Chapter 28 - Chapter 28

Before anyone could raise a question, a figure rushed inside the room, her hair still dripping wet, and she jumped straight into his arms.

"Thank you, Brother!" Anaiah was very excited and planted a dozen kisses on his face in quick succession, and sneakily even stole a peck from his lips.

"You're welcome." He nudged his nose with hers and put her down on her feet.

The girl then happily rushed up to her mother and started explaining to her how magical the pill was. She could see that she had grown a lot stronger, and even the simplest act of breathing became a lot easier and refreshing.

Then there was her skin that felt even softer, was without any blemishes, and Ginny too felt a little envious of the young Zarayne, acknowledging that Anaiah's beauty eclipsed hers.

Maria too entered the room not long after, and even Anaiah was stunned at seeing the changes in her.

She looked like she had just turned 27!

Maria, however, did not pay attention to anyone and simply walked over to hug her son.

"Thank you."

"Anything for you, Mom." He chuckled and then nodded as he looked at her face. "I can tell that I got my good looks from you." He grinned, and she laughed.

"Yes, you did. But where did you find such a treasure?"

"Let's not talk about it." He brushed it off, making it clear that he did not want to talk about any of it.

"They are priceless, aren't they?"

"Yes, they are." He nodded. "And a person can only consume one drop of that liquid in their life, turns them a couple of decades younger and also slows down their ageing process."

"Hmph!" Anaiah pouted, a little unhappy that he didn't give her the liquid he was talking about.

"It's wasted on you." He chuckled.

"Fine." She did not make things difficult for him, and when he looked at his aunt, he could tell that she could not wait to try it.

"Come." Maria knew what her sister-wife's eyes begged her for, and she led her to her room.

Anaiah knew that her mother would need help with a bath and left as well, leaving Mikael under the scrutinising gaze of his grandfather.

"You should be careful when giving such things away." The old man advised. "People will come after your life if they know that you have such a treasure."

"Relax, Grandpa. I don't have much of it. Here, this is for you and Granny Bella." He handed the old man two cases.

"Keep them for your wives, Child. Or for your future children. It's wasted on us. We are old..."

"Enough, Grandpa." He stopped the man from bringing up old age and death. "These are for you. Please, for my sake, take them?"

Old Elijah sighed at his grandson's words and felt very warm in his heart.

"Okay." He said and put the cases in his pocket.

Mikael laughed when he saw his old man pick up his Grandma in his arms and take her to their room.

Despite his age, he was quite a strong man, thanks to being at the peak of Profound Realms. So, he was not worried that they would need help with bathing.

Now, only Ginny and he remained in the room, and she was looking at him as if he was some wizard.

"You can make people young!"

"Nope." He laughed. "I just got my hands on something good which helps people become a couple of decades younger. Unfortunately, I don't have lots of it." He sighed and then picked her up from her waist. "You will keep your husband's secret, won't you?"

Hearing him call himself her husband made her heart flutter, and she nodded her head in a promise.

"Good girl." He gave her a kiss and then sat down with her in his lap.

Ginny felt embarrassed when the maids returned with the snacks he had asked them to prepare, but he did not let go of her, and thankfully, none of them gave her a teasing look.

After finishing the snacks, Mikael took her on a tour around the manor, and she was amazed at how lavish and big it was.

"How much is the Estate worth?" She curiously asked, and he laughed at her question.

"Only fools would sell it. This manor holds hundreds of years of the Zarayne Family's heritage, and it makes it priceless in our eyes. As for the market value, this Estate is estimated to be worth around 2 Billion Draks."

Ginny stopped in her tracks and looked at him in disbelief.

"What?"

"How rich are you?!"

"I am not that rich, but my family is. Zarayne Family has a net worth of several Tens of Billions. You should know that we are only the fifth Richest Family in the City. The Albonns, Fletchers, Russells, and Daynes are richer. They might not be as powerful as us, though. Except for Fletchers. They are both richer and more powerful. However, they are not just based in Sylvor City. Their home city is Zunich City..."

The chat Ginny had with Mikael today truly opened the horizons for her, and she realised how insignificant people like her and her mother, who were fairly well-off in society, were in comparison to the truly rich and powerful.

On their way back, her phone suddenly rang, and seeing that it was her Mom, she quickly picked it up.

"Yes, Mom."

"Ginny, did you come home?"

"Yes, I needed to change clothes. Sorry for the mess."

"It's okay. Where are you now?"

"I am with Mikael at the Zarayne Manor."

There was a pause on the other end, undoubtedly in shock.

"You met his family?"

