"Wait, Captain! We need more time—we can't find a place yet, just give us a second!" Ali's voice came through the comms, laced with urgency.
Lester clenched his fists, his patience running thin. They didn't have the luxury of time. "Hurry up! There's no more time!" he yelled back, his voice echoing in the tense air.
Suddenly, Ray's voice crackled through Lester's earpiece. "Lester, you're surrounded by multiple hostiles. And this time, it's not just zombies. It's J'avo."
Lester gritted his teeth, his frustration spilling over. "We already know that, Ray! They've got us pinned down, sniping us like deer! We need some help getting out of this mess!"
Ray's calm voice cut through the tension, offering a solution. "Listen, I'm giving you access to the weapon redline system. It'll show you the snipers' positions."
Lester blinked, quickly processing what Ray had said. "Weapon redline?"
"Yeah," Ray confirmed. "It's the bullet trajectory. The system will show you the line of fire, but you have to be careful. You can't be in that line—it's a death zone."
Lester nodded grimly, his heart racing. He relayed the information to Williams beside him and his team over the comms. "Alright, listen up. We've got access to redline tracking. It's going to show us the snipers' bullet paths, but it's also a danger zone. Stay the hell out of those lines, or you're as good as dead. Get ready to move."
Williams exhaled, bracing himself for what was coming. "Understood, Captain."
The redlines appeared on Lester's HUD, streaking across the field like deadly lasers. He could now see the angles of attack, pinpointing the rooftops where the snipers were hiding. The problem was, they were in prime positions—taking them out wouldn't be easy.
"Ray, how long do we have before those J'avo close in?" Lester asked, scanning the surroundings.
Ray's response was far from comforting. "Not long, Captain. They're moving fast."
Lester clenched his jaw. "Alright. We're going to have to act now. Ali, Frederick, Jason—positions! Do you see the redlines?"
Jason's voice came back. "Copy, Captain. We see them."
Frederick chimed in, "They're well hidden, but I've got eyes on one. Just need an opening."
Lester shifted his gaze back to Williams. "You ready? We're going to move, but we have to time this right."
Williams nodded, tightening his grip on his rifle. "Ready as I'll ever be, Captain."
Lester raised his hand, counting down silently with his fingers. Three…two…one. "Go!"
They darted from their cover just as a sniper's bullet whizzed past, narrowly missing Lester. The redline had given them just enough of a warning to dodge. The moment they reached the next set of cover, Frederick's rifle cracked through the air.
"One down!" Frederick's voice came through triumphantly.
Lester allowed himself a small moment of relief but knew it was far from over. "Good shot. Keep at it."
Another sniper took a shot, but Jason had already found a new vantage point. "Second one's in my sights."
Jason fired, and the second sniper dropped.
Lester motioned to Williams. "We're clear for now. Keep moving, but stay sharp."
They advanced, careful to avoid the redlines, while Ali and Frederick worked to clear any remaining snipers. The situation was intense, but the tide had shifted in their favor.
As they pressed forward, Ray's voice chimed back in. "The J'avo are closing in faster than expected. You've got to move, Captain."
Lester scanned the area, seeing the approaching horde in the distance. "We're on it, Ray. Just keep giving us updates."
Lester scanned the area carefully from behind the cover of the crates and spotted something valuable—a dead Spanish soldier lying not too far away, his hands still clutching an M95 sniper rifle. It was the kind of firepower that could turn the tide in their favor.
"Williams," Lester whispered sharply, catching his teammate's attention. "See that M95 over by the body of that soldier? We need that rifle. It's close enough, but we're going to have to be smart about this."
Williams followed Lester's gaze, his eyes locking on the rifle. "That's the kind of firepower we need, but there's no way we can just walk up and grab it with these snipers still out there."
Lester nodded. "Exactly. That's why we're going to create a distraction."
Williams looked at him, already processing the plan. "You want me to be the bait?"
Lester grinned, trying to lighten the mood. "Well, you're fast on your feet, right? Plus, I figured you could use the exercise. Those snacks you've been sneaking from the supply box haven't exactly been slimming."
