When outside the apartment building, Emily finally let go of Haley's hand. And looked at her, "are you okay?" She asked. But Haley barely heard her.
Emily moved her hand under her chin, and lifted her head. Haley was forced to look into Emily's cold eyes. Her fearful habit always made her shrink back, but this time, she stood her ground.
Seeing the slight defiance in the girl, Emily gave a shadow of a smile.
"I'm glad you haven't fallen into despair. I see a fire in you, and it would be unfortunate to see it completely dim."
Haley didn't reply and stared at her hand, "I'm going to kill her," she muttered to herself.
"Vixie is merely the disease of the red moon, not the source," Emily told her.
Haley lifted her head to look up at Emily, her eyes alight with confusion. And then a thought, "you mean.."
Emily nodded, "exactly, Vixie is merely a werewolf. Her cruelty towards your friends is simply her nature. Something forced upon her by the red moon, not something she chose."
Haley suspiciously scrutinized her, searching for any hint of lies in Emily's words. But although Emily had ulterior motive for telling Haley any of this, she wasn't lying.
And Haley also came to that same conclusion, when she realised killing werewolves won't be near as satisfying as killing the cause of all this destructive surrounding them. The mayhem that ensued, that turned millions and killed millions.
She looked up at the red moon, and clenched her fist. And solemnly promised to do everything in her power, to destroy that thing.
Emily could see a powerful desire reflected in Haley's eyes, and smiled. That's what she had been after. She had thought she would have to do some silver tongue to lead Haley to a clear purpose—her purpose. But thanks to Vixie, it was unnecessary, she gave Haley the push, she's been needing.
Now it was time to test that drive. She took Haley's hand in hers, and dragged her towards the apartment building reeking of blood. When they got there, the apartment building was as gloomy as they had passed it.
Looking at this place, Haley only saw an ordinary abandoned building. But Emily saw, heard, felt despair, sorrow and agony. This place reeked of debauchery, and sick twisted pleasure for pain on the weak.
Even Emily didn't like this place. But she was just too curious, and she'll just have to make certain she doesn't end up like the dead cat.
Pulling Haley inside, they ended up in the lobby. Immediately warning bells rang through Haley's mind. They had to get out of here, now! That was the only thought in her mind.
She tried to pry herself from Emily's grip, but it would not budge. She pleadingly looked up at Emily, but she only gave her a reassuring smile. If it was not for the fact it didn't reach her eyes, it might have been convincing.
"Emily let go of me, we have to get away from this place."
Emily ignored her, and started moving towards the stairs. Haley reached out to the connection with her werewolf, and it came waltzing inside, with a deep growl.
But the moment it's nose picked up on the scent permeating in this place. The only thing keeping it from running away was because it couldn't, not without Haley's orders.
It prowled towards Emily, whimpering, but trying to be brave enough to save it's master. But before it got any closer to Emily, she turned around and glared at it, and a terrifying aura that spread all throughout the building leaked out of Emily.
And the werewolf, this time, without any hesitation ran out of the apartment. Haley had not a mind to be shocked, of her werewolf's actions, because Emily's aura was pressing down on her. And she felt herself slowly losing consciousness, because she had forgotten how to breathe.
When Emily noticed this, she contained back her bloodlust aura. And Haley could finally breath.
When Haley's shallow breathing became sturdy, a deep mixture between a howl and a gutteral growl reverberated throughout the walls of the apartment building. And bloodlust of a werewolf seeped through the walls, sticky and suffocating.
This bloodlust was different from that of Emily, as hers exerted authority over the person it's directed upon. This bloodlust seeped into the skin, and those it's directed at felt nothing but revulsion and suffocating fear.
Emily let go of Haley, as she saw her pale skin turning green. And the moment she let go, Haley threw up at the side. The werewolfs bloodlust was sickening, she couldn't handle it.
Emily coldly looked up the lobby ceiling, then back at Haley. She directed her bloodlust coated in Lunar energy to protect Haley from the werewolf's bloodlust like a cloak. And Haley once again was able to breathe.
She wiped her mouth, with the back of her hand. Emily expected her to run away, now that she let her go. But Haley was angry instead of frightened, but also tired. She was tired of being weak, treated like a cannon fodder by the world.
Before the apocalypse she was bullied for being her shy self. And it took away every bit of her self-esteem and left her with fear of everything else. Her parents the only people who ever cared about her were literally ripped apart in front of her.
Jenny was leaving her behind in persuit of power. Vixie killed Sasha—she is Sasha, the only other person she thought was on her side in this godforsaken world.
Her werewolf abandoned her when she needed it. Emily was doing whatever she pleased at her expanse. And now this werewolf was seeping it's disgusting intentions into her very bones. And she was powerless to do anything about any of this things.
But even so she had a choice, she could either continue to run away and hide. Or fight back, even at cost of her measly life? And she chooses the latter. She will fight even if it doesn't make a difference, at least then, she will feel less shitty about herself.
[Ding~ ding~ ding~ An indomitable Will has awakened within the host. Your rage is felt by the Golden Moon. And it greatly sympathises with your weakness to never make a difference despite greatly wanting.
The Golden Moon would like to gift you a Curse, a Curse that will give you great deal of strength, but in return it will leave you with madness in its wake. Would you like to accept, such a Curse?]
[Yes] {Or} [No]
When the offer came Haley's instincts told her not to accept. But looking back at her miserable life, how long will she continue to live like that? She couldn't accept such an unchanging way of living.
"I accept."
[Host has chosen wisely, you're now Cursed to bear the Sin of the Moon of Wrath, and carry it's madness that came after being overthrown by his brother Berserk. From now on, you shall live as a Curse Bearer, and pray to the Golden Moon, you are never to be consumed by your rage.]
When the system stopped talking, a darker shade of crimson aura cloaked her. Crushing Emily's aura into nothing. Emily looked upon this sight in shock and curiosity as she stepped back.
Haley's eyes turned entirely crimson, veins started popping in her head. She grew large, with bulging muscles, ripping apart her jeans and shirt. All rows of her teeth became razor sharp, and her hair grew longer, also turning crimson.
Haley howled in pain as her bones kept breaking, and healing to accommodate her size, becoming stronger with each shattering, as she lost reason to blind rage. That became directed at Emily. But she immediately disappeared in sight and into her shadow.
Which served to further enrage the bulging muscled Haley. She scented thick bloodlust at the top of the building. With strength of her legs, she slightly crouched down, then propelled herself up towards the first floor, damaging the ceiling of the lobby.
Leaving behind debris that fell down, as she continued to destroy more floors going up. Emily left her shadow which was in the same spot it was, when she entered it.
She looked up the holes leading all the way to the top, and grinned like a cheeky child. This was an unexpected development, one she gladly welcomed.
