Chapter 20 - Mutant goat curse

As Yuta looked at the dark stairs opening up in front of him, he realized that he would have to descend nearly a hundred steps again, and he stared at the shadows emerging from beneath his feet.

A small shadow continued to move at high speed up the dark stairs for a while, then stopped in its tracks and quickly turned back down a few tens of stairs.

When Yuta was in the shadows, the countdown was over, but again, like the first time, his opponent's information did not appear. Yuta wondered for a moment if this was some kind of system error or if he had once again encountered an opponent whose only ability was to pretend to be human, but then he turned around and noticed a system screen left on the stairs.

"Come on. Was it like this the first time too? Really..."

[ Draw result: Mutant goat curse ]

[ A curse born of the human fear of mutant goats. It has low speed, but it can bite people. Probably... In the system's opinion, it could be a very useful ox for plowing fields. ]

[ Weaknesses: Cursed energy ]

As soon as Yuta felt the cursed energy again, he was filled with fear, and knowing that he had an opponent who would give up, he went to the end of the stairs and fell into the center of the arena.

After searching for a while for his opponent's whereabouts, Yuta heard the sound of hoofbeats approaching from behind him but decided to pretend he didn't hear them. The speed at which the hoofbeats approached was so slow that for a moment he thought he would fall asleep.

Meanwhile, a strange smile appeared on the face of the purple-faced pink goat that approached him from behind Yuta. It wasn't a smart enough curse to talk, but at least it could think.

Every second the goat came closer to hitting Yuta, it squinted its two overlapping eyes and grinned as if it could smell freedom. He was going to blow this stupid brat up with one blow, and whoever was transmitting the information in his head would set him free.

As the goat was about to hit Yuta, he was so convinced that he was going to eat all the people in the world where these sorcerers didn't exist that he made a strange sound out of his mouth, which caused Yuta to jump and pass underneath the goat as it was about to hit Yuta.

The goat cursed himself, thinking that the boy had heard him because he had laughed in error, but he thought that everything was just beginning, in the meantime a searing pain began to radiate from his back.

Yuta, oblivious to the goat's thoughts, jumped into the air to dodge him and then used his slash ability to slash him across the back.

Yuta felt that his slash ability would be enough to kill this goat, but when the slash hit the goat's back, he discovered that the goat's defenses were not low at all.

After running some distance away from Yuta, the goat finally managed to maneuver and turned back towards Yuta.

At first, Yuta looked at the gaping wound on the goat's back, but the next moment his attention was caught by the goat's tongue sticking out of his mouth, spitting saliva all over the place, and the strange smile on the goat's face.

Yuta, not wanting to see any more of the goat's disgusting expression, started to run and before the goat could react, he was beside it and put his hand into its pink fur. Three slashes followed, all in the same spot, splitting the goat in two and spilling its entrails out.

Yuta, fortunately, didn't have to face the stench that hit his nose for too long and was thrown out of the arena.

Yuta checked the shadows to bring out the strange goat he was fighting and was confronted by a big goat about a meter and a half long.

As soon as the goat saw Yuta, it jumped up and started jumping around him and showing him affection.

"Oi oi oi have some personality, you were trying to kill me until just now"

Yuta locked his hands together and left his left ring finger open to take the mutant goat that was trying to lick his face into the ten shadow techniques. From now on, the mutant goat would be monster number three in the Shadow technique as his living shield.

________________ (W.N. The pink stingray and the mutant goat are normally summoned monsters belonging to Suguru Geto)

After thinking for a while, Yuta decided that these three monsters would be enough to show that he had a special bloodline for summoning monsters tomorrow and lifted the curtain.

After Yuta lifted the curtain, he looked out into the darkness of the forest, mumbled something about how good he felt, and started running home. As if he were a child with too much energy, he jumped straight down when the Hokage was level with their heads. His instincts told him that because he had a small body, the maximum fall speed he could reach would not kill him when he hit the ground.

Yuta had no idea what the Anbu ninja was thinking as he jumped from the top of the mountain and fell with his arms outstretched, looking up at the sky.

After doing his file work late into the night, Sarutobi had the Hokage instinct to spend a few minutes monitoring the security of the village using the telescope technique. It was quite rare for Sarutobi to use his telescope technique to do something so useful, and Yuta was so unlucky that even though he had set out at night to avoid being seen, the scene of him emerging from the shadows in the middle of the forest was seen by the Hokage.

The moment Sarutobi Hiruzen saw Yuta, he immediately knew who he was. This was the boy that Hatake Sakumo had brought back from the battlefield to improve Tsunade's mood. Or so Sakumo had told him. Hiruzen was glad to see that Tsunade had recovered and had recently started eating healthier and going to the gambling hall again.
