As Ashley turned her head. She noticed Brian leaning in, staring intently at her.
Brian was taken aback. The exposed upper half of Ashley's face was stunning, her eyes were incredibly beautiful, and her forehead was so fair and smooth that he couldn't help help but feel drawn to her. He felt his heart skip a beat.
Ashley took a step back and raysed her hand to touch her face.
"What are you doing? Is there something on my face?"
Even her fingers were so pretty, Brian thought, almost entranced. His gaze drifted downward, noticing Ashley's elegant swan-like neck, slightly tilted, glowing in the sunlight.
Brian flashed a bright smile.
"Sis, everyone say you are ugly. Can you take off your mask and let me see what you really look like?"
He couldn't explain it, but he found himself inexplicably attracted to her.
Why is he coming closer again? Ashley's delicate brows furrowed. Her body was already pressed against the railings, leaving her with no room to retreat.
She glanced at the approaching Brian and narrowed her watery eyes. "Don't come any closer. But, do you really want to see?"
Brian obediently stopped, his face full of anticipation.
"Yes, I want to see."
"Alright then, I'll show you."
Moved by Brian's eager expression, Ashley indeed raised her hand, ready to remove her mask.
Richard glared at the scene, his eyes practically shooting flames, and the corner of his eye twitched.
"Boss, the young lady really doesn't understand the dangers if the society. Should I stop in and stop her?" Nelson asked.
Richard remained unmoved nh Nelson's word. At the moment, his feelings were incredibly complicated.
Ashley was about to reveal her face from behind the mask, and strangely enough, alongside his anger, there was a twinge of bitterness. Thgs woman was about to show her face in front of others.
Ashley blinked and reached for the string by her ear.
"Don't blink, I'll only show you once. If you miss it, don't blame me."
Brian's heart raced. "Okay"
Just as she was about to unveil, two voices rang out simultaneously.
"What are you doing?" An angry voice suddenly erupted as Richard stood before them."
"If you want to see me embarrassed, that's not happening." Ashley let go of the mask's string and flicked Brian on the forehead.
Both Ashley and Brian was stunned. Why was Richard here? Had he heard everything they just said?
"Bro, what are you doing here?" Brain asked awkwardly.
"Aren't you supposed to be at the hospital with two to see grandma? And here you are, wandering around?"
Richard glanced at his watch, thoug his words were directed at Brian, his gaze was fixed on Ashley.
"Oh nor, I'm late Grandma's going to be furious. See you next time sister in law, I gotta go."
Brain face turned pale. Grandma had always being strict for punctuality. Whatever the task, it had to be done on time. Being even a minute late meant at least an hour of lecturing enough to make anyone's ears grow calluses.
Brian fled in a hurry Ashley opens her mouth to speak. Is Grandma really that scary? Her cheeks flushed as she turned her head. Richard was glaring at her coldly. She pouted, took out her phone and dialed a number.
"Ella, are you her yet? You are? Then hurry over here."
Just has she hung up, Ella stepped out of a taxi and ran over, noticing her Young Master was also present. Ella grew nervous.
"Y.. Young Master, Young Mistress."
"Ella, let's go." Ashley grabbed Ella's arm, ready to leave.".
Feeling ignored, Richard was furious. He grabbed Ashley's arm, his voice so cold it sent shivers down her spine. "Where are you going?"
Ashley stopped in her tracks and turned around, their eyes met, and the air between them grew cold with tension.
"Madam…. I'll wait for you over there," Ella said, unable to hold back any longer, and retreated to a distance.
Ashley pressed her lips together. "Ella and I are going to the clothing store to buy some clothes. What, did you stop me because you want to join us?"
Richard looked Ashley up and down, hesitated for a moment, and then blurted out, "what clothes? Who are you buying them for?"
"Hmph, I'm buying then for everyone to see. Oh, and by the way, I'm attending Grandma's birthday party. Let go of me, I need to buy something to wear to the event."
"No, you're not going. You might not be embarrassed, but I am. No matter how nice the clothes are, they won't hide the scar on your face. A pretty dress on an ugly woman is still a joke."
Every word seemed to emphasize how ugly she was. Ashley grew increasingly irritated.
"Aren't you tired of this? All you ever talk about is how ugly I am. You're so shallow, only caring about appearances. Forget it, talking to someone like you is a waste of time. Just wait untill I buy a beautiful dress and make you proud."
Ashley turned and walked away, leaving behind a faint trail of her perfume.
"Ashley," Richard called out.
Richard watched in disbelief as tfe woman slipped right out of his grasp. He shouted after her, but Ashley, pulling Ella along, ran off swiftly.
Meanwhile, Nelson, who had witnessed his boss's misfortune, struggled to suppress his laughter. Unfortunately for him, the boss had already noticed his barely contained amusement.
"Get back to the office!"
"Yes, sir."
Nelson felt a bit embarrassed, but he couldn't help thinking that the young lady was quite interesting.
