Chereads / The second rise of a Villain / Chapter 2 - Granny

Chapter 2 - Granny

One day, Matt's mom picked him from the daycare very stressed out. They went really fast at home and she busted into tears as soon as she closed the door. Matthew as confused but tried to grab her tears because he felt an intense amount of mana from her. But she started calming down, thinking he was trying to wipe her tears to make her feel better. After she stopped crying, she putted him on the floor and grabbed his tiny hands.

- Look sweetie, we are going to move out. That means that we will not be here anymore... and you will no be seeing your friend... -

She said with a painfull smile. Matthew tries to argue that he needs to continue contacting his very first minion, but as a baby, he can't say arguments that complicaded. He gets angry at not even being able to explain his point and starts whining while stumping in the floor and shaking his arms.

- I know you are mad, but look! You are going to meet your grandparents! Mommy's mom and dad! Isn't that cool? -

He slowly stops whining and starts thinking about it. If he meets her parents, he can actually track down her origins, which could facilitate him in understanding his own powers and becoming more powerfull easier, so he accepts.

She takes pictures of most objects in the apartament and then starts packing Matthew's things on a baby bag, while he tries to help by making a pile of random stuff next to her until he finally gets sleepy. She take his shoes and clothes out and puts him on the improvised cradle, which is currently a drawer from a broken cabinet with a pillow and a towel. She kisses him goodnight but he keeps starring at her and murmuring "binky" until she gaves up and gives him his binky so he finally get to sleep. "I still need to know how to make you give up on that." She thinks while smiling sadly and kissing him goodnight again.

He woke up already on the train, fully dressed and on his mother's lap.

- You must have played a lot to sleep that much! -

She said jokingly.

- Why we are in a twain? -

Matthew asked, still sleepy.

- How do you know we are in a train? You are such a smart little boy! -

She said while cuddling him. As always, she sounded very sad and like she was hiding something. He knew she was hiding something, probably just some random adult stuff no decent parent would dump on their baby as if the kid that barely has any teeth was a therapist. But even if she was hiding something, even if that something was the only big reason for them to move, he felt extremamly happy for being called smart and kept pointing at random things and people, such as passangers, phones, trees and outdoors and loudly saying what they were to get complemented again. That lasted for the remainding five hours of the ride. They finally came to their stop and Matt was still curious, but sleepy, so she carried him throw the another hour until they finally got to her parents house. Hesitantly she knocked on the door and her mother opened it. They looked very alike, both short brunettes with light eyes, but Matt's mom was still taller than her and had very light blue eyes while ther grandmother was smaller, had hazel eyes and glasses.

- AVA! My daughter! -

She hugged her. "So that's her name! It took a while!" Matthew thought.

- And you must be little Matthew, am I right? -

She booped his nose while smiling. Matthew was just annoyed and quite confused, not thinking that was funny at all. The grandmother tell them to enter and the very moment she shut the door, all that happiness and sweetness was gone. Her smile turned into a frown and her tone of voice changed completely.

- If you were more decent you wouldn't be in that situation. -

She said, Ava instantly felt guilty and was holding her tears as hard as she could. Matt felt said guilt, because she started smashing him accidentally.

- I am going to warn your father. You can stay here. -

Ava's mother said while rushing to another room. Standing still, despise her legs hurting. Matthew is just confused with the situation, but maybe it's just because he's a baby and nobody will explain such complex things to a kid that isn't even potty trained yet, and most importantly, he is sleepy.

Five minutes later, Ava's parents are both there, they look deeply disappointed. Matthew don't even know these people but he already dislikes them.

- H...Hi...? Haven't seen you in 7 years... -

Ava said, nervously.

- You can stay. BUT, get out as soon as possible. -

Her father said in a deep tone.

- That's our granson, she told us about him on the phone. -

Her mother said in a very lighter tone. They stay in silence for a few moments before she spoke.

- You two can stay on your old room. -

- Thank you, mom. -

Ava grabs her things and rush to her old bedroom.

The days pass by, Matt's grandparents are quite cold and distant while Ava is occupy trying to get a job.

One day, his grandparents were shouting, and as a curious boy, he decided to check it out.

- That DEGENERATE can't do anything right! First she decided to kill that filthy villian on life national TV, now she decided to party around, have a child and throw at us to take care of it while she is most likely making another. -

Her father said. Matthew got offended by being called "Filthy villian".

- The bare minimun I expected before becoming a granny was a wealthy and stable son in law, a marriage and your retirement. Now she lives here again and I have to take care of that br... hmm... Hi? -

Her mother said disappointed and exausted, but then finally realised he was there.

- Diaper. -

Matthew said, pretending he haven't heard anything. He in fact needed his diaper changed because nobody had done it in over 9 hours. He himself didn't knew how exactly no one smelled him that way.

- Why did that good for nothing girl still didn't potty trained him already? That kid is at least two years old. -

Her father mumbled, but Matthew heard it. He doesn't know how to feel about it, he is 14 months old, that is way less than two years.

Matt got changed and soon after it, Ava finally got home, very happy.

- I GOT IT! I GOT A JOB! -

She was screaming in joy, Matthew went running towards her and hugged her leg. Her parents also joined the commemoration.