Williams shot him a mock glare, rolling his eyes. "I'm only 'fast' when I'm running away from your terrible plans, Captain. But sure, let's make me the bait. Again."
Jason, who was crouched nearby, chimed in with a smirk, "Hey, look on the bright side, Williams. If you get shot, at least you won't have to listen to Lester's next motivational speech."
Frederick stifled a laugh as Williams sighed dramatically. "I swear, one of these days, I'm going to retire and open a nice bakery somewhere far away from all this madness."
Lester chuckled, giving him a light slap on the back. "Until then, we've got snipers to deal with. Ready to dodge some bullets?"
"Yeah, yeah," Williams muttered. "Let's just hope I'm quicker than the last donut I had."
With that, the team refocused, but the moment of levity gave them a much-needed boost before executing the plan.
"Now we We'll split up. I'll move to the sniper , and you draw the snipers' attention. While they're focused on you, i slip over and grab that rifle. Once i in position, we'll work together to take out the remaining snipers."
Williams didn't hesitate. "Got it, Captain."
Lester smirked, the gravity of the situation not lessening his confidence. "Don't worry, I've got a knack for getting shot at. They won't even know you're there."
Lester activated his comms, addressing the rest of the team. "Frederick, Jason—listen up. We've got a sniper rifle near a dead soldier, but it's too hot to grab right now. We're going to create a diversion. Split up, draw their fire, and give me enough time to retrieve it. Stay low and watch those redlines. Any shot could be your last if you're not careful."
Frederick responded quickly. "Understood, Captain. Ready when you are."
Jason chimed in, his voice calm but focused. "Got your back, Captain. Let's make this quick."
"Alright, Williams, on my mark."
williams stood slightly, just enough to draw the attention of the remaining snipers. A shot cracked through the air, hitting the edge of the crate he was behind, sending splinters flying. It worked. The snipers were focused on him.
"Now, Williams! Go!"
lester darted from his position, moving swiftly across the open ground. williams fired a few rounds in the direction of the snipers, forcing them to stay down. Frederick and Jason provided covering fire from their positions, each shot precise and calculated.
The tension was thick as lester made his way to the fallen soldier. He slid down next to the body, grabbing the M95 sniper rifle with a swift motion. He checked the rifle quickly—it was in good condition and fully loaded. Perfect.
"Got it" lester said, his voice strained but steady.
william's voice came back through the comms, filled with relief. "Good work, capten. Now let's end this."
lester didn't waste any time. He set up behind a stack of crates, carefully adjusting the scope on the M95. From his new vantage point, he had a clear view of the rooftops where the remaining snipers were hiding.
"I've got eyes on three more snipers," lester reported. "I'll take the one on the left first it We'll keep them distracted."
Another sniper fired at williams position, but this time lester was ready. He squeezed the trigger, and the distinct crack of the M95 echoed through the air. The sniper dropped instantly.
"One down," lester confirmed.
Frederick, took advantage of the momentary confusion and fired at another sniper, taking him out cleanly.
"Second down," Frederick called.
Jason sighted the last sniper. "Third one's mine," he said quietly, lining up his shot. His rifle barked once, and the final sniper fell.
"All clear, Captain," Jason reported, his voice steady.
Lester exhaled, feeling the weight of the moment lift slightly. "Good job, everyone. Williams, this sniper rifle just saved our skins."
Williams chuckled, still catching his breath. "No kidding, Captain. Let's just make sure we don't need any bait in the futer."
Then the hangar doors opened again to let williams and lester get in.
The team regrouped . But Lester knew this wasn't the end. The J'avo were still out there, and they had to stay sharp.
Ray's voice crackled through . "Nice work, team. You've bought yourself some time, but those J'avo are getting closer. Get ready for more action."
Lester looked at his team, the exhaustion on their faces clear, but they were still standing strong. "Alright, we're not done yet. Let's gear up and move out. We've got to stay ahead of whatever's coming."
