"Hey, He Kui!"
As soon as he disembarked from the Lorasian-class ship in the hangar, a white figure rushed into his embrace.
"What are you doing, you idiot? Do you have any idea how dangerous it was just now?"
No one knew better than her how terrifying that red machine was. With just one encounter, they had already lost a Kinn unit to the enemy's surprise attack.
If it hadn't been for their red-clad ally, they would have lost even more.
"I forgot."
Feeling Sule's trembling in his arms, He Kui recalled his own impulsive actions and felt his hands shake as well. This was the first time he had acted on impulse since arriving here, and it wasn't because of the system—it was because of Sule.
The thought of this girl potentially leaving his life made him act without thinking. He had always worried about her, knowing that the main storyline didn't include her. His mind raced with concerns that Sule might also fall victim to the war.
"You fool!"
"Dummy!"
As she scolded him, Sule hugged He Kui even tighter.
He Kui didn't respond but gently patted her back.
In that warm, silent comfort, Sule felt her resistance melt away. The worry, fear, and gratitude coalesced into a complex and overwhelming emotion. Tears she could no longer suppress flowed freely in He Kui's warm embrace.
No one knew how terrified she felt upon realizing it was He Kui piloting that Kinn. It was as if time around her had stopped with her halted breaths.
Their intimate moment was interrupted by the ship's communication system.
"Ahem… It seems someone is looking for you."
He Kui reluctantly released his hold.
"Ah, um."
Realizing her emotional outburst, Sule wiped her nose and noticed that He Kui's once tidy pilot suit was now crumpled and stained with her tears and snot.
He Kui couldn't help but chuckle; on one hand, her crying face was adorably messy, but on the other...

While it had been a bit dangerous, it was worth it.
"Don't laugh! And you smell terrible!"
"I just sweated a little~ It was quite thrilling back there!"
Once Sule finished her communication with the captain regarding their return, the red-clad team also landed in the hangar.
"Thank you for your rescue. May I ask who you are?"
The red-clad captain looked at He Kui in his white suit and saluted before continuing to inquire.
"Hailan Design Bureau, He Kui. Thank you for your hard work."
"Hailan Design Bureau?"
In the design bureau, only directors normally wore white, meaning that this person, like Sule, was likely a research talent. However, considering He Kui's prior accuracy with the reconnaissance Kinn, it was hard to imagine him as a researcher.
Currently, the beam weapon was still in semi-confidential status, so the red-clad team didn't know the specifics of He Kui's research.
"Your shooting accuracy is quite impressive, by the way. What about the other pilot?"
"Just me."
Before returning, He Kui had secretly stored the Haro away, and he had already restored the connection points, so aside from some charred cables, everything looked normal.
Even the most skilled maintenance crew wouldn't suspect anything amiss.
"Just you?"
"Because I've previously researched the reconnaissance Kinn, so I'm quite familiar with its parameters."
He Kui said this without caring whether the captain believed him, already following Sule into her officer quarters.
The room was filled with various experimental instruments, devoid of any personal touch.
"Why didn't you send a distress signal?"
He Kui asked as he entered.
"The ship's communications were damaged right as the battle started."
"I see."
"And you? Did you really pilot it alone?"
"Used some minor assistive means."
"Computer-assisted?"
"Sort of, but it's not very mature yet. It broke down after firing three shots."
He Kui retrieved the Haro fragments from his small backpack.
Its stability was nearly nonexistent, barely qualifying as version 0.01.
Fortunately, it had held up for three shots; otherwise, they would have been in serious trouble.
"With skills like yours, you still dared to charge in?"
Sule shot He Kui a glare.
"That's pretty brave, right?"
Although the normal ratio of Mobius to Kinn was five to one, He Kui had managed to take down three of them from a distance without sustaining any damage. It took less than twenty seconds, so it could be argued that he had indeed performed like a red-clad pilot, despite having cheated to achieve that result.
"How do you plan to explain this when we return?"
Sule asked, likely suspecting He Kui wanted to keep the Haro a secret.
"I suddenly had an epiphany?"
He chuckled, though it was a stretch.
"Maybe, but the reason the enemy conducted a covert operation might be to test their new model."
"Is it that strange Mobius?"
"Exactly. It appears to be a wire-controlled unit, and if that's the case, it poses a new threat to us."
Sule excitedly began sketching out the design of the Mobius Zero in her notebook.
She perfectly illustrated the four cannon barrels.
"The barrel structure doesn't seem too complicated, and they're firing live rounds. To ensure accuracy, each barrel likely has radar attachments, which explains their size."
"However, the wire-controlled transmission method may heavily test spatial awareness. The fact that the enemy didn't get tangled up is nothing short of a miracle."
Sule spoke seriously, her eyes shining with enthusiasm.
"But this weapon control method is intriguing. Coupled with your miniaturized beam weapon, it could yield unexpected results.
I need to write a report!"
"Sure."
Left to her own devices, He Kui smirked quietly. As long as she was happy, that was what mattered.
