Igris summoned his sword and ran toward Clara, while Chikara sat cross-legged on the floor, reading a scroll and chanting a spell.
Only the monks were allowed to read the scrolls and obtain their power, for only they were deemed worthy. As Igris charged at Clara, his sword pointed menacingly at her, she shouted, "You fool! What do you think you're doing? I have obtained the abilities of a shadow scroll. You are no match for me!""Snap out of it, woman!" Igris shouted, desperation lacing his voice as he moved closer. In response, Clara called upon the power of the clouds, drawing lightning from the sky.
A bolt struck towards Igris. He dodged the lightning and redirected it back at her, but with her immense strength, Clara thrust her palm forward. The lightning bolt struck her arm, yet she felt no pain."Guess we'll have to do this the hard way." Igris muttered to himself.Igris bent low, hissing through clenched teeth, and held his sword in a traditional stance. "Winds of destiny, gate open!" He commanded.
The wind howled fiercely, sending leaves swirling into the air, thickening it around him as if he were drawing energy from the atmosphere. In the blink of an eye, he vanished. Clara's heart raced.
She searched frantically, glancing side to side and looking front and back, but he was nowhere to be seen. Finally, she glanced up at the sky. There he was, suspended in the air, maintaining his battle stance. His piercing blue eyes shone like bright torches as he drew his sword from its sheath and descended toward her.
In a swift motion, he sliced through her, scattering her body into forty pieces. As he landed, he glanced over his shoulder at the dismembered remnants."I actually trusted her. Would've been a nice prize." He said nonchalantly as he walked back to Chikara."You can stop casting the enchantment; she's dead." he added dismissively."One must not assume their foe is defeated just because the fight seems over." Chikara replied calmly, extending his fingers forward. To his astonishment, Clara's body parts began to move silently, reassembling into her original form. She transformed one of her arms into a black metal cannon and fired a wide spear through Igris's chest at tremendous speed. The spear pierced through him, hurtling toward Chikara, who extended his fingers once more, causing it to disintegrate mid-air."Seriously? You're the chosen one?" Chikara said, his tone dripping with sarcasm.Igris glanced back, noticing Clara charging energy, preparing for a massive blast."How long is that spell going to take?" He asked, anxiety creeping into his voice."A few minutes." Chikara replied."Good." Igris said, tightening his grip on his sword. "I need to end this fast; the electric spikes coming from her could destroy the sacred lands."He closed his eyes, focusing, and released a deep breath that escaped him like steam.
"Embers of fury, fly within me." He called as he leaped into the sky. When he opened his eyes again, Clara realized she no longer faced the same Igris. His demeanor had shifted; rage radiated from him. He lunged at her, sword drawn. Clara morphed her arm into a sword as well, and their blades clashed with a resounding ring.Surprised by his speed, Clara struggled to keep up. Igris's movements were faster than before; she had expected to be on par with him after her regeneration, but he was far beyond her. Each attack came quicker than the last, and she found herself barely holding on.A
mysterious voice echoed above Igris's head:[Ember of Fury: 70% used. Ability will soon close.]Igris scoffed, tossing his sword high into the air and sweeping Clara off her feet. He leaped skyward, twirling his sword behind his back before raising it again, shouting as he descended toward her.[Ember of Fury: 95% used.]Chikara chuckled, eyes closed, his voice steady. "Clever child."With a fierce thrust, Igris landed on Clara, driving his sword deep into her chest. "Now!" He commanded.
Chikara raised his arm, chanting, "Acturey bilharzia jiudhj!"A portal erupted, swallowing Clara and sealing shut behind her."Wait? That's it? Why did it take you so long to do that?" Igris asked, frustration bubbling up."Oh, I was done before she regenerated; I just wanted to see how you planned to kill her." Chikara replied nonchalantly."Wait, where are the villagers and the monks?" Chikara suddenly realized, panic rising in his chest.
He rushed to the village vault, checking every compartment. When he emerged, despair etched on his face. "They took all the scrolls and the villagers. We had another intruder."Chikara fell to his knees, tears streaming down his face as memories of his wife, children, and loved ones flooded his mind. He wept, consumed by grief.Igris, preparing to leave the scene, shrugged. "Well, that's not my problem. Hope you find them or whatever."Suddenly, a bright red light opened in the sky, and a voice boomed [Igris Drakon the Fifth, the Elder Gods have summoned thee.]
