Chapter 12 - The surprise gift

Lana stared at Vivian, her mind racing.

'If I tell Vivian about the deal I made with Nicholas, she might help me,' she thought, her gaze fixated on the woman before her.

Nicholas clenched his fists, his heart pounding as he watched Lana intently.

'Don't you dare say a word, Lana,' he thought, his face hardened with anger.

Lana averted her gaze, turning her attention to Vivian.

As she opened her mouth to speak, a loud ringing sound echoed through the room.

Vivian's phone had rung.

Vivian answered the call, her expression turning serious as she listened to the voice on the other end.

"What? I'm on my way," she said, her voice tense with urgency.

"I'm sorry, Lana, but I have to go. It's urgent," she said, her eyes already scanning the room for her things.

Lana watched Vivian's retreating figure, her heart sinking as she realized that her chance for help had slipped away.

Nicholas let out a sigh of relief, his posture relaxing as he watched his mother leave.

Lana played with her fingers, unable to meet Nicholas' gaze.

Nicholas, sensing her fear, ordered coldly, "Mike, bring her to my study.

"Lana's eyes widened in alarm as she realized the dangerous situation she was now in.

She knew that once she was alone with Nicholas, there was no telling what he would do.

Mike, sensing the tension, reluctantly stepped forward and motioned for Lana to follow him.

Lana knew that resisting would only make things worse, so she reluctantly complied.

As Lana followed Mike, the air seemed to grow thicker with tension.

Every step echoed in her ears, her heart beating faster with each footfall.

Finally, they reached the study and Mike gestured for her to enter.

Lana took a deep breath, steeling herself for whatever Nicholas had planned.

Nicholas was waiting inside, his expression cool and calculating.

He leaned back against his desk, his eyes never leaving Lana's face.

"Lana," he began, his voice low and dangerous.

"We have some unfinished business to attend to."

Lana felt her breath catch in her throat as Nicholas' words hung heavy in the air.

She knew that whatever he had planned for her was not good, and she had to be prepared for anything.

"And what is it that you want from me?" she asked, her voice wavering slightly.

Nicholas' lips curled into a cold smile.

"Oh, I think you know very well what I want, Lana," he said.

Lana's mind raced, trying to think of a way out of this.

Nicholas slowly made his way towards Lana, his eyes gleaming with desire.

He raised his hand to lift her chin for a kiss, but Lana stopped him with her hands pressed against his lips.

"Wait," she breathed, her chest heaving as fear and nervousness gripped her.

Nicholas's eyebrows furrowed, his gaze fixed on Lana as she gathered the courage to speak.

"Shouldn't you reward me for helping you just now?" she asked, her voice trembling slightly."I deserve a gift."

He smiled and gently removed her hands from his lips.

"A gift, huh?" Nicholas asked, his voice filled with amusement.

"And what do you think you deserve as a reward, Lana?"Lana swallowed, her heart beating wildly in her chest as she met Nicholas' gaze.

"I want you... to spare me two days," she said, her voice shaking slightly.

"Two days without... without sex."Nicholas' eyebrows shot up in surprise.

"Only two days?" he asked, his smirk growing wider. "You don't think I can spare you more than that?"Lana's eyes widened in panic.

Nicholas watched Lana's reaction with a knowing smile, enjoying her nervousness.

"Tell me, Lana," he said, leaning back into his chair.

"Why do you think I can only spare you two days?"Lana felt her face flush, her thoughts racing as she tried to come up with an answer that wouldn't anger Nicholas further.

"Because you... you want me," she whispered, her voice barely audible.

"You desire me, and two days without me would be too much."Nicholas chuckled softly, a dark gleam in his eyes.

"You flatter yourself, Lana," he replied, his tone dripping with sarcasm.

"But you're right, I do desire you. And if you think you can resist me for two days, then I'll humor you."Lana's heart fluttered in relief, a small smile crossing her lips as she fought back the urge to sigh in relief.

"But," Nicholas added, his tone turning serious. "Don't think for a second that I won't make up for lost time once those two days are up."

As Lana's smile faded, Nicholas stood from his chair, his movements slow and purposeful.

"Now," he said, taking a step towards her.

"I'll expect you to report to my room the day after tomorrow. And Lana?"Lana looked up, her eyes widening as she met Nicholas' piercing gaze.

Nicholas grinned slyly, his eyes dancing with mischief.

"You remember when I said I had a gift for you?" he asked, his voice dripping with seductive undertones.

Lana's eyes widened in disbelief, her body trembling with excitement.

"A... a gift?" she stuttered, her heart racing at the thought of what it could be.Nicholas nodded, his smirk growing wider.

"Yes, a gift. I'm offering you a chance to join Golden Fame Entertainment, the most prestigious entertainment company out there.

"Lana's mouth fell open, shock and joy flooding her senses.

As Lana's mind raced with possibilities, Nicholas watched her reaction with the satisfied smirk of a predator.

She knew that an offer like this didn't come without a price.

"What do you want in return?" she asked, her voice a faint whisper in the stillness of the room.

"I want nothing in return Lana, I'm just being a good gentleman" he said smirking.

Lana stared at him suspiciously and he chuckled softly.

Nicholas' smirk widened, his eyes gleaming with mischief.

"Of course I'm serious," he said, his voice dripping with arrogance.

"This is my way of thanking you for your little favor. Consider it a token of my appreciation."

Lana felt a mix of gratitude and nervousness wash over her.

She knew that Nicholas didn't give gifts without some sort of hidden agenda, but she also knew that this was an opportunity she couldn't pass up.
