Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 : Evolution and Decisions

My eyes still glued the mobile screen which shows:

---

Evolving Notice:

Your companion, Satori, is attempting to evolve. Do you wish to assist in the process? Y/N

---

A wave of nostalgia washed over me as I read the name Satori. It had been my little companion during my time in Soleria—a fish I'd discovered and named myself while I was learning the intricacies of the world. At the time, it was small, insignificant, and more of a peaceful presence in the background than an active part of my journey. Still, I'd grown fond of the little creature.

I stared at the screen, feeling a strange mix of excitement and confusion. What did it mean for Satori to evolve? And how would it work in this world?

Shrugging, I tapped Yes, my curiosity getting the better of me. A moment later, the screen shimmered, and the app's interface changed to show an image of Satori, swimming peacefully in a small pool of water, just as I remembered. But then, the water around it began to churn and glow with an otherworldly light. My heart raced as I watched the fish undergo a rapid transformation.

Satori's form stretched and twisted, growing larger and more majestic by the second. The once-small fish morphed into a towering, serpentine dragon with scales that shimmered like precious gems. Its wings, though ethereal, seemed powerful, and its deep, glowing eyes exuded ancient wisdom. This was no ordinary evolution—this was something far greater.

---

Congratulations!

Satori has evolved into The Primordial Dragon, the first of its kind. Its powers are boundless, and it remains a loyal companion.

---

I blinked at the screen, my mind racing to comprehend what had just happened. Satori—the fish I had almost forgotten about—had turned into a primordial dragon? My lips twitched into a half-smile. "Well, that's definitely not something you see every day."

I barely had time to process Satori's transformation when another notification appeared, this time about the seed I had planted in Soleria. The message was similar, requesting my assistance in its evolution. I hesitated for only a second before tapping Yes again, too intrigued to resist.

The app's display shifted once more, showing the tiny seed I had nurtured, now glowing brightly as its roots expanded and grew. Slowly, it began to sprout and rise from the earth, transforming into a massive, towering tree. It was unlike any tree I'd ever seen, with golden leaves that shimmered like the morning sun and bark that seemed to pulse with life.

---

Congratulations!

The World Tree has fully grown, its roots now intertwined with the fabric of reality itself.

---

I stared at the screen, marveling at the sight of the world tree. Setting my phone down, I let out a long breath. Everything was happening so fast. Powers, evolutions, dragons, world trees—my life was becoming more like a fantasy RPG by the minute. I rubbed my temples, trying to ground myself in reality. Still, I couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder at what I was experiencing.

But amidst all this, there was one thing I couldn't get out of my mind: Yuki Takahashi's offer.

---

I'd spent the day thinking about it—modeling. The idea seemed absurd at first, but the more I thought about it, the more it seemed like a chance to take control of my life. My reflection in the mirror was proof enough that I wasn't the same person I used to be. I looked the part now, didn't I?

But doubt still gnawed at the back of my mind. Could I really pull this off? Was I cut out for something like modeling, or was this just another way to set myself up for failure?

Sighing, I reached for the business card Yuki had given me, running my fingers over the raised text. My gut told me to take the leap, but old insecurities held me back. Still, what did I have to lose? I had nothing to my name and no direction. At least this could be something.

Before I could second-guess myself, I dialed the number on the card. The phone rang twice before a familiar voice answered.

"Yuki Takahashi speaking."

"Uh, hey. It's Renji," I said, my voice catching slightly. "I've decided to take you up on your offer."

---

Yuki's Perspective

When I first saw Renji, I knew he was different. Not just because of his striking appearance, though that certainly helped, but because of the way he carried himself. There was a certain rawness to him, a quality that felt... unpolished. It was perfect for the modeling world—people love someone they can relate to, but also someone who can dazzle them. And Renji was exactly that.

But when I introduced myself as a talent scout, I wasn't being entirely truthful. The agency was mine. I had founded it after leaving home, determined to prove to my mother that I could succeed without relying on the family name.

My mother came from old family , and in her world, tradition and reputation were everything. She had never supported my ambitions. She wanted to marry me into some reputed family to increase our family reputation, but that life wasn't for me. Modeling, fashion—it was my passion, and I wanted to build something of my own.

Starting this agency had been my way of doing that. But without my mother's support, I'd struggled. Every time I landed a new talent, it felt like a small victory. And Renji... Renji could be my biggest one yet.

When I first approached him, I didn't want to overwhelm him by revealing I was the owner. I knew how intimidating that could be. So, I told him I was just a scout. I figured it would make me seem more approachable, and I was right—he didn't run away.

Now, he had called me back, and I could hardly contain my excitement. I just needed to make sure I played this right.

Renji's Perspective

After hanging up the phone, I lay back on my bed, staring at the ceiling. A modeling career. Who would've thought? My old self would've laughed at the idea. But now…maybe this was the start of something new.

[An : Comment your views on this chapter and I can understand if you think he is little coward at the starting but I am trying to show how he is improving himself as a person while gaining confidence in himself slowly and as for the time he loved in Soleria it was just him alone and there was no social interaction.]
