Styx- When you wake up, a portion of my locked power will be yours. It might take...a lifetime to unlock my full potential but-
*Styx gets interrupted by Aiden*
Aiden- Why would you do something so selfless?
Styx- Obviously...I have an ulterior motive. That's why I chose you. I came here on my will. Because I know only you can do it.
Aiden- *muttering*
- I swear I'll become an errand boy in this life.
Styx- Huh? What'd you say?
Aiden- Nothing. What do you want?
Styx- I reckon the goddess told you...that you'd be a little different from everyone else. That's me. But I am not like her-
Aiden- How do you know who she is...?
Styx- I am in your brain, of course, I can access it too. But back to the point...What I want is revenge. Since I can't possibly take a physical shape anymore... I'll do it through you. Then again...I can't do anything to you. I can't take over your body as your determination is too strong. So let's make a deal. You will get the power to reach your goal, in return, you will take revenge for me. If you succeed, I shall be your servant forever.
Aiden- Fair enough. Then Styx,

(Aiden holds his hand out as a purple magical field forms under them marking Styx's forehead and Aiden's right-hand palm lights up simultaneously)
Styx- Contract spell? How do you know it?
Aiden- When you showed me the book right now, I memorized it.
Styx- *Getting down from the throne, Styx kneels. Aiden's glowing palm touching Styx's forehead*
Aiden- When I call...
Styx- I shall always be there.
Aiden- When I order...
Styx- I shall always obey.
(After the contract is completed, everything goes white. As it mixes with the morning light falling on his eyes, his dream breaks)
Aiden- I had a surpris- huh?
*Upon waking up Aiden notices Bree sleeping again beside his bed*
Aiden- Hey Bree. Morning.
*Aiden tries to wake her up, but she only mumbles something and then starts sleeping again*
Bree- Aiden... don't do anything...stupid...gwah...
Aiden- There she goes. Well...
*Getting up, Aiden feels strangely powerful*
Aiden- Styx?
Styx- Yoo!
*A voice popped up in Aiden's mind*
Aiden- Explain the powers.
Styx- Alright, go somewhere desolate.
Aiden- *He moves a bit farther away from the main village, in front of an open waterfall*
- Alright, no one should be coming here.
Styx- I can't directly influence you with my strength yet, but I can allow you to use your element.
Aiden- But my awakening...
Styx- Well you can't possibly get corrupted, because it's me.
Aiden- Uh huh...okay so what do I do?
Styx- Imagine that you want to teleport or dash somewhere nearby.
Aiden- Alright...
*Aiden focuses as his body slowly starts emitting particles in the light of green and black*
Styx- Wait!
Aiden- Huh? What's it?
*He stops*
Styx- I should warn you about the side effects first. Rift can't possibly corrupt you, as it's not a normal element.
Aiden- Like?
Styx- What Rift is, is just parallel universe manipulation.
Aiden- What? That's broken...but confusing. Elaborate a little.
Styx- Put in simple terms, you can connect to your other self from other parallel universes. I told you to teleport. So basically You, Aiden, have Rift. You will get to choose one Aiden out of infinite parallel universes and switch places with him, teleporting in his place. Just like how the goddess makes Atrucian Aiden live earth life, and makes you live Atrucian life.
Aiden- I see...so the body won't switch but external properties like location and rotation etc will. Since there are infinite parallel universes, there is at least one Aiden for every outcome... complicated but logical.
Styx- There's more. By using more of your power you can create illusions.
Aiden- I think I get it, but continue.
Styx- You can summon afterimages of you from other parallel universes. This is how it works. Right now, in this universe, you are standing. But maybe in some other universe, Aiden is fighting. You can summon afterimages like that on your enemy to confuse them, then attack him yourself. And if you want to put more of your power, the illusions can deal damage as well while they are attacking. Their survival time depends on how much power they use.
Aiden- Not as broken-
Styx- It is. Just you need to use more power and make your imagination go wild. You can also create portals, imbue your body with Rift, etc. But you'll need way more power.
