As everyone was too shocked to act, Emily knew what was going to happen in the next second. And she wanted no part in it. So before everyone could gather their wits, she reached out for her Concept.
It was like trying to see with no eyes or trying to touch something with no hands. It was incredibly difficult. And it didn't help that her Lunar energy was being drained so fast, you would think she was fighting against a powerful person and pulling all the stops just to survive.
Though she was getting nowhere reaching out for her Concept, there was a thick layer of a powerful gravitational force field, that pulled small debris around her.
That's when she came up with an idea, she might not be able to utilize her Concept, not even one percent of it. But she can use it to manifest a surge of bloodlust.
She closed her eyes and reaches deep to the memory, she likes to suppress. Of her little sister, just seeing her face left her feeling both helpless and with a deep seated hatred that transformed itself into killing intent.
That emotion of wanting nothing more than death for everything that harmed her, became a semi-solid form that got the attention of the human group. The four left turned to Emily, and trembled with fear. Two of the group unintentionally let go of their bladder.
"Fenrir come here!" She commanded and even Fenrir was slightly fearful of her. Her voice was overlayed with multiple sounds that made it seemed a hundred people were speaking at the same time.
In the eyes of the human group, looking at Emily was as if time had stopped, nothing moved, not even the thick aura cloaking her in crimson shadows.
Her hair had fully turned red, and so was her golden eye. In this state Emily felt the corruption of the red moon so intimately, she felt like just.. killing everyone in here. But she wouldn't do that not in her sister's memory, not anymore.
[Ding~ ding~ ding~ Congratulation host, you have awakened a Sixth Symbiote, Title: Eldritch Aura, but it's still in its initial form, so not fully awaken until host realises it's true potential.]
Emily walked forward, slowly, as if on a picnic walk. When she was close enough for her crimson aura to make all of the groups knees to become weak and fall on their knees, she stared down at them.
"Look, I think we could all agree that the fat guy was a problem with no forethought, right?"
Emily raised an eyebrow waiting for a reply, and the leader swallowed a lump and gathered his bearing. He forced himself to stand, but not too tall, seemingly aware of his position in this matter. Especially with the fact Emily was clearly being malicious towards him, but his intent didn't work.
"We understand, but did your friend really need to kill him?" He showed indignation for his friend's death, even though at this moment he wanted to fall on his knees again and beg Emily to not kill him. So that he could live on.
"No, not really."
"Then.."
"But if your friend had not insulted me, and let had let you, the leader do the talking. We wouldn't be in this position in the first place, isn't that right?"
The leader opened his mouth, but then clamped it shut. There were countless moral reason he could use to show how wrong what Fenrir did, but he then remembered one simple truth, it was the apocalypse, everyone was bat shut crazy. And only the strong were ever right.
"We apologize for our friend's insult, though I believe he didn't deserve death. There's nothing we can do about it now."
Emily felt her Lunar energy burning out, so she stopped using her recent awakened Symbiote. And all the group sighed with relief.
"Now tell me, what was the fat guy's problem?"
The other one in the group who hadn't pissed herself got up with shaky legs. And approached her leader and stood beside him. With a defiant look, she replied, "one of the girl's was his girlfriend. Now tell us what happened to our friends?"
"Isn't that obvious, they are dead."
The two still on the ground instantly paled in horror and fear. Same with the two facing Emily, although the girl clenched her hands, as if ready to throw hands. While the leader, looked resigned to everything.
Emily narrowed her eyes at them, "wait a minute do you guys think I killed them?"
All of them stared at her in shock, "you didn't?" Asked the leader.
"Of course not. You'll find two dead if keep heading the direction, we just came from. But be warned the thing that killed them might just still be there."
She then grabbed Fenrir and went past them, as they walked the leader called after them.
"Wait!" They stopped to face him. "You're leaving, just like that?"
"Gee, I don't know whatever your name is, but if you would like for us to stay. We would be more than welcome," Emily replied with an amused grin.
The leader hesitated at first, he looked at his group and each nodded in agreement. He stepped forward and outstretched his hand at Emily, "my name Phil Jackson, from the Survivors Settlement, nice to meet you."
Emily took Phil's hand and shook it, careful not to shatter his hand, she still wasn't used to her strength yet, "my name is Emily Wolff, just a Wanderer, from nowhere, nice to meet you too."
After that everyone made their introduction, and they journeyed together. Even though the death of their friend was still fresh on their minds, they were survivors. And nothing would stop them from adapting to any given situation dire or otherwise.
After being integrated into their group Emily learned a bit about them, especially Phil their fearless leader. And the defiant girl Heidi. And she was impressed.
Traveling with the group Emily learned about their levels after appraisal, their mission after talking to Heidi. And how how they came to be separated.
They were on a trip to find a silver-Eyed werewolf that possesses a moon heart, capable of curing any diseases including cancer. But it wasn't the reason they were hunting it, they omitted the details, but Emily made an educated guess, it must've held power to make people strong or something like that.
Human greed knows no bounds when it comes to power, and Emily was sure as the apocalypse nobody would risk their lives just to save a single life like they all claimed.
They said the silver-Eyed was both cunning and swift, as hunting it hasn't been easy. Especially since they kept losing people. They were initially a group of ten, now reduced to measly four, talk about bad luck.
'The past me, would've given up a long time ago, but this idiots with no power to backup their greed still keep going, what's wrong with them?'
When they got to the place where they found the two dead girls, scavenger red-eyed werewolves were feasting on them. The group went pale when they heard the crunching of their friends bones.
Heidi was the first to gather her bearing, she cried out, what sounded to her like her own version of a war cry. And a midnight werewolf shot out of her shadow, and killed the scavengers in the most savage way possible.
Whilst Emily was fangirling, "That's so cool." And Fenrir who had been quiet all this time was sulking behind her master with visible jealousy.
