The headline stares back at me from my phone screen, mocking me: Heiress Riley King Engaged to Business Mogul Damien Frost. There's a photo of her too, smiling, her eyes bright as she clutches his arm, that goddamn ring glinting on her finger.
Rage flares up in my chest, raw and unrestrained. How did this happen? Riley was supposed to be mine—she's always been mine, whether she realizes it or not.
Bianca hovers nearby, her expression a careful mask of sympathy as she studies me. "Callum," she starts, her voice low and soothing. "It's just a headline. You know how these things go."
I grit my teeth, barely holding back a snarl. "You think this is just a headline, Bianca? She's parading around with Frost like he owns her!"
She crosses her arms, trying to keep her tone even. "Maybe she's doing it for attention, trying to get under your skin. You know Riley—she's dramatic like that."
