Chapter 4 - Walking against the light

The robot did not answer Ronggui's greeting.

Turning around, he was busy around the old computers behind him. Ronggui did not understand his behavior, but he did not want to understand. He was not tall enough, so he looked around and dragged a computer case of the most suitable height as a stepping stone. Finally, he stood in front of the "coffin" containing his and the other's bodies.

But even so, it was still a bit difficult to look down at his own body, so he had to stand on tiptoe and look eagerly.

The foot that had fallen out had long been stuffed back by the other party. The other party stuffed it in very rudely. Through the translucent coffin, Ronggui saw his feet lying in a very indecent and uncomfortable posture.

He could not criticize the other party for treating him carelessly, because the posture of the person in the "coffin" was obviously worse! Ronggui could almost associate the posture of the body with how the robot threw his body in with a cold face like clothes.

Ronggui originally wanted to push open the freezer to adjust his own posture, and also help the other party to adjust a beautiful posture. However, just when his mechanical hand just touched the top of the freezer and had not had time to exert force, the robot somehow discovered his movement, and the other party's tablet voice came from behind him.

"It's best not to move. The air outside is poisonous now. There is a layer of crystals on the surface of the body in the freezer that can prevent the body from being damaged by the toxic air for a period of time. After a certain period of time, the crystals will melt and there will be nothing to do."

"You should have said this earlier!" Ronggui quickly moved his hand away, fearing that he had accidentally moved the freezer because he had not controlled the weight well. He also dragged the chassis used as a pedal around the freezer to look around, and carefully confirmed that the freezer was completely closed, and then he breathed a sigh of relief.

Then he didn't know what to do.

When he had nothing to do, he turned around to see what the other robot was doing. He watched the other party knocking on those large machines that looked like computers, removing parts one by one from them, and piling up a lot of them, and then aimed at the position behind him that was originally the freezer.

"Come and help." The other party called him, and Ronggui followed immediately.

"I will throw something from above, and you catch it below." The robot said to it.

Ronggui nodded quickly.

Then he watched the other party start to climb.

Perhaps because the robot's body was not easy to use, the other party's climbing posture was not good-looking, and it was a bit funny if you looked closely. Ronggui wanted to laugh at first, but when he thought that he looked exactly like the other party now, he couldn't laugh.

The little robot raised his head.

Countless grids appeared in his sight like a net.

In each grid was a freezer, and perhaps in each freezer there was a person who had the same experience as Ronggui.

Now, only the grid that once contained Ronggui is a black hole, and only the freezer in that grid has been taken out. The rest of the freezers are still sealed in place. In this place without any signs of energy and no human managers, the fate of these freezers can be imagined.

Death.

At this moment, Ronggui suddenly shuddered.

It was a kind of awe. Awe of death and life.

Then he quickly shifted his sight to the small robot climbing above. He had already climbed into a freezer. Whenever he threw something from above, Ronggui would quickly run over to catch it.

The things he caught were still parts that Ronggui could not name.

Every time he caught something, Ronggui carefully placed them aside. Although he did not know what each part was used for, he classified them according to their appearance.

After a while, the robot above threw something down again. Ronggui caught it with agility and took a look: it was a mechanical foot that looked a little familiar.

Looking at the mechanical foot in his hand, he looked at the foot of his current body again.

"My foot fell off." Sure enough, the voice of the other party's tablet came from above.

Ronggui's entire robot was embarrassed.

Soon, the other party's voice came from above again.

"Catch me." With the other party's cold metallic sound, Ronggui watched the other party's machine body fall from the sky in a free fall. Without time to think, Ronggui's body reflexively ran towards the place where the other party fell.

Crackle——

Ronggui's body fell apart.

"It's all your fault! Why did you suddenly jump down from above!" Ronggui's body was completely broken apart, with only his head and half of his shoulders connected together. The rest of his body had already been scattered into parts that he didn't recognize, and they were still broken and a little rusty.

Seeing the rust marks, he became even more angry.

"It must be you, you used unqualified materials for me!" He said angrily.

"Question one, I didn't suddenly jump down from above, I notified you." The culprit robot had already stood up. Because he lost a foot, he began to shake a little, but he quickly learned how to stand on one foot.

"Question 2, I didn't jump down, I fell down. As early as when my feet fell off, you should have considered this possibility later." Patting the dirt all over his body, he began to install his feet. After installing his own feet, he reassembled Ronggui's body.

The little robot has strong hands-on ability. Soon, Ronggui's body was reshaped.

I definitely didn't say that I was a little envious of the other party. Ronggui kept saying in his mouth: "You just installed my feet on yourself."

"Really? Do you want me to take it off and replace it for you?" The other party was talking to Ronggui while moving quickly.

"No, your feet are better looking. Look, the material you chose for yourself is more advanced..." Ronggui said in a low voice.

The robot holding Ronggui's claws: ...

Ronggui stood up again quickly. Just when Ronggui was getting used to the body he had just assembled, the other party had already run to collect the parts he had obtained before. He found a piece of tattered dirty cloth from somewhere. He mixed the parts he had obtained before with the parts Ronggui had sorted, put them all into the tattered cloth, tied a package randomly, and threw the package onto the freezer where the two bodies were placed.

"Oh! Such a dirty cloth, such a heavy thing, how can you put it on my face!" Ronggui jumped up in pain - the place below the package hit was exactly where his face was in the "coffin".

"And this package is too fragile to be tied like this. Your way of tying it is too unrefined." After taking the package down, Ronggui rearranged the parts inside, and then put them back into the package. He arranged it very well. The package that was almost unable to fit in the package was actually much longer after he did this. In the end, he used the two extra corners as ties to tie the package to the freezer, and tied a pretty bow when sealing it.

The robot did not object to Ronggui's self-determination to arrange the package. He spoke again after Ronggui finished.

"Finished? Let's go."

"Go? Where to?"

"I don't know, but we have to leave this place."

The two people had a meaningless conversation. As they talked, the two robots lifted the freezer containing their bodies. The package that was originally placed at the end of the freezer fell down, but fortunately Ronggui tied it very firmly, and the package was finally hung in the center of the freezer. The freezer was like a shoulder pole, stable.

Carefully carrying his coffin... no, the freezer, Ronggui moved forward under the guidance of the robot.

"What does it look like outside?" Ronggui only thought of this question at this time.

"I don't know."

"Will there be many people?"

"I don't know."

"Then... what's your name?" Ronggui also thought of asking this question at this time.

"Ashxivi Messertal, I allow you to call me Ash."

"Ash (pronounced the same as ten)?"

"Ash."

"Ash?"

"... Your language skills are really poor."

"You saw it, hehe, I never passed my English exam, but my English teacher often said that my pronunciation is very similar to Russian. Maybe I'm a genius in learning Russian! Otherwise... I'll call you Xiaomei?"

"... Thank you, you should call me Ash."

Just like that, the two robots chatted "intimately" while carrying the freezer towards the unknown distance. They carried their own bodies like two coffin bearers, heading towards an unknown fate.
