Chapter 92 - Chapter 92: You Just Like It, Right

"Director He, regarding the order for these... Eagles, we're planning to purchase twenty units at a price of seven thousand each. Is that acceptable?"

Back in the reception room, the Desert Tiger showed keen interest in He Kui's Eagle after hearing about his recent experiences.

In essence, this device was comparable to future aerial drones, though due to the neutron disruptor, its transmission range on Earth was shorter than previous military drones.

However, the battery technology here was more advanced than Earth's, providing much longer endurance.

"How long for delivery?"

He Kui asked cautiously instead of agreeing immediately.

The product was handmade, a small workshop creation. Even with Shi He's help, crafting twenty would take at least a month.

Not to mention, many would be given away as gifts.

"Within three months is fine. I don't foresee any major conflicts soon."

"That's good news. Thanks to you, Director He, we've just received reports that Blue Cosmos has withdrawn their last base here."

"They've retreated?"

"With those tanks likely being their main force, it seems they had no choice after suffering losses. You won't need to test further."

"Three months is manageable."

He Kui replied with a slight smile, returning to the primary topic.

"Great, we'll draft the contract tomorrow and provide a deposit of fifty thousand."

"Agreed."

"Since you're here, why not stay a couple of days?"

With a significant issue resolved, the Tiger returned to his amiable uncle mode.

"No, since the matter is settled, we'll return tomorrow."

He Kui declined the Tiger's invitation.

"That's wise. They seem to be targeting you more than me. It's safer for you to head back early."

Blue Cosmos had sacrificed a frontline outpost for He Kui. In their eyes, his value was likely the highest among those present.

"Thank you, then."

After bidding farewell to the Tiger, He Kui stepped outside and encountered a familiar face, his roommate and one of the Zaku pilots, Ed.

"He Kui, that was too close."

Ed approached nervously, inspecting him for injuries before breathing a sigh of relief.

"What's going on? They're specifically targeting you, right?"

Still part of the Green Team, Ed wasn't as informed about He Kui's weapon research progress.

"Yes, it's probably because of my weapon development."

"Seriously..."

Ed shook his head.

He Kui had joined the design bureau to avoid becoming cannon fodder.

But now, though no longer fodder, the threat of death remained.

"Don't worry, I'm not that easy to kill."

He Kui said, taking out his small gadgets—a Haro, Scream Eagle, and Owl—and transferring their ownership to Ed before he could refuse.

"You stay safe too."

He Kui said.

"Mm."

Solemnly accepting the gadgets, Ed smiled and continued,

"When are you heading back?"

"Tomorrow."

"That's good. I wanted to show you around, but safety comes first."

Ed understood, patting He Kui's shoulder.

"Who wouldn't agree?"

They exchanged smiles and chatted briefly before parting ways.

By the time He Kui returned to his room, it was late at night.

Being the former mayor's mansion, their guest room was lavish.

A classic European-style bed stood with four dark wooden posts, intricately carved with elegant patterns.

But it was Shi He's appearance that startled He Kui.

Shi He wore a bodysuit similar to Aisha's, but in red instead of blue, accentuating her slender curves.

Her brown hair rested lightly on her slender, fair shoulders, adding allure.

Her collarbones, almost translucent white, resembled crescent moons, gleaming seductively under the soft yellow lamp light.

The zipper at the front was slightly open, revealing enticing white skin and a deep valley.

"Why are you dressed like that?"

He Kui asked, forcing his gaze away from the alluring sight.

"You seemed to like it, so I borrowed a set from Miss Aisha."

Though her words sounded like a complaint, her playful tone was more like a tease.

"I didn't really..."

He had glanced at Aisha more out of curiosity about any reaction to his gift.

But there hadn't been an opportunity.

"You did!"

Shi He caught He Kui's approaching hands and placed them on the delicate zipper.

"You clearly like it!"

With He Kui not resisting, Shi He whispered in his ear.

Her breath, like a breeze, seemed to tempt him into action.

But he didn't need encouragement; he already wanted to do something.

The sheer bed curtains slowly descended from the bedposts.

The next morning.

Waking up with Shi He still asleep in his arms, He Kui was surprised at his own ability to rise early.

After all, they had been fighting battles all day and night.

Yet here he was, awake.

Gently placing Shi He back on the bed, the first thing He Kui noticed was the red bodysuit on the floor.

Instinctively, his throat moved.

"Well, there's no time to wash it; let's take it back?"

Shi He, now awake, chuckled softly.

"Uh, yes, indeed."

"But I wouldn't dare pilot an MS in this."

"No need for that."

He wasn't like the Tiger.

Yeah, he wasn't like the Tiger.

Repeating the thought twice, as if knowing they were awake, the internal comms chimed in.

"Hello?"

He Kui answered.

"Director He, apologies for disturbing you."

The voice of the Tiger's deputy, Dacosta, came through.

"It's fine. What's up?"

"Breakfast is ready, and the contract is also prepared. Captain Andrew would like to discuss it with you both in the dining room."

"I understand, please wait a moment."

"Alright."

"What is it?"

After hanging up, Shi He hugged He Kui from behind, curious.

Like a playful kitten.

"Breakfast is ready, and we need to discuss the cooperation."

"I see.

Knowing they wouldn't have much downtime, Shi He didn't linger, grabbing a fresh set of white clothes and heading to the wardrobe.

"Don't peek~"

"Mm."

He Kui smirked at Shi He's playful warning.

If he peeked, there wouldn't be enough time; others were waiting for breakfast.
