Chapter 19 - Every protagonist should have a little sister!

Bzzt! Bzzt! Bzzt!

In the underground research facility, a single figure was covered in electricity as if he had become lightning itself.

After Masa from the world of One Piece devoured one of the Mink Tribe, Masa from the world of Mahouka developed many abilities related to bio-electricity that were related to the improvement of physical ability.

Even though in the beginning, he might have appeared as a master of medicine or the human body due to his attainment of bio-electricity-related magic, he knew that he was just a beginner in this area. Instead, the only magic that he had developed that was related to the body before he got the ability to share everything with others was just electroreception, which allowed him to sense his surrounding environment by generating electric fields and detecting distortions, which worked like a radar, and also resistance magic, especially toward that mental, illusion, manipulation, and spy type of magics.

Yes, that's it, only those two types of magic that he could develop, especially ones that were related to the body.

Yet, this was normal since the body was sensitive and delicate; one mistake would lead him to his death, too.

While his computing ability was good due to his good brain, there was still a limit as he didn't have an innate ability that allowed him to see everything in a detailed matter like Tatsuya's "Elemental Sight," a sensory ability that allows Tatsuya to connect to the information dimension and identify everything down to every detail.

To be honest, part of him wished to just devour Tatsuya with the ability of a Jake Jake no Mi.

Yes, Masa knew that he was being cruel, but then again, in this world, he felt the necessity of power.

The conflict between normal humans and magicians was too much in this world.

On the one hand, humans felt threatened by the change of the status of a magician from a weapon or tool that was used in a war to becoming similar to or even better than them.

In another, the magicians expected a similar status or even a better status than those of a normal human since they had been working hard to protect everyone in this dangerous world.

The two parties never expected to be at peace, and the conflict kept clashing.

Frankly, there was no peaceful way to solve this problem, and Masa felt Tatsuya's original method to change the view of a magician as a tool or a weapon into something essential, such as helping an energy producer, was a weak method.

After all, no matter what, the role of a magician was a deterrent, a weapon, so if a magician's role became an energy producer, then the country would lack a power deterrent toward other countries, who focused all of their magicians to become the sharpest blade to kill their enemies.

If there was a way for someone to stop this conflict, then there were three methods that he could think of.

First, all the magicians should be erased so that everyone would be a normal human, and no conflict between a magician and a normal human would happen anymore. More importantly, as World War III passed, no great war happened once again, so the role of a magician as a weapon wasn't as important as before.

However, it was impossible for Masa to agree to this method since he was a magician and his family was also a magician, so even if it was bad for a normal human, he supported a magician to have the same or a better right than a normal human even if it was unfair in the eyes of that normal human.

Then, what about the second method?

The second method he thought of was to turn all the humans into magicians so that there wouldn't be any normal humans anymore.

Frankly, this was the best method since that way; there wouldn't be any conflicts as everyone had become a superhuman, a magician.

If there was a problem, it would be the fact that the world would be in chaos as everyone had gained a superpower, yet for him, it wasn't a problem since even if his family might be on the weaker side, it wasn't to the point of being so weak that a group of individual magicians, who had just awoken their power, could defeat them.

Instead, if everyone became a magician, then his family's status would rise, becoming one of the magician families with a high status in the world.

Naturally, while this method was great, it lacked realism since to turn all the humans into a magician, it needed a tremendous amount of energy, and Masa didn't have that energy.

So, all that was left was to turn to the third method, and that was to search for a Demon King-like existence.

Yes, when a huge problem existed, and no one could solve it, everyone would gather together to solve this conflict. It was like how all the countries in the Isekai story would help each other to support a hero to defeat the Demon King that ran amok within that Isekai world.

It was impossible for two countries, especially those that were close to each other, to be friendly all the time, and a conflict was bound to happen whether one wished or not, whether it was due to a resource, people, envy, and many others.

However, such a conflict could stop if there was an external problem that two countries had to solve together, or else the two would be destroyed.

Such a problem was the Demon King that Masa mentioned before, but in this world, who could become a Demon King?

A magician might be an exceptional creature, given the power to change reality itself, but even so, the number of those who were strong was limited. Most of the magicians didn't have enough power to fight, and those with limited power had their lives even worse than normal humans who lived in poverty.

The world of "Mahouka" might appear full of dreams, where everyone could become exceptional due to magic, yet the truth is this was a nihilistic world where the strong were feared, and the weak could only succumb.

The best way to live in this world was to become strong, but not so strong to cause fear.

Masa was able to become such an existence, but even so, he knew that it was far from enough, especially when he thought that conflict appeared in this world.

'War, war, war...'

Masa let out a helpless sigh, knowing that even if Tatsuya wasn't around, a war between countries would happen sooner or later. Even if he didn't want to, his family would be involved as they were a magician and a magician was expected to become a weapon to protect a country.

This fact... even if many decades had passed since World War III, it wouldn't have changed for a long time.

'Being strong, but not too strong...'

Then, did Masa feel regret being born as a magician?

No way.

Even if being a magician would force him to fight in the war, at least he could determine his fate instead of being a normal human who could only hope for the mercy of the strong.

That was why he couldn't stop improving and continued to grow stronger.

Naturally, he couldn't be the only one who became stronger, and his family had to become stronger, too, since he wasn't an omnipotent being who could protect everyone when they were in need.

Still, when he thought of training harder to become stronger, he heard a notification from outside that told him that someone had come to visit.

"Masa-niisama, are you here? It's time for dinner."

When that sweet, gentle voice was heard, Masa looked at the door of his practice room, which was opened by a cute girl who was looking at him shyly.

Yes, like Tatsuya, the protagonist of this world, Masa, from the world of Mahouka, also had a sweet little sister.
