I stared at Lucian, Adrian, and the red-haired woman like they were the unholy trinity. My mind raced, every nerve in my body thrumming with panic and fury. The silver in Mai's eyes was so unnatural; an otherworldly glow that made my stomach churn.
"Explain!" I snapped, my voice trembling. "Why are her eyes like this? What did you do to her?!"
Lucian cleared his throat, looking more nervous than I'd ever seen him. His usually confident demeanor was nowhere to be found. "Teresa," he began softly, his voice tinged with guilt. "We can't talk about this here. Come with me to my office—it's private. What I need to tell you shouldn't be overheard."
"Private?" I shot back, my anger bubbling over. "What makes you think I trust you enough to go anywhere with you?"
