Riley
I take a steadying breath as I stand outside the boardroom, the familiar ache of anxiety gnawing at my nerves. It's been six weeks, but now the time has finally come.
Today's the day. Today I take back what's mine, what Callum so casually stole from my family. I can feel the tension settling in my shoulders, the weight of what's about to happen bearing down on me.
But then I feel Damien's hand on my lower back, his warmth grounding me, his presence a silent promise that I'm not alone in this.
"You're ready for this, Malyshka," he murmurs, his voice low and steady, the confidence in his tone like an anchor. "He's not expecting you to come in and take back what's yours. He's gotten too comfortable, and that's his mistake."
I nod, meeting his gaze. "I've wanted this for so long, Damien. To finally put him in his place… I just didn't think I'd have the strength to actually do it."
