The sun blazed mercilessly overhead, casting heat across the barren landscape. It was a world transformed as the once vibrant green plants and trees had now turned dull brown, and the air shimmered with the heat of the ongoing apocalypse, turning the Blue star planet into a scorched wasteland.
Li Wei was parched and exhausted, His body barely able to withstand the tormenting heat. He had been on the brink of survival, scavenging for resources to stay alive in a world determined to snuff out every last ember of hope. Water was a treasure that many people dreamed of drinking to the fullest, but that was just a dream to begin with.
Li Wei had heard whispers of the nearby location - rumours that stuck in his mind. The promise of cool and refreshing water and some food were being distributed from government or some organization. A beacon of hope that kept him moving forward.
His best friend, Chen, had always been by his side from the start of the apocalypse. He had met him in the early days, scavenging in the ruin of a building for water and food, and from then on, they always stayed together. Li Wei had complete trust in Chen.
As they walked they passed through desolate streets littered with skeletons and many ruined buildings, the remnant of humanity's downfall. Every place had already been scavenged or was home to some survivors. They continued the walk until they came to the location where some moments could be detected a while ago but they saw no one there.
Li Wei looked at his hand watch that showed the current temperature and it was showing [67°C]. Looking at the temperature he turned to Chen and said with a broken heart and exhausted "Brother Chen, I think they left a while ago" After saying that he looked at Chen who also had heartbroken after analyzing the situation.
Desperate, Li Wei started to look around for some supplies to help him survive some more days and searching with his malnutrition body in that heat he was sweating bullets.
He was sweating so much that even if he found something good to eat or drink he was going to lose energy and he knew that he needed something urgent to eat.
After searching for a while his eyes spotted a bottle of water in the trash bin and his heart was racing as he picked up the bottle of water with the hope of drinking but as he opened the cap of the bottle he felt a sharp pain in his back.
He looked back to see that Chen had attacked him in the back and he could still feel the stinging pain of the knife plunging into his back, he looked at Chen with disbelief and Chen began to laugh maniacally as he picked up the bottle that Le had dropped after stabbing he said: "THIS BOTTLE OF WATER IS MINE !!!!!!"
After saying that he looked at Wei who had fallen on the ground and was looking at him with anger. Chen was annoyed after looking at his face as he raised his knife to strike Le again.
Le Wei was stabbed a couple of times and he was feeling all the pain when Chen stabbed him multiple times.
Le Wei decided that if he ever got a chance to kill this guy after his death even if he had to sell his soul to the devil himself he would do that and let Chen suffer a horrific death and he would torture him. But reality was fading away as he thought that.
But the next moment Le Wei woke, gasping for breath, the world around him was strangely quiet. Blinking against the ceiling, he found himself in his old apartment room where he was living alone.
Confusion washed over him as he looked around his room, he was drenched in sweat as he remembered, that he was killed for a mere bottle of water by his best friend Chen.
What was not making any sense was how he woke here, was that all a dream where the apocalypse happened and his death?
As he was thinking his phone rang he got out of this thought and looked at his phone now that was ringing and the caller was his girlfriend 'Miya'. Looking at the name he was furious as he remembered how she also betrayed him for some food and was nearly killed by some of her followers.
Instead of picking up that call he first looked at the time and date on his phone and after looking at the time and date he was now sure that he travelled in time or was reborn again on 1st November of the year 2024.
On 1st January of the year 2025, the Solar System was hit with the energy of a supernova and the temperature of the sun and all the planet rose like crazy.
Blue Star Planet's temperature was raised to 90°C as all the water, plants, trees and nearly all the living beings were extinct. 90% of Mankind was also extinct as no one could go outside because of the heatwaves and many people died by not having enough water to drink and hydrate themself.
Water was gone but many organizations and governments had created methods that could store water even in the high temperature many bases had heat resistance barriers and high-tech coolers to maintain heat.
As for the food, after the energy wave hit the blue planet the soil corroded and could not produce food and had become somewhat poisonous to humans even with that happened humanity didn't give up and came to know that there is soil that can be used to plant but they needed to dig 100km in the ground and after that, they can acquire some of the soil.
Li Wei stood up, opened his fridge took a cold bottle of water and drank all of it. After drinking that he opened the window and looked outside the window the see that the sky was perfectly normal clouds could be seen as he had never seen clouds after the apocalypse had started but now looking at the clouds he was on the verge of crying as he remembered how terrifying the heat was.
"I got reborn"
Li Wei took a deep breath to calm himself and to understand his current standard.
He was now determined that he wanted to survive the apocalypse using this opportunity.
He made up his mind that in this life he would never show any kindness to anyone not even if his relative came in front of him and always be cautious of what was happening surrounding him.
He sat down on his bed and began to think about how he would survive and how to take revenge on those who wronged him in the first place for petty reasons.
He had money that his parents had left him after their death.
His parents owned a real estate business and he was to sole successor of their business. because of that he had millions of money to spend and lived the life of second generation-rich kid before the apocalypse and now he could use that money to build a safe house for himself in the apocalypse and stay alive.
he began to think about where he could build a safe house that could withstand the heat of about 100°C and could store water.
As he was thinking a ball of light emerged from his chest as it expanded and entered his brain. He lost his consciousness and fell on the bed.
After an hour or so he woke and began to laugh like he had won a jackpot. As he laughed he said 'System'.
The moment he said that System panel generated in front of him as the system text said:
[Awakening the Farm System]
[Please wait a moment....]
Looking at the system panel Li Wei was laughing because he had hit a jackpot.
When he lost consciousness he found out that he had got a system as he was reborn into the past.
he knew that his system was related to the farm and with that he could survive and even build his organization out of nothing but his system.
However, Li Wei didn't have any knowledge of the farm and he now was nervous as he thought that even if he got a system he couldn't use it to its full potential.
He looked at the system panel after a minute but it still showed to wait for some time.
He ignored it and went to take a cold shower as he longed to take a shower in cold water but couldn't.
After taking a shower he ordered some food to eat.
An hour passed but the system panel still showed to wait as the delivery guy came Li Wei began to eat his dinner.
After taking a bite he shed tears as he never got to eat something like this in the apocalypse and as he was eating system panel popped out.
