Avery has been friends with Suzzy since high school, she saved her name,' Baby', since she's the only baby she has.
She was about to disconnect the call when Alex said;
"Answer it."
Avery was surprised by what Alex said also he said it calmly.
" Should I answer it here or outside?" Avery asked
" Outside". Alex replied
Members seated in the meeting room were confused, for the first time Alex had told someone to answer a phone call. The last person whose phone rang in the meeting room was fired, maybe after answering the call she will be fired. Some members thought about that. Avery lowered her head before leaving the room, the number of eyes staring at her was a lot. Getting outside the answer she answered the call;
"What?"
" Woah girl! , What's with the voice? I'm sorry I couldn't come to the parkas we planned, my hiss added extra work to my normal work." Suzzy said.
" So, why didn't you call to inform me?"Avery asked
" Baby Avery, as I said I was busy," Suzzy said in a baby tone.
" Mm, whatever, I'm busy right now, I'll call you later"
" Avery I'm sorry, just listen up, will you?" Suzzy whined
"Suzzy, I'll speak to you later, I have a meeting to attend, " Avery said
"Oh My Goodness!, you got the job, didn't you? Suzzy squealed.
" Yeah, yeah. Whatever, we'll talk later " Avery said before hanging up.
She took a deep breath before entering the meeting room, entering the room, all eyes were fixed on her, and she felt nervous about it. She confidently walked and stood near Alex.
" Begin," Alex exclaimed.
Spending hours in the meeting room, Avery felt tired standing next to Alex.
Alex turned to look at her, seeing her tired face, he cleared his throat.
"Avery," he said in a strict tone.
Avery was startled and looked at her boss;
" Sir?"
" Introduce yourself " Alex ordered
Avery was tongue-tied for a moment before she cleared her throat.
"Hello everyone, my name is Avery Robertson, actually I don't know if I'm an employee here, " she said looking at Alex
" You are!" Alex jeered
" But-" she couldn't finish her sentence when Alex interrupted
"Don't talk anymore or else".
" Or else what?" Avery asked
Alex was fuming with anger;
"Don't test my patience, Avery!, I said you are employed and that's final!"Alex gritted his teeth.
" Fine, whatever" Avery shrugged her shoulders
Alex couldn't contain his anger anymore
" Everyone dismiss, except you Avery." Avery gulped down saliva, she knew this time, she had crossed the line.
Everyone left the room with different facial expressions.
Alex stood up from his chair, moved forward and said;
"Don't test my patience, Avery Robertson, when I say something it is final, don't talk back". Looking at her, Alex placed both hands in his pockets and moved forward towards Avery, Avery quivered as Alex started moving forward, she held the documents in her hands firmly, and she forgot that the was a wall behind her. Her back hit the wall, and Alex removed his hands from his pockets, he trapped Avery in between his hands.
"Don't try me, girl,!"
Alex whispered in her ear, Avery closed her eyes tightly and turned red within some minutes.
Alex grimaced at the red face of Avery and melted within him, he placed his hands down and looked at Avery's messy hair. He raised his left hand and caressed her hair. Avery opened her eyes and stared straight at Alex's. They snapped out of the fantasy world when Avery's stomach growled;
"Sorry," Avery said closing her eyes
