Enzo and Zhu couldn't communicate with Carmilo or Yuri at this time. Their main focus was to dash for Zyortis and claim their flag. They haven't met any opposition on their way to the flag, until now.
Enzo and Zhu, alongside a few more students as backup came across the defending group of Zyortis. A blonde, possibly white-haired girl stood stoically in front of them, holding her staff tightly in hand.
"Hello, Luna. Enjoying the show over there?" Enzo readied his rifle.
"Not quite! My class split fifty-fifty. And we stood back as the others attacked. It's boring as hell!" Luna shouted.
"Well, now you got us to deal with." Enzo said.
"You're outnumbered Enzo! Like two to three ratio." Luna threatened, "You won't this!"
"It doesn't matter Luna! We're taking that flag one way or another!" Enzo aimed his rifle, pointing straight at Luna as lightning zapped through the cloth. The wind soon blows it away to reveal it's odd structure. The barrel glows a light blue as it charged up.
"Oh crap-!" Luna dove to the side, the rest following her movement as a bolt of lightning struck the platform behind them. Letting the flag drop to the ground as its base is destroyed.
"Charge! Get the flag!" Enzo shouted as Zhu and the others moved in. Holding their weapons and raw magic out to fight.
Luna and her class stood up quickly and retaliated against their attackers. Trading blows and magic as the area around them slowly crumbles in the crossfire. Luna charges Enzo, but Zhu interferes and throws one of her fans towards her.
She barely managed to block it with her staff as it flew right back at Zhu as she closed the gap between them. She jumped in the air and sent a kick at Luna's head.
Luna stepped back to avoid it, but Zhu didn't stop. Quickly sending out jabs and slices towards Luna. Luna managed to block most of it and fought back with her staff, while occasionally sending out a bolt of raw magic from ther staff. Each bolt of magic destroying a pillar or wall nearby.
Zhu kept up with the pressure. Her sleeves had ribbons on them which obstructed her movements to the enemy. Making it hard to read her. Luna slammed her staff on the ground where Zhu would be. As Zhu jumped back, Luna used the staff as a support to leap forwards and slam her feet on Zhu's chest.
"Argh-!" Zhu was sent to the ground, dropping her fans nearby.
"Gotchu! Acrobatic little-Gah!" Before Luna could strike, a bolt of electricity struck her on the back. Shocking her in place as she shook in her place. And paralyzing her temporarily.
Enzo appeared out of nowhere and kicked Luna's leg down, "Not happening Luna."
"Y-You..." Zhu moved her legs and locked them against Luna's head. And threw her to the ground next to her, "Agh...!"
"Sorry, Luna." Zhu stood up, "But we have to win this."
Looking around, to Luna's surprise, most of her classmates had been downed and put out of commission by the class of Nironius. She watched in hopelessness as Enzo grabbed the flag and pulled it out from the broken platform.
Enzo jumped down and tossed a bag of healing potions on the ground, "Drink it. You'll need it when you work under our class."
"Damn it..."
"Stay safe." Zhu said, "Alright let's move!"
The class ran away from the area. The first years can hear the disappointment and boo's of the second and third years of Zyortis on the stands. Angered at the fact that their team lost.
Luna couldn't help it. Horrible strategy, and didn't train correctly. They were unprepared. She could only watch as Nironius ran to their area. Ready to claim their flag and gain a point. They cheered as they ran through. Enzo waves the flag around as they approach their base.
"Nice work everyone!" Enzo cheered as he waved the flag of Zyortis, "We can win this! Just keep this up!"
Zhu patted Enzo on the back, "Nice save man. Her kick hurts."
"Ah, it's Luna. What do you expect? She's a good fighter. But I caught her off-guard. So I'm lucky." They finally arrived at their base. Carmilo awaited them next to their flag.
As soon as they spotted the celebrating group, the ones who stayed at the flag cheered as well. Joining them in celebration as well as the second and third years. For the first time in four years, Nironius looked like it had a chance at winning.
Carmilo couldn't help but smile in excitement as Enzo ran up to the platform, "I got it! Zyortis works under us now!"
"Then go place it!" Carmilo patted Enzo on the back, "It's your victory."
