Ethan and I had spent the entire day moving in. Between hauling boxes, organizing the kitchen, and making sure we had enough snacks for the week, it felt like we were finally getting a bit of our own space.
We were going to start university next week, but we decided moving in early would help us settle in and get used to living without the constant shadow of my family hanging over us.
And by we, I meant me, while Ethan did most of the heavy lifting.
"So," Ethan said, a grin tugging at his lips, "we've got the place to ourselves. Just the two of us. For the first time."
I couldn't help but smile back, feeling a little giddy. "Finally. We can relax. No interruptions."
He leaned in, his hand brushing against mine. "I was thinking we could take a break. Maybe... see where the night takes us?"