"Yes, Mom. Aunty Maria and Aunty Sariah are very nice to me." She sweetly said.

"Good, good. When you leave the Manor, give me a call. Okay?"

"Okay, Mom."

Ginny smiled at Mikael when the call ended and then happily hugged his arm.

Before she could say thank you to him, her phone buzzed again, and she saw it was a call from one of her classmates.

"Ginny! Why are you not checking our messages?"

"Sorry, Cru, I was busy."

"Come on. Okay, hurry up, check the videos we sent you. Oh my God, I am in love, Ginny. I am in love!"

"Okay, okay." She helplessly shook her head at her friend's antics and then opened the messages.

Her eyes instantly widened when she saw Mikael's face on the thumbnail of the videos that her friends had shared in the group.

Nothing could have prepared for what she saw next.

It was the recording from last night's Banquet at the City Lord's Manor, and in it, Mikael was playing the Journey of Love on the Violin.

Ginny felt dizzy at how good the music was, and when she saw the views on the video, her head buzzed.

She quickly checked the Hot Search, and there were several clips of Mikael trending at the top, and then there was the clip where NSF apprehended the leader of a Terrorist Group, who had sneaked inside the Banquet.

Only now she learned that the City was in turmoil.

Her phone buzzed again, and she hesitated but picked it up.

"Isn't he the most handsome man alive?!" Her friend excitedly asked, and she could hear the girls in the back fawning over Mikael as well.

"Yeah..." She blushed when she glanced at the object of her friends' fantasies standing next to her.

"What? You don't like him?"

"No." She bit her lip and said, suppressing her laugh.

"What?! Are you blind?! Are you deaf?!"

"Wait, Gin, be honest. Are you a Lesbian?"

"What? No!" She was dismayed at her friend's words.

"Then how come you don't like him?!"

"I... don't know. I just feel insecure when looking at him." She whispered, and her friends turned quiet.

Soon, she heard their lamenting sighs.

"You are right. He's someone whom we can only dream about."

"I hate you, Gin... you spoiled the mood."

"Mean!"

"Sorry." She smiled. "I will talk to you guys later. Okay?"

Ginny took deep breaths after she finished the call and then looked at her lover.

"You are a musician?!"

"One of the finest," He grinned at her, "want me to teach you piano?"

"Please?" She hopefully looked at him, and he smiled and grabbed her hand, leading her to the music room.

First, he played a piece of music at her request and then spent an hour and a half teaching her about the keys and the basics of playing the piano.

Eventually, they had to end their session when a maid came to invite them for lunch.

Ginny was not hungry because she had eaten to the fill only a few hours ago, so, she only chose to have the soup.

Mikael, on the other hand, happily tasted everything on the table, except for the sweets. He did not even touch them.

Aunt Sariah, who had suddenly turned into a young lady in her mid-twenties, seemed very happy.

It was the same for Grandma Bella.

Even though she had not turned into a young girl, her transformation was still very shocking.

She was the most graceful granny in the world. Slim, smart, looking to be in her late fifties. As for Grandpa Elijah, he looked like a handsome middle-aged uncle, who was in his late forties.

His hair was all black now, without a hint of grey or white hair, and he oozed just as much confidence as his son, who was back in his prime age of early thirties.

As Ginny looked around the family, she sighed in her heart.

No wonder Mikael, Anaiah, and little Micah were so beautiful.

The Zarayne genes were truly envious.

Suddenly, a thought crossed her mind, and she had a silly smile on her face.

What would her children look like?

She knew she was beautiful, and she hoped she would make beautiful babies with Mikael.

"There's something I want to share with all of you," Gabriel spoke towards the end of the meal. "I received a call from the Prime Minister's Office at 9 am."

Maria smiled as soon as she heard that there was a call from the Prime Minister's Office.

"A good news?"

"Yes." He smiled at her and then glanced at everyone at the table. "I have been appointed the City Lord of Skylar City. The announcement will be made on September 1st, and I have to take office before September 6th." He told them, and everyone raised their glasses for a toast.

"Congratulations, Dad!" Mikael smiled, and his father sighed.

"It was because Jose Romanio recommended me that this has happened. Otherwise, I would have had to wait for the next round of appointments that will take place 24 months later. So, thank you, Mikael."

Maria smiled when she heard her husband thank their son, and she felt very warm in her heart.

"You are welcome, Dad. And Skylar City is beautiful. Uncle and Aunt are already there, Michael as well, so it's a second home."

Everyone nodded to his words.

"Yes, I am really glad that it is Skylar City. Come to my office after lunch. I need to speak to you about something important."

"Yes." He obediently nodded his head.
