handle it my own way," Chu Mo thought.

He is not a rule-following person. He did what he wanted, when he wanted. { T/N - He is Fu***ng Psychopath. }

The two entered Perry's office.

Perry was tapping his fingers on the desk, deep in thought.

Chu Mo, on the other hand, didn't care. He casually sat down across from him and put his feet on the desk.

Lois flinched slightly at his audacity.

Perry was visibly annoyed, but he swallowed his irritation.

After a moment of silence, he spoke.

"Lois, since he's a new reporter, make sure he gets the interview right!"

"Enough with the small talk. Get to the point," Chu Mo cut in, his voice dripping with disinterest.

Perry was taken aback, rendered speechless.

'In that case, you're both going to die!'

A sinister gleam flickered in Perry's eyes.

"There's an urgent interview assignment. You must go now!"

"What assignment?" Lois asked instinctively.

"Arkham Asylum. Interview with the Joker!"

Perry bared his teeth in an evil grin.

"What?" Lois exclaimed, her voice filled with disbelief.

Everyone in Gotham knew about Arkham Asylum. Even superheroes hesitated to enter, as it housed some of the most dangerous criminals.

And the Joker? He was the crown jewel of Gotham's criminal underworld!

"I...!" Louise wanted to refuse, but was interrupted by Chu Mo.

"There's no rush for interviews. There are more important matters at hand."

Perry sneered inwardly.

"Let's see him wriggle out of this one."

Louise was confused, wondering what Chu Mo had in mind.

Chu Mo leaned back and looked completely unfazed.

"I want to buy the Daily Planet. Are you interested?"

"What?" Perry gasped.
