Chapter 26 - [26] Through the gates...

We found ourselves re-spawning on the dais back in beginner's town, instead of re-spawning in our fortress for some unknown game mechanic. But at that time I couldn't care less, as I was 5 minutes away from being late to my first guild meeting..."Master, the teleportation gate is that way!" Enju pointed as we stepped off the dais and into the side of the crowd, and it was then I noticed the drastic change in her outfit. From the beginner cloth shirt she wore, to the white snow themed skirt and top hat, and the usual stick wand at her side, was now a steel wand with a tiny blue crystal at the end."En?...Where did you get all all these items?" I raised a brow."Ah, you mean those equipment? Don't you think they are cute?" she spun around in her skirt, and ended it with a little dip at the end."Yes, yes...So how did you get the items?" I asked again."Let's see...After you went to sleep, I went online myself a grinded a wee bit of exp and...JIANG JIANG! I am now level 26!"26? I remember she was 19 yesterday..."You can shower me with praise now master! After all, this is my fate of being a super genuis AI..." Enju sighed lightly and shrugged. Her ego level is over 9000..."If you are over level 20, then which secondary class did you choose?" I asked."Witch, and Ice element!" She waved her wand around proudly. "And if you are still wondering about the equipment, I got bought it from a player merchant. The man was really nice, he gave me a huge discount! Enju lucky!"She said, as a kaomji flickered across her face:(≧◡≦)"Alright, let's just go now." I scratched my head, "Wait, which way is teleportation gate again?""You really are lost without me." Enju sighed and shook her head, and before I could even protest against that statement (which is ironically true), Enju grabbed me by the hand and began pulling our way through the crowd. And by the time we made it out to the other side, I was sweating and my face red from the heat."There it is master!" Enju pointed. It was a stone arch gateway, standing at about 40ft tall. Spotting ahead, the players who passed through the gate, disappeared behind a fog of bright purple light. And when the light has receded, the player was simply gone, as if its existence was wiped out."Do you know how to use the teleport gate?" I turned to Enju, who continued to drag me to the gate."Nope, but I saw it from a guide." she said, as we stepped through gate. A mirage of purple light immediately swallowed us, and when my vision refocused again, I realised we were hovering in mid-air on what appears to a purple galaxy swarming below. Behind us, was the same stone gate we came through, except it now displayed an image of the town square we were just at, with blurry figures moving across the street view."First..." Enju looked ahead and extended a hand. "Map!"Almost immediately, a human size parchment map un-scrolled it's self before us, and once it half fully un-scrolled, it just remained there in mid-air."I remember, Ivan telling us he sent someone waiting for us at Rochan's pass." I said."Understood." Enju hummed. "Map! Show us Rochan's pass!"A red dot appeared on the brown parchment map."Now take us there, Mr. Teleport gate!" Enju exclaimed, and as soon as she said it, a window popped before us.It will cost you 800g to travel to [Rochan's Pass], are you sure?[YES] [NO]800g is still a considerable amount of gold, and that was only for 1 person. And since we were nearly bankrupt, it would have been impossible for us to make the trip, if it weren't for Ivan kindly sponsoring each of us 1000g at that time."Master, you haven't clicked yet." Enju said."Just give me a sec, I will." I reached my finger for the window panel. "Oh and one more thing.""Hmm? What thing?""Don't call me master. Call me Riga!" I sighed, and slapped my forehead. "Last thing I want is for people to get the wrong idea...""I will try master! No, I mean Riga!" Enju smiled mischievously.Knowing there is not much I can do about it, I tapped the yes button in front of me. And a brief moment later, the image inside the gate shifted."Let's go master!" Enju said, pulling me out by the wrist again. And as soon as we step outside the gate, the entire landscape has changed. But the most notable difference was that here the sun was a dying shade of red, compared to bright lively day light back in the beginner's town.As we stepped away from the gate and onto scarcely crowded street. A voice called out to us:"Riga."We both stopped and turned to the owner of the voice. The man appeared to be in his lately twenties, and appeared to be of Asian descent. He wore a long blue waist coat, and a pair of thin glasses before his eyes."3 minutes and 21 seconds late..." the man said with an Japanese accent, as he snapped close his golden pocket watch. "But I will overlook this time." the man pushed up his glass with one finger and stepped forward:"Allow me to introduce myself. I am Kenai Ryuga, you can just call me Ryuga. I will be your tour guide and adviser for this session. Now follow me please."Q: What would you name yourself in a RPG game?
