Just as Nao was getting lost in his daydream,Karis looked up, catching him staring. Their eyes met, Nao quickly look away focusing back at the other customers.
Karis feeling uncomfortable from Nao gaze without a word, he slid out of his seat, his movements swift and decisive. He tossed a few bills on the counter, his eyes avoiding Nao's as he paid for his drink.
"Keep the change," Karis said curtly, his voice low and even.
As the door swung shut, Nao's gaze dropped to the counter, his eyes tracing the path where Karis's hands had rested. He felt a pang of longing, wondering if he'd ever see him again.
