At the outset, I want to acknowledge that what I'm about to say is not an excuse to justify disappointing readers, but I sincerely apologize. I have truly enjoyed writing this novel, and I genuinely wanted to keep writing it every day. I've read hundreds of fan-fiction novels, and while I've liked many of them, I often felt they lacked a genuine fan's perspective. They tended to overlook details that, to me, are essential and meaningful.
So, I decided to create this novel—not just for others to read but, more importantly, for myself. I wrote it because I wanted it to be something personal to me, as well as to you. Yet, I faced an unexpected and significant hurdle that I struggled to overcome.
In short, I'm a new writer; I started writing only about three months ago after several unsuccessful attempts. This novel managed to attract some reader interest, giving me a spark of hope and ambition. I thought that maybe I could achieve my dream and become a professional writer. But today, I received news from the support system that fan-fiction novels cannot secure support contracts or financial backing. It felt like a setback that brought me right back to the starting line, but in an even worse position.
I felt a strong sense of frustration, especially knowing that the site's Chinese version allows fan-fiction authors to obtain contracts. So, why can't we have the same opportunity? However, I realized that anger wouldn't help, so I decided to pause the novel temporarily until I can resolve my financial issues. I plan to return to writing as soon as possible, and I won't give up on this novel, which has now become part of my dreams.