Everyone watched as Enzo stepped towards their flag. Looking down at the open place for their flag. He raised it upwards and slammed it down. A blue wave shoots out slowly as he claims the flag. It moved across the arena. Pausing every fight momentarily as they took a second to comprehend what happened.
The barrier around Zyortis area turned from a hue of yellow to blue. Signaling the conversion of the team. The crowd roared across the arena, as the announcer's voice appeared again, "Will you look at that everyone! Nironius had claimed the first flag! Zyortis is no more! That makes Nironius leading by one point! Amazing!"
"Ha! Nice work Enzo!" Carmilo can finally calm down slightly, "But we still need more. What's your next target?"
"Silkaneth." Enzo announced, "We're going to Silkaneth Everyone!"
"Then keep moving! Send any Zyortis students our way, we'll manage them here!" Carmilo ordered, "Move! Go! Go! Go!"
Enzo hopped down next to Zhu, as their group ran off again, heading to Silkaneth. Carmilo watched as they ran off, a single thought ran through his head, 'Can they win?'. Yes. there's a chance. They have a lead right now and they should use it to their advantage. Don't let up now. But right now, he worries for Yuri. Wondering how she's going.
In short, bad news. One of the stars of Haelfein's class had appeared, Gary Skorrson. His towering body intimidates everyone around him. They have heard of his incident. Fighting his own class with one of his friends. And managing to beat all of them. But surely he couldn't fight against all of them? Over a third of the students are in the middle. There's no way he can win.
"Huh. Your class got a point." Gary said.
"Yeah...We're winning." Yuri stood up straight.
Both Yuri and Nicola stared at Gary. Exchanging quick glances with each other on what to do. Should they work together? Or be an all-out brawl? Nicola nodded, hinting that maybe, they could form a temporary alliance to fight this beast.
Yuri nodded as well at Nicola, not noticing the shadow that towered over her, "What are you nodding at huh?"
Yuri's eyes widened as Gary suddenly closed the three-meter gap between them in under a second, "Damn-!" She swiped her axe towards him. But he simply held the blade in his hands.
Gary chuckled slightly before suddenly slamming his fist on her jaw. Blowing her and everyone around her away towards a wall. Most of the crowd had witnessed it and cringed at the same time. Ooo's filled the air as Yuri crashed against the wall.
"My god-Yuri!" Nicola couldn't help but call out to her, they may be rivals, but they're still friends.
Most of the students in the middle paused temporarily. Wondering about what just happened. A group of Silkaneth students were about to retreat, but a shadow overcame them. Looking up a boulder flew across the sky towards their direction.
They scattered away in the nick of time as it crashed near them. That seemed to wake up everyone as loud footsteps rumbled. Nicola saw Gary charging towards her, she could see the bloodlust on his face, "Stay back!"
Nicola threw her dagger towards him. And the students behind her shot out raw magic or their throwable weapons. To everyone's shock, Gary tanked the magic shots and weapons. Even catching Nicola's dagger in his teeth. And crushing it in his mouth.
"What the-!"
Gary closed the gap in the next second, twenty meters covered in two seconds. He raised his warhammer up and slammed it on the ground they students once were.
When they jumped back, Gary kept on moving forward. Pummeling his fist on two students separately and sending them away, while grabbing another two in both hands and slamming their heads together.
Nicola was weaponless against this raging demon. She tried to shoot out any form of raw magic but Gary clasped his hand around hers, and preventing any movement. He turned around and threw Nicola over himself and away. Her body crashed against the students of Grinshar as they tried to fight Firbol.
He charged forward blindly. Swinging his hammer and fist around and hitting any students that unfortunately came his way. His rampage seemed to gather the attention of the spectators. And even some of the teachers.
"My god...Who is that boy?" Ms Scott's eyes were glued to his rampage. It went to the point where Nironius, Arlecant, and Grinshar decided to team up against Gary.
"Gary Skorrson." Mister Kiro answered, "He's my student."
"Do you even manage him?" The teacher of Silkaneth asked, "He's gonna kill someone!"
"He won't." headmaster Avshino answered.
