In a universe almost swallowed by the chaos of froze beasts which were let loose from the gates of retribution, Yuli's eyes suddenly flew open and narrowed in dangerous alertness, her brows pulled together as a frown settled on her face. Dissolving the barrier that covered her, she got up hurriedly, cutting her rest short and tied her robe together. Her ice blue eyes shone even brighter as her mind power worked, pulling her silver hair which reached all the way to the middle of her back together in a tight high bun as she disappeared.
These creatures were at it again, this time around they almost discovered her lair at the coast forest, the only place she goes to take a break from all the fightings, not even her house as they already knew the place. She created an illusion of her self at the mountains and made them change direction before her safe haven was discovered and giving her enough time to recollect her mind.
She closed her eyes for a few seconds, and when she opened them again, the glow in them was almost blinding with a now visible golden flame at the center of her orbs, glistering in viciousness and extreme coldness. A smirk formed on her heart shaped lips as appeared at the mountain top the next moment.
"I see you gullible creatures never learn" she sneered at the two froze beast as big as a gorilla with sharp claws around their body.
Their response was a loud growl as they attacked her immediately aiming at her heart. Not wanting to waste time with them, her double swords were suddenly mid air, one engulfed in flames, the other in ice. The two double edged swords came together releasing tremendous force of fire and ice down at the two beasts who seemed like they weren't going down without a fight.
It's sharp body claws enlarged, forming a pretective scale on them as they bared their fangs sending out sharp edged ices towards Yuli from their mouths.
"Okay, I see you've learned a few moves recently. Now you make me feel like a proud teacher, all the fights with your kind and you can finally put up a new trick" in a blink of an eye she was behind them, a long rope with thorns appeared in her hand and she flug it around them, holding the two beasts in place. She ripped off their claws and they howled in agony.
"Ha! where is your trick now? Always remember you can't finish what I started" she said in mockery. The force from the swords clashed down on them sending their bodies flying in different directions apart from each other.
Yuli took a deep breath, her eyes returning back to it's original color of ice blue, her sword returned to her hand and she dissipated it. She hoped the stupid things won't won't go attacking people now or come after her. Not that she was weak, her strength is inexhaustible, she just needed at least a day break without the froze beasts causing havoc.
In Winter Universe, the froze beasts led by a dark spirit had overthrown the royal family, ruled and terrorized the inhabitants for a millennium years until a saviour Noah, a surviving decendant from the royal blood accumulated enough power to fight the dark spirit and killed him but seeing the numerous amount of extremely strong beast in rampage as a result of their master's death he knew he couldn't handle all of them. Therefore, he could only use the last resolution, sending them to retribution.
The gates of retribution can't be opened except a life is given and Noah sacrificed his life to open the gates of retribution, the beasts were locked in there to be tormented and eventually die after a few hundred years.
Peace was restored and royals were elected to continue the rule.
However, fourteen years ago when she was six the beasts were suddenly let lose for some reason, that was about the time Yuli's mother died and whoever freed them hasn't been discovered. The royal family were almost exhausted from protecting the people.
Yuli was suddenly left alone with nobody to care for her, she didn't even know her father. Her mother told her he was killed by a beast before she was born, she was still mourning her mother's death when she got attacked by a beast, helpless against the huge creature she raised her arm in front of her in defense shrieking in fear, only for a power she didn't know where it came from to surge out from her as the beast got close and killed it before it devoured her.
She looked around, clearly surprised and confused to check if someone had saved her, upon seeing not even a single soul around her gaze landed on the beast that was about to snap life out of her initially and it was covered in flames. She was in total denial because nothing like that has ever occured in Winter Universe, they were Iceis, creatures of ice magic and there is no relation between ice and fire, the beast was also killed by a single hit, just impossible! but the warmth she felt in her body left her with no choice but to believe that great force had come from her.
Winter is an ice cold universe with creatures of the cold, they don't feel warmth neither do the cold affect them so Yuli felt really weird sensing warmth in her body. Two days later, the royal guards were suddenly at her home, the queen had aksed to bring her to the palace, she followed obediently and got to the palace. The palace was a huge ice castle with the air around more chill than other places.
Yuli was taken up to the throne room which had four sits that depits power, two were placed together for the king and queen and two placed sidely opposite each other for the two princes, Abel, the crown prince and Zeke his younger brother. She had never been to the palace or seen any member of them before and wasn't sure how she felt about being there now. Queen Lina was seated on her sit with king Lucian beside her, immediately she stepped in the king's intense gaze lingered on her.
"She's the one" he said and finally gave her a warm smile after observing her keenly. "The heavens has finally given us someone who will restore peace and exterminate the beasts, you're special little one and would become someone strong" Yuli wondered if they knew what happened with her and the beast previously and it turned out they did. Abel had protested to kill her saying she was a curse, but immediately he touched her hand, his palm got burned and he quickly withdrawed it. That put everyone in awe
She was trained in the palace from that day, and never went home, she refused at first, very unwilling to be turned into someone to fight beasts but the choice wasn't hers. Going against the king was not a very wise thing to do. The queen crowned her a princess, she took the surname of the royals, Reign, and at some point she began to see them as her guardians, she wasn't treated badly but her training was very harsh, to master the control of the flames in her and merge with ice she went through fire, she was feeezen almost to the point of death but she survived it through and by the age of ten her strength was already terrifying.
The beasts were always targeting her, and always aimed for her heart, to rip out the core of her flames and swallow it but that is an impossible thing to happen.
She created two double edged swords of the two elements coexisting in her, Fire and Ice because her strength was just like a double edged sword, people get burned just by touching her and mastering fire and ice required undistracted focus which took a toll on her mind at the initial stage and she was always unconscious at times when she wasn't fighting but with time she had almost mastered it and it had no backlash in her mind anymore.
She became invincible, killing the beasts were effortless but they were just too many and most of them regenerates back, Yuli discovered that this was an ability they didn't have initially, it was clear that somebody was behind them, but who? Finding the person would be the end of the beasts but she was sure whoever it was didn't have enough guts to reveal themselves because obviously he or she is scared of her.
What was the person trying to achieve anyway? and people had been randomly disappearing for a while now, she just wanted everything to come to an end, but.. she knew the end was far from now.
Yuli loosed her silver hair down and let it flutter in the wind, she almost disappeard back to coast forest when she sensed a presence around.