Aiden- I see... that's all?
Styx- There's a downside. Using Rift will delete your memories little by little.
Aiden- Huh?!
Styx- Yeah. The more power you use, the more it happens. By doing a simple teleport...it will delete 1 minute of memory right after your birth.
Aiden- Oh only 1 min?
Styx- Depending on the power usage, it can range up to forgetting everything except the present time. Like doing that imbue thing, you will lose a day's worth of your memory after birth.
Aiden- *He gets a little concerned*
So I shouldn't use it too much?
Styx- Don't use it consecutively many times. And your Rift is temporary. You won't have to rely on it. Give yourself some time to train, my powers will be your main.
Aiden- I understand.
Styx- Do you want to proceed?
Aiden- I mean I don't have a second choice now, do I?... Let me try.
*Aiden focuses closing his eyes, as particles start emitting again. His iris starts glowing as he opens his eyes. He can see multiple afterimages. Green hologram-like images of various Aiden, moving around. He focuses on one, on top of the waterfall*
Aiden- Hrgh!
*Aiden crosses his arms curling up, and teleports on top of the waterfall*
Styx- See? It's weird right?
Aiden- My head hurt...I felt like someone was ripping my head apart.
*He holds his head, but soon gets back to being normal. He has felt similar pain before*
Aiden- This pain is okay...but repetitively, that's nightmare.
Styx- Just gotta hold on to it I guess. It won't take too long I hope.
*Just as then Bree enters the place yawning*
Bree- Aiden...what are you doing up there...?
*Stretching her arms she says in worry*
Aiden- Nothing Bree. Just trying my powers out.
Bree- Really? I wanna see too!
*Her eyes light up as she requests*
Aiden- Sure...
(whispering)- Hey...Styx. Should I try the illusion?
Styx- Double the art, double the pain.
Aiden- Ah that's ok-
*Aiden gets interrupted by Bree*
Bree- Who are you talking to?
Aiden- Oh, no one. And yeah check this out.
*Aiden pulls his iron sword put, and jumps down. With a perfect landing, Aiden charges up*
Aiden- Haaa!
*Aiden shouts while 5 illusions appears, slashing through a huge rock in front of him into 5 chunks. By the time they are done, Aiden pulls back his sword. Using his Rift he dashes. With extra momentum, Aiden slashes through the rock into bits. Bree thought the shout was for extra force, while in reality it was a pain coping method*
Bree- Woahh... That's soooo cool-!
*Bree comes running at Aiden*
Bree- What's the name of it?
Aiden- Someth-
*Styx's voice from inside interrupts him*
Styx- Don't say the real name. Remember her brother is familiar with the elements. If the word reaches him, he would obviously point it out as a peculiar element. The odd one out. Say shadow. It's not same but similar.
Aiden- Uhm...Shadow.
Bree- Oh wow...
Aiden- Thanks...by the way I heard the village chief was calling to you. But you were asleep so I didn't wake you up.
Bree- Oh really...? I should get going then. You too! Come soon! Okay?
*As she runs back to the village, Aiden can finish his trial*
Aiden- *holding his head*
- That hurt harder than I anticipated...How much memory did I lose?
Styx- I think about an hour after your birth.
Aiden- Gosh I am still in the safe zone...
*After a while, Aiden stands up, cleaning the sweat off his face when suddenly he feels a hand on his shoulder*
Aiden- Huh?!
*Aiden quickly slashes behind him...only to find no one. He hears a voice coming from behind him again*
Unknown- Don't turn around. I have a job for you. Aren't you looking for one?
Aiden- Who are you?
Unknown- Someone who only wants to help you.
Styx (talking inside)- There's an immense elemental density in him. Enough to make anyone normal, go corrupted. You can't take him on at all.
Aiden- What do you want?
Unknown- I want you to do, what you are meant to do, Mr. Capell. I am a knight sent by her majesty. Where have you been...