"How could you be so sure of that?"
"I know he won't. I told him not to." Headmaster Avshino brushed his beard lightly, "Though, I never seen this side of him..."
Gary continued his rampage on the students, gathering the attention of many. The less trained students were pushed away by him, while the unfortunate people in his straight path were grabbed by Gary, and either slammed on the ground or thrown away. His ears had gone deaf, ignoring what the announcer just said. It's probably something unimportant.
A few students attempted to shoot raw magic at his direction, but he raised his foot and slammed it on the ground, breaking off a piece of the ground and blocking all of the magic. After the initial magic blast, he came crashing through it and raised his hammer towards the students.
"Oh shit-!"
Before he could slam his hammer down, a boy jumped infront of him, holding out his weapon. He managed to catch Gary's hammer, but the force pushed him onto the ground, "Damn-!"
"Who are you?" Black markings started to crawl around his skin. His blessing is in action.
"Call me prince..." The african boy said, He bore a spear and shield in hands, donning harem pants only. He decided to not wear a shirt to revel in his body's shape and tone. And to top it all of, he has dreadlocks with metal garments on it to keep it still.
The announcers voice boomed across the arena again, "What is this?! The rest of Haelfein is joining the tournament! After their ban, it appears that it had been lifted! Look at them go!"
"Oh. Donovan let them participate huh...?"
"Donovan? Isn't that your friend?"
"That it is...Think fast-!" Gary grabbed the shield and threw it away. Before raising his hammer up.
Just before Prince attained brain damage, three bolts of magic stopped him from doing anything. Gary stumbled back slightly as Prince ushered his classmates away.
Gary stood in the middle of the whole arena as Yuri and Nicola appeared into view. Standing next to Prince. Before Gary can attack them, A boy with the outfit of the recently claimed Zyortis jumps in and slashes at Gary with his longsword. Leaving a mark on Gary's chest.
"Oh...? You cut me." Gary chuckled.
"That I did." The boy wiped his blade.
Next to him, another girl ran to his side. A girl from Grinshar held a grimoire in her hands, and Gary recognized the magic as phoenix fire. The same magic that struck him before he could hit Prince. This one has a magic path, huh? "Interesting..."
Soon, he's surrounded by six different people. The sixth was from Firbol, she came in late but held up her gauntlets as weapons. Gary realized that each of these six people was from every other class that existed. They really sent one of their members to team up with their enemy to defeat him? Now this is fun.
"Before we fight. May I ask your names?" Gary swiped his finger over his wound, seemingly healing it in an instant.
The boy who cut him couldn't believe his regeneration power. He had never seen it before. In addition to that, he didn't sense any traces of healing magic, "I'm Arthur Silbrook..."
"You?" Gary points to the gauntlet women.
"Anna Becker."
"What about the phoenix fire girl?" Gary crossed his arms.
"Mary Sachel..."
Everyone else stayed away from the ring. But some still fought each other, after all, the tournament was still going on, Gary could see some of the Haelfein students join the fight. "Well. I'm sure you know me."
A golden wave flew across the arena. As the crowd roared yet again. The seven took a second to comprehend what happened. The familiar voice of the announcer echoed across the arena, "Will you look at that! Silkaneth had been claimed by Arlecant! The lead is tied with Arlecant eyeing Nironius hungrily! Who would win this tournament? Oh, I can't wait!"
"Damn it-!" Prince hissed.
"Sorry," Nicola responded.
"Eyes on me," Gary said.
He twirled his hammer around, spinning around slowly as he eyed everyone. Even though it's six to one. For a tank like him, the six felt a similar unease. He's not natural. The black branch-like marking had overtaken most of his body. Resembling dark mountain peaks or lightning strike scars.
Hundreds of eyes gazed upon the seven. A heavy tension settled in the air as Gary stared at everyone. Out of the blue, a dark aura rummaged through the arena. A white and purple wide beam burst from the ground and into the sky.
"What is that...?" Yuri muttered.
"That's a second release." Gary answered. Even under the loud noises, "Someone with a magic path here really wants to kill someone..."
And that someone. Is Lucas Heinfield. His target? Samuel Silva.
