Shirtless, Willow lay relaxed on the bed. He waited. He listened to the deep silence of the inn, which had finally retired after the last clink of dishes and the footsteps of customers going to their rooms.
Then, after a few minutes of complete silence, Willow heard two soft knocks on his bedroom door.
He got up with a smile on his face and went to the door. He turned the knob and opened it, letting the light from the lamp in his room illuminate Lidia, the innkeeper.
A pale blue robe of fine fabric draped around Lidia. The fabric barely disguised the shape of her voluminous body, with the classic beauty that only time could give. Her chestnut hair was, unlike before, loose and her face, with its soft features, displayed the mature beauty of a woman who, although experienced, maintained a very youthful appearance.
Willow took a step to the side and, with a wave of his hand, motioned for her to enter.
"Come in, please."
