Chapter 31 - Fever

"Her temperature is on the higher side..." Arthur thought feeling worried, taking his lips off her forehead.

It wasn't serious, but he couldn't take any chances.

She'd been through too much for him to ignore even a mild fever.

Looking at her frown in her sleep, he felt a tug in his heart at her endless pain and suffering.

Arthur quietly left the basement, carefully shutting the door behind him.

The streets were even quieter than before.

The bell above the door jingled softly as he entered, the sudden warmth of the store welcoming him.

"Ding-Ding"

Behind the counter stood an older man with thin glasses, he cleared his throat, offering a polite nod.

"What can I help you with tonight?" he asked, slightly gruff but kind.

"I need something for a fever," Arthur replied.

The man adjusted his glasses, nodding thoughtfully.
