"This is bad." The vampire was nervously tapping the ground with his foot, watching at Lady Seline's headless body.
Next to the nervous vampire were two more. A guy that didn't seem to care too much and a muscular figure that was holding a ginger, female vampire tightly in his grip, not giving her a chance to escape.
"Where were you all this time, Ryder!" Those were the first words Melisa had heard before slowly opening her eyes, finding herself in an abandoned factory, unable to move or scream.
There was some kind of cloth inside her mouth and a tape that was going all around her head on the lip level, making sure that she wouldn't be able to scream, leaving her defenseless.
"Ryder was chasing after the female and the other vampire that was with her, he killed Daniel. Unfortunately, the sun came out and Ryder had to hide." Ryder answered with a small tear appearing in his eye.
"The sun?" The third vampire laughed hysterically, removing his black mask.
"THE SUN?!" He repeated himself, throwing the mask onto the ground, "Lady Seline is dead, the kids are gone. Because of you, Nosferatu is going to put our heads on the stick!"
"Hey! Ryder did no wrong! You both left her alone!" He raised his voice, throwing Melisa into one of the machinery.
She closed her eyes once she hit the metal surface, the pain was strong but dull. Due to her exhaustion, her body started to heal later than it should have.
The two vampires had a staring contest with each other, revealing their claws, looking like they were about to start a fight at any moment now.
"Guys, calm down." The most rational vampire got between the two. He was the most nervous, but logical among the three.
"Daniel is gone and Nosferatu will chase us till the depths of the world. Let's just sell the vampire and run away." He suggested, not even bothering to try and find out who was the person that assassinated their leader.
Lady Seline was their only ticket to enter inside Serine clan and she was gone. When Nosferatu finds out, not even god would be able to save them.
"Fine..." The two rivaling vampires answered in union, crossing their arms and looking away.
They were strays, not belonging to any clan and no matter what happens, they need to stick together to survive.
"Good, now let's knock her out, the suppliers should come with the goods soon. We'll pick them up instead of Seline. Burn the body!" He ordered before walking towards Melisa who was trying to free herself.
He grabbed her by the hair and lifted her up, dragging his finger across her face, "Oh... I wish I could keep you, but you already need to go." He said quietly before putting his palm in front of Melisa.
The vampire in question created a small air bubble around her head, slowly lowering the amount of oxygen inside it, and not allowing her to breathe.
Tears were present in Melisa's eyes as she struggled to stay awake, but she was defenseless, with no way to escape.
'Someone... Kai... Nosferatu... Luciel... Please help me...' She begged in her final moments before everything went black again.

Once the kids finally fell asleep, Luciel continued with his meditation session, but it wasn't going as expected.
After what he found out about Nosferatu and that he was the real culprit behind this farm, Luciel couldn't calm down and his eyes were glowing vibrant red without a stop, enhanced by his anger.
"Nosferatu, you bastard!" He raised his voice a little, trying his best not to be too loud so he wouldn't wake up the kids.
Luciel clenched his fist but had to open it once he felt his claws digging into his flesh. He couldn't even control his body properly.
He wanted to get back to him, but right now, that was impossible. When it came to his strength as a vampire, he was at the bottom of the food chain.
While battling against Nosferatu during the training sessions, Luciel could feel a fraction of his power that rivaled Alukah.
If Luciel were in his prime, he could probably take him on, but not like this. He needed power.
Feeling a small prickle across his exposed skin, Luciel opened his eyes. The sun was starting to come out, signaling that it was time to go.
"And that stupid sun..." He mumbled under his breath before jumping down from the roof that he practically claimed as his own.
Walking inside the house, he went to check on the kid who was still passed out, but the bite marks seemed to be healing.
'We need to hurry and find the shelter where the rest of the colony is hiding.' He thought to himself. The time was running out and he had no way to help the poor, young girl.
Vampires only had healing enzymes in their salvia that were used to sterilize the blood while they were feeding, but it also had a positive effect on humans, making sure to quickly stop the bleeding, prevent infections, and speed up the tissue regeneration process.
The salvia vampires produced was considered like dry gold. With enough of their salvia, humans could extract enough enzymes to create miracle cures, enchanting the healing properties.
The only problem was finding and containing so many vampires that were needed, making the medicine only for those with the most money.
Letting out a sigh, Luciel walked towards Marta, stumbling on the way as he felt dizzy.
She was sleeping on the carpet with only a pillow under her head and a blanket that was covering her body.
"Hey, Marta..." He placed his hand on her shoulder, gently shaking her to wake her up.
"Uhm... What...?" She slowly opened her eyes, blinking a few times to clear her blurry vision.
"It's morning, time to take over the guard."
"Already?" She yawned, wanting to sleep a little bit more.
Luciel felt bad when he saw her like this. He could have allowed her to sleep some more, but he could barely keep his eyes open and started to see double.
He was awake for forty-eight hours now and an average vampire body could easily go through this strain if it didn't go through extreme circumstances.
"I'm sorry, but I need my rest too. We are heading out to search for the rest of the humans once the night sets."
Marta was about to retaliate, but then she looked at the blood on Luciel's clothes.
There was a hole in his clothes and traces of dried blood, but no scar to be seen. Whatever had happened, it couldn't have been a pleasant experience.
"All right..." She slowly got up, rubbing her eyes.
"Also, make sure to wake me up only when trouble arrives." He added before walking away towards the wall, away from the others.
Luciel yawned and lay down on the cold floor, placing his hands below his head before immediately falling asleep.
