Chapter 54 - Chapter 53

Yuta tried to use his arms to get up from the ground when the lightning rain stopped, but one of his arms was completely destroyed and one was useless as it was almost severed. Taking a deep breath, he activated the reverse curse technique with all his might while using his head as support to get off the ground.

As Yuta coughed up a large amount of blood, he finally managed to get up on his one remaining leg and took advantage of the fact that the place was still smoky to buy time and pulled himself into the shadows.

...

Frieren watched as dozens of lightning bolts the thickness of a human body brutally destroyed Yuta and stopped the spell when she felt the traces of his presence disappear.

Looking back to where Yuta had been, all that was left was a shattered floor.

Frieren turned around and checked how Fern was doing.

Fern, meanwhile, had forgotten to be scared and was looking with small admiring eyes at the spell cast by the woman whose legs she had just hugged.

Frieren waved her staff and all the rocks in the area where Yuta had just been bombed started to explode. Huge chunks of the ground, each piece weighing tens of tons, quickly coalesced behind Frieren and became a huge rock golem.

After removing the rocks, Frieren looked back at the area he had just been in and saw blood and bits of flesh on the ground.

"I'm not that easy to defeat! Frieren!"

Just then, Yuta came out of the shadow under the giant golem's arm and quickly jumped towards Frieren.

The giant golem waved its arm at Yuta as if it had expected this, but after a short distance, the arm was cut off and fell to the ground.

By the time Frieren turned around, Yuta was already on top of the shield and, without giving Frieren a chance to cast another spell, Yuta began to use his slash technique on the shield with all his might. The direct contact slash was much more powerful than the slash from a distance, and it was putting a huge strain on the shield every second.

While Frieren focused on keeping the shield intact, Yuta was trying to destroy it. Frieren could see Yuta's slashing technique with a special spell, but Fern didn't notice anything at the moment. All she could see was Yuta sitting on the shield around them, both hands on the shield.

When Fern looked carefully at Yuta, illuminated by the light of the shield, she saw that his body was covered with horrible black veins and even his eyes were completely black. Yuta didn't really look human in this state and the terrible calmness of his face made him look even more terrifying.

Yuta had just felt such a strong fear of death that his bloodline instantly woke up and swallowed the fear of death, one of the purest forms of fear, giving Yuta great strength. Yuta could feel a tremendous increase in his physical attributes now, and relying on this, he decided to stop trying to deal with Frieren and actually try to defeat her.

There were things Yuta didn't realize. It was only the speed statistic that had improved, not all of his stats like before. After Yuta's fear of death was absorbed by the darkness, his speed stat almost tripled.

After struggling for a while, Yuta realized that the shield was not shattering, but rather becoming more illuminated. Thinking of a fight scene of Frieren, he realized what had happened and his eyes widened.

Frieren, meanwhile, felt that her shield had reached the limit of the energy it could absorb and projected thousands of slashes that had long been absorbed by her shield. To Frieren's surprise, Yuta suddenly retreated with such speed that he appeared to have disappeared.

Yuta did not stop after he quickly retreated and landed on the ground because the thousands of slashes flying toward him covered his entire field of vision. As the slashes were about to hit Yuta, the world in Yuta's eyes slowed down and Yuta began to maneuver quickly, using the gaps he detected between the slashes.

Frieren frowned as he looked at Yuta and began to analyze him again, his eyes shining. The result of his analysis had changed. The data from the analysis spell told him that Yuta was a fast monster. Frieren sighed and decided to end this pointless battle while looking at Yuta.

In the next seconds, Frieren had the absolute upper hand. Even though Yuta had the speed to push Frieren, Frieren went out and landed on the ground first, leaving Fern in the shield. Frieren then started bombarding Yuta using mana attacks.

Yuta was able to rely on his high speed for a while to dodge the mana attacks as they shattered into dozens of pieces in the air and flew toward him, but the millennial mage's battle experience finally showed itself and Yuta stepped into a trap set by Frieren before the battle began.

A large magic circle suddenly appeared beneath Yuta's feet and he tried to break free from the green thorny tendrils wrapped around his body, but no matter how hard he tried, he could not escape the trap, and the magic circle seemed to be suppressing all the energies in his body.

Yuta tried to use his spiritual power and chakra to make sure, but just like his cursed energy, these energies were useless.

Frieren watched the boy bleed as he tried to force his way out of the thorns and was sure he had the situation under control. "If you move any further you will bleed to death. After all, you can't heal yourself in that magic, can you?"

Yuta exhaled deeply when he heard the Frieren voices and stopped moving. After all, the woman in front of him was the one who had defeated the great demon king. Yuta consoled himself that his opponent was much stronger than him and waited for Frieren to kill him, but Frieren ignored him and took Fern down first.

Fern grabbed Frieren's skirt as soon as the shield disappeared because it was dark. Frieren created a small ball of flying light and told Fern to wait here and came to the bound Yuta. Frieren didn't think it was right for a small child to see Yuta covered in blood.
