~The Wedding Day~
The day began like every other day to Jasmine, she had slept late and woke up early.
She stared back at her reflection from the mirror emotionlessly, she could barely recognise herself beneath all the makeup.
All of the people that were rushing about tells how much work has been put into preparing her for the day.
Her dress still hung on a mannequin somewhere in the suite with Amanda putting her last touch.
Her hair that has always been worn straight and neatly was currently an array of curls.
Gently pinned in an updo with some ringlets left to dangle free, she bore close resemblance to a princess which was a total turn from her usual self.
"Wow!
This is unbelievable, if only you can smile a little bit" Amanda urged but that only made her scowl.
"We have thirty minutes left, you guys should hurry" Amanda reminded the people getting Jasmine ready before hurrying off.
The place the wedding would be taking place is about five minutes drive from where they were, Jasmine had stayed the night here so that she wouldn't be late to her own wedding and lucky enough she wasn't.
Her makeup and dress was in good condition, she just wants to get this done as soon as possible.
She was beginning to get irritated by all the fuses and people around her.
The crowd was also starting to get on her nerves.
Waiting anxiously inside her Limousine she started calling Jordan's phone.
She sent him a text an hour ago and has not gotten a response from him till now.
She felt something was off but she just couldn't place a finger on it.
"You are supposed to be inside by now but you are here scrolling on your phone?" Amanda whispered-yelled at Jasmine, a look of alarm on her face.
"I cannot get out of the car myself, the dress is too heavy" Jasmine snapped at her in annoyance.
"Well, don't forget you requested for this yourself"
"Don't remind me" Jasmine scowled as she struggled to get out of the car with the help of two other people.
"Do you know if Jordan is here already?" Jasmine asked.
"I don't know but his family are here so stop worrying yourself about him".
"Worrying?
Why would I worry about him?".
Amanda facepalmed in shock.
~
It's been over three hours since the priest has been waiting for the Groom and the Bride but the groom was nowhere to be found.
Everyone was calling his phone but he picked none of the calls. He was out of reach.
The tons of reporters and paparazzi at the venue were going crazy with gossip.
"The Groom has vanished into thin air, he has refused to show up or he is no longer interested in the marriage".
Gossips like this were beginning to circulate around.
Jasmine kept looking at her phone, her eyes focused on it and waiting eagerly.
Confusion was beginning to replace her initial anger.
"Where the hell are you Jordan?"
She thought, her lips in a thin line.
Being alone wasn't helping the issue as she was beginning to boil with rage.
She came to a wild conclusion that he had decided to mock her in front of everyone
Unable to withstand the craziness any longer, she left the private room and made her entrance into the wedding hall alone.
The noisy atmosphere immediately became dead silent.
Some paparazzi began to click their cameras rapidly away.
Jasmine ignored everything around and walked down the long and wide aisle, alone, a bouquet of flowers in hand. Ready to get married but no Groom.
Her heart was filled to the brim with hatred.
She despised him, she thought painfully.
Reaching the podium, she calmly picked up the microphone and turned to the waiting guests.
"Good afternoon everyone" she began calmly, her clipped tone giving nothing away.
"As we all know this ceremony should have begun over three hours ago, but it turned out that Mr Jordan Lewis the groom today won't be able to make it here.
I, on behalf of both of us and of our families sincerely apologize to everyone.
This is the end of today's occasion, I wish you all a safe journey back to your respective houses".
And with a loud clank the microphone dropped to the floor.
The crowd of about a thousand guests were still trapped in the shock of what Jasmine said that till she left the hall no one reacted to her words.
The hall full of people erupted into loud conversations, shock and awe changing the atmosphere.
The Wedding has come to a premature end.
In the private room, Jasmine calmly began to take apart her attire.
"Please get me something to change into, " she said to the first person that appeared into the room.
"Alright" And the person went back out.
Smiling calmly at herself, Jasmine came to a wild conclusion.
"He wanted to humiliate me," she murmured.
"I should not have agreed to this crazy idea despite the prenup".
"You will pay dearly for this Jordan".
"Jasmine!"
Amanda burst into the room in a rush, her eyes as large as saucepans.
"Please don't yell, my head is banging as it is," Jasmine warned in a tired voice.
"How can you do that to yourself?
You don't know if he is on his way, what will you do if he gets here to this mess?"
"Which mess?
The one he caused?"
"He should have known better than to show up late, I bet he did it intentionally"
"No one will intentionally come to their own wedding late, you should have at least given him some more time.
Whereas I warned you.
Now, look at all this mess" Amanda continued emotionally.
"Enough!
I need a dress to change into, find one for me or you leave me the hell alone".
She yelled, startling her friend.
She was starting to lose her cool, her anger was all the way to the roof.
She was beyond her limit.
