Arriving at Silson city which took five days, Marc headed to the adventurer association to get his reward. He was rewarded with 2 silver coins and 29 bronze coins.
For a quick explanation of the currency of this world, 100 bronze coins= 1 silver coin, 100 silver coins= 1 gold coin, and 1000 gold coins = 1 platinum coin.
Here is compensation for your troubles with the cult, said the receptionist. Marc was given an extra 5 silver coins, he was happy about the pay since he was making his own money. Marc went to meet the blacksmith he first visited. The blacksmith was genuinely surprised that Marc was still alive; although he didn't wish for Marc's death, it still came as a shock to him.
Oh so you are still alive, said the blacksmith. Marc was confused about how to answer the question since it felt like the blacksmith wished for his death. He shrugged and, without giving an answer, asked the blacksmith to show him his best armor with a budget of 5 silver.
The blacksmith told Marc to call him Hans, not Old Man since Marc referred to him as 'old man.' Marc, still calling him old man, told him to just hurry up.
Marc was shown three armors: one made with wyvern scales, another with troll skin, and the last one made with elder salamander scales. They were all ranked C- equipment, which was extremely helpful for him since he was an F+ adventurer. He was now thankful for the cultists showing up. Marc started to wonder why he hadn't heard Diablo yapping like he used to do ever since he entered Silson City.
He was thankful but also curious to know why. He bought the one with the wyvern scales because it had a size adjustment feature in it, and it was also made from a fire wyvern scale, which adds resistance to fire.
Thanking Hans for his help before heading to the orphanage. At the orphanage, Sister Lilian was happy to see Marc since he had been gone for two months.
He told Lilian and the other orphans about his adventures, from bandit slaying, which he wasn't proud of, to monster hunting and fighting the cultists. Sister Lilian was more worried than usual. She had heard about the cultist's attack, but she didn't know Marc was involved in the incident.
Frantically searching Marc for injuries, which made him embarrassed. It took thirty minutes to convince her nothing happened. Marc, now in his room after having fun, was enjoying his quiet time. He liked hanging around the others but he still loved his personal space.
In his room alone without Diablo's nagging felt like heaven. He was going to enjoy every single second of his alone time. He checked his status and a blue screen came to his line of sight.

Marc was confused about the demonic nature skill and asked for the skill information since this was his first time hearing it.
[Demonic nature (lv1): releases the inner demon within oneself. This skill is the manifestation of one's dark emotions; the user gains strength while falling into killing ecstasy. Warning user might gain the hidden stat demonic energy when using this skill]
Marc felt that this explains a lot and nothing at all at the same time, but he was more determined to use the skill, less of the time since demonic energy drives people insane. The only reason why the cultists are not insane is they are not the true source of the demonic energy.
Demonic cultists grow insects that live in the heart of their host. It shares a symbiotic relationship where it gives demonic energy while absorbing the mana of the host. This might seem like a good deal, but the leader of the demonic cult has a way to control the bugs, which helps him kill members who betray the cult.
Now, all there is left to do is train and become stronger if he doesn't get to ten spots for the student ranking. He knew that at the start of the academy, all the top ten were ranked e-, so he had to do better, he could match an e+ if he used demonic nature, but he didn't want to go mad or be in that sea-like world again.
Aaaaaaaaaahh!
Marc was awoken with shock, a plushie-like red goat staring at him. Father John was the closest to his room at that time and rushed over to Marc, then followed by sister Lilian.
He reassured them it was just a nightmare. Father John wanted to discuss it, but Marc gave him a thumbs up that everything was fine, leaving reluctantly.
Now he focused on the floating goat. Diablo? He asked questions. Diablo just answered with a simple Yeah, it's me, dimwit; I was just saving power to manifest a form. Without questioning Marc let go of the case and tried to dig deep to know exactly why Diablo wanted revenge.
Since Marc didn't believe his face being peeled was all there was to it.
